Kierarktina cat headcanons

• at the cottage, there is a cat that sometimes shows up when they are there and they always make sure to feed her

• one time they come back and and find her already waiting at the door, eagerly demanding food

• even after they feed her she is still making a fuss so they go investigate

• that’s when they find 3 little kittens behind a stack of firewood outside the cottage.

• they are immediately in love

•they also immediately start arguing about what to name them. There are two calico cats and one mostly black one with white paws. Kieran wants to give them proper names and titels because he can. Mark thinks it would be funny to name them after random household objects while Cristina argues they should name them after food (preferably coffee). Thank you @fairondaisy for conducting the survey this is based on. In the end, they decide that they should each name one of them, creating a very weird combination of names.

• they spend the next few days almost exclusively playing with the kittens. The lay in the sun on the grass outside, talk and even have little picnics while the kittens run around them. The mother never to far away.

• of course, they make sure to also take care of the mother

• they are really sad when they have to leave after a few days. The don’t want to leave the serenity of peace, nature and kittens. They think about taking them with them but decide it’s just not feasible. They make sure to take loads of pictures and videos tho. Even Kieran learns how to take a picture on Cristinas phone so he can capture the cuteness. In the end he is the one taking the most pictures

• Cristina makes a mental note to make a calendar out of the pictures that she can give Kieran for his birthday.

• When they come back to the cottage the next time the kittens are still there, healthy, but now way braver and more adventurous.

• over the following months they watch them grow up. A little bit bigger each time they come back.

• in winter, they let them inside and they cuddle up next to the fire with them.

There is a scene in lady midnight where Diego tells Cristina that he initially suspected the Blackthorns of doing necromancy. And Cristina is shocked and tells him that they would never do that.

Kinda funny when you consider that Ty actually did necromancy and Julian said himself that he might do something similar if Emma died.

This was one of the main reasons I loved Hoo as much as I did. In my mind they were this extremely close friend group.

But as I got older I realised that I might have over interpreted how closes they all are. In hindsight it feels impossible not to realise that they were really awkward around each other.

Everyone is afraid of Nico, everyone is also a little afraid of Percy but he is also their glue. Piper is unhappy with her relationship with Jason and is jealous of the relationship Percy and Anabeth have. Leo feels left out because he is the only single person on the ship. Leo and Frank never got along anyway and him and Percy always had a very akward relationship.

They mention multiple times that they have trouble working together especially after Percy and Annabeth fall into Tartarus so how did I assume they were the best friends in the world?

In the wild Hunt Mark told Kieran about his siblings and probably told him about his gentle and kind brother Julian.

And then, in Lady Midnight in the sanctuary scene Kieran meets a cold and calculating Julian who doesn’t take any of his shit.

i will forever stand by the lightning thief musical being the best pjo adaptation by a loooong shot. i’ve seen more than a few people critiquing the show for making these kids be way too serious for what they are—kids—and i’m just thinking abt how well the tlt musical writers understood the assignment!!! (and also the actors!) they’re adults playing 12 year-olds and u really forget that while watching the musical, by how well it’s written and interpreted by the actors. also the way the writers Understood the characters and their dynamics to a T…man, i still think about the good kid reprise when luke paralleled percy 😭😭😭😭 and how annabeth’s cleverness is never doubted and displayed, yet she’s also a silly girl! same with grover and percy! for example percy’s anger showing up in so many parts of the musical yet he’s always trying his best (which is why the good kid reprise works so well!) and then grover having his tree on the hill moment😭😭

back to annabeth: it really irks me how so many people fail to understand her? even her creator ???!!! truly outstanding how in the movie she’s watered down to just being the love interest who says she’s smart and the daughter of wisdom and blah blah blah yet does little to make the audience believe that, and then in the show she’s too smart, almost too perfect in everything she does. (none of the scenes have yet to show her making mistakes, like in the book). i love love love tlt musical annabeth bc she’s a girl looking for others to notice her! she wants to be seen! she wants to make her mark! she says she always has a plan yet sometimes she doesn’t! she’s still 12! she’s petty and makes mistakes and hasn’t seen the world! just goes to show which one is the superior adaptation.

I’d actually argue that this change makes him worse.

In the original version he was suddenly handed a child that he didn’t want and didn’t even directly create. Of course there is never a reason to neglect a child that you are supposed to take care of but he was in a difficult situation through no fault of his own. (Don’t get me wrong there is a lot not to like about him and how he acted)

But initially loving her and than neglecting her after he gets married and has more kids? That’s just terrible

Mark and Julian’s relationship makes me so insane the first time I read the books I don’t remember feeling that way about it? I think I payed most attention to Ty&Livvy + Ty&Jules + Livvy&Jules out of the dynamics so those stuck out most in my memory there are also shifts in what’s focused on most in LM vs Qoaad so that’s part of it but like… Mark and Julian is so funny and compelling to me because they do not understand each other at all! No scene encompasses how much Mark does not get Julian like the scene post whipping where Jules goes on that speal about how he wouldn’t want to live if Emma died and knows it’s not healthy but he might do what Malcolm did for Annabel if she did did and Mark is like “no my baby brother you are too good a person you would never ever do something like that ik you don’t mean any of it” had me in stitches ajdjdj as a reader who’s been in Jules’ head and knows that yes, he absolutely did mean all of that (codependent king love him for that <3). And then in LoS there’s a scene where Mark is tasked with watching the kids and minor things go wrong (well I mean someone does get injured. But for Shadowhunters that is still p minor) so he’s like “oh my god Julian would Never have let things go wrong like this he would know exactly what to do” bestie no… he wouldn’t have known better he would have just faked it till he made it and never let anyone know he was struggling to begin with lolz. That’s not even getting into the Emma thing which is just a whole cycle of them projecting their own feelings onto the other person Mark assuming Julian loves her platonically because he does and Julian assuming Mark’s would be in love with her because that’s normal existence to him usually I don’t care for set ups like that but this one is fun somehow.. and that scene after Emma and Jules argued and then fucked in that cottage so Jules comes back in a good mood and notices that Mark is constantly on edge around him because he’s accidentally been so snippy/cunty to him since the fake dating started and he’s like “oh have I been that bad?” And then tells Mark he’ll be cool now because he knows they weren’t really together Andjjd. also they’re both sooo bad at being teenage boys in completely different ways so the juxtaposition of their traumas is fun “I don’t understand how to be a teenage boy because I’ve been raised to be a “feral” (only using the word because they use it to describe Mark so many times in the books) creature and feel trapped by being among humans” vs “I don’t understand how to deal with teenage boy emotions or think through that aspect of life so I repress all of them while clinging to my responsible adult mask + using my political strategist wiles to get through life”. Idk why but I just really like their whole thing…
