i usually prefer to not have mutuals!! the only moots I have rn are irls. this is mostly because I’m lazy asf and do not want to feel obligated to like & respond to every post from someone I’m following, and vice versa!! i also disappear from tumblr for weeks at a time so it’s a bit hard to keep up with moots. however, do not be afraid to strike up a conversation <3

coltlandgentry txt post edit and another one cause I can’t help myself
I love how Grace insults the guy by saying he's a "staggering waste of carbon". Not oxygen. Oxygen has been done before, a waste of the air you breathe, oxygen is mean, yes, but carbon. Grace gets right down to what humans are made of when he insults people and I love that tbh
the puppetry in phm is just so fucking good dude. think abt how much improv there was. the dancing/mimicking scene when rocky and grace first met? that was improvised. that means that 5 people were so in sync with each other on this puppet that they were able to mimic ryan gosling in real time with no plan. bro. BRO. ouugghhhhh rocky puppeteers i love u

Silence never had a place in your apartment.
Vibrations of Yuji’s video games often shook the walls, the volume at which he yelled at the screen of his computer was alarming. He spoke into his headset’s microphone, personally offended by whatever half-assed insults the opposing team shouted through voice chat.
Or, perhaps, he’d be watching one of those movies he liked. Human-worm something… you never could recall the title of them. They always bored you. Most of the time, when Yuji invited you to watch them with him, you’d nod off onto his shoulder.
Though, now, Yuji wasn’t home. He had said— with the chipper smile he always wore— that he’d be back late, though you were beginning to worry.
Sitting on the couch, settled in the main room of the apartment, you stared blankly at the TV. There was some show playing, though your eyes’ vision blurred as you watched. Your mind lingered on your absent roommate.
The door slowly creaked open. You scolded yourself for forgetting to grease the hinges. That thing pierced your eardrums and nearly woke Yuji up every time you left early for work. Slowly turning your head, your gaze began to focus on Yuji as he walked in.
“Walked” was a strong word. His shoulder slumped forward, hand clutching it. His jaw was clenched tight, body staggering. Crimson dripped from his forehead down his cheek.
Your legs moved before your mind could fully process what was going on. “Yuji!”
The high-pitched sound made him wince. He stepped forward to lean on the wall, turning his body to reveal a gash on the side of his abdomen. He watched as you hurried towards him, eyes bleary while his head hung forward.
This felt like some sick nightmare, your eyes widened while his closed. Your chest tightened, legs trembling where you stood. Panic seized your limbs, wrapping around yourself in a restricting blanket. Your mouth worked faster than your mind.
"What happened?” You questioned him. “Hey, talk to me! What the fuck, Yuji? What did you do?"
The words were louder than you intended. Too harsh to be directed at someone wounded. The moment they fell from your lips, you paused. He did the same, head lifting to look at you fully for the first time since he walked in. You'd never spoken to him that way.
His eyes watered. You convinced yourself it was from the pain.
Regaining his bearings, he stood fully. Yuji looked at you, remaining silent. The gathering of water in his eyes slipped down his cheek. You saw it in a glimpse while he turned away.
"Yuji," you mumbled, a quiet plea for him to turn back around.
His body stuttered, limbs moving without any semblance of grace. He didn't look back while exiting through the doorway from which he came.
The door closed behind him, one long creak to announce your separation.
Yuji would always laugh at it. He'd grin and swing the door back and forth to let it creak and annoy you. This time, you heard no laugh behind the door.
You stood there, eyes boring into the door's wooden composure.

The city truly never slept, that much was apparent as you sat on the fire escape. The silence inside was suffocating, you needed to escape it.
The sky wept as your eyes threatened to, rain pattering against the metal stairs which you sat. You'd grabbed an umbrella, though you haphazardly held it above your head. The rain still reached your skin, but you couldn't feel any colder than you had when Yuji walked out the door.
Warm lights from street lamps blurred together in your unfocused vision. The cloudy sky shielded the sunset you would've usually watched with your roommate.
"You'll catch cold out here," a voice sounded adjacent from you. Your body jolted at the sudden intrusion, head lifting promptly.
Spider-Man, standing right there, on your fire escape, talking to you.
He limped over slowly, wincing. The man sat down on the step next to you, ducking under the umbrella, too.
Your eyes, still wide, followed him as he settled down. Hands adjusted their grip on the umbrella, body shifted to allow him room.
"Uh, are you alright?" You asked quietly, eyebrows knit. "You're limping."
Spider-Man gave a small laugh. "I'm just fine," he answered, though there was something about his tone that led you to believe otherwise. "The life of being a superhero... y'know? Haha."
His words made your eyebrow quirk upwards.
"Are you okay?" He asked after a moment, trying to play off his awkwardness. "Why're you sitting out here, in the rain?"
Your shoulders shrunk slightly. "My roommate," you answered quietly. "I, um... He got hurt, and I yelled at him because I panicked- I feel like an idiot, he didn't deserve that."
He watched as you curled into yourself, arms wrapping around your knees. Spider-Man frowned under the mask.
"Oh, that sucks. It seems like you care a lot about him," he offered in response. Silence lingered between the two of you again. "Do you have feelings for him?" He asked suddenly.
You flushed, eyes darting upwards to look at him. Spider-Man was sitting with you, asking if you had feelings for your roommate?
"What?" You mumbled, taken aback. "I don't... I don't know."
Immediately, he sputtered, "Oh, oh, sorry! I didn't- You sounded like you cared a lot about upsetting him, so I assumed maybe.."
"It's okay-"
"No, uh, I'm sorry, really."
The both of you just stared at each other. You were the first to look away, playing with the bracelet around your wrist.
"If it makes you feel any better, I can tell you about the girl that I have feelings for," Spider-Man offered.
"There's a Ms. Spider-Man?" You asked while looking back at him.
"You could say that," he mumbled. He felt his lips curl into the first genuine smile since he got hurt.
"I want to tell her. It's been weighing on me for so long," Spider-Man rambled while you listened intently. "She's so beautiful, she can always make me feel better. I love her. I think... she's a little upset right now, though."
You frowned sympathetically. "That's cute. I'm sure everything is fine," you offered with a small shrug.
He nodded. An alarm blaring broke the moment, causing the hero to look up. "I should go," he murmured, standing again. He ducked under the umbrella, stepping back into the rain. "And you should get inside."
Limping on his right leg, he extended his arm and swished away by his webs.
After a moment, you stood yourself and turned to go back into the apartment.

The city sounds flooded through the crack in your room's window. People were making their way to work, getting their breakfast, or perhaps returning home after a long night out.
You turned over in bed, rubbing your eyes. Your legs swung over the bed, carrying you out into the living room.
A door opening caught your attention. Yuji was walking into his bedroom, he didn't say a word. You noticed him wincing, limping on his right leg.
Your face scrunched with recognition. Same leg, same wince. Left the same time Spider-Man appeared.
Despite yourself, you immediately remembered Spider-Man-who-was-potentially-Yuji talking about a girl. There was a girl? He hadn't told you about a girl, who was she? Your mind raced, jealousy threatening to reveal itself.
You shook your head, sitting down on the couch. Yuji might not even be Spider-Man, I mean, what are the chances?
What you were sure of, however, was that he was still injured. You brushed off all the thoughts of this mysterious other girl, and walked towards his room.
Yuji's door was still open, allowing you to peer inside. He was sitting on his bed, staring out the window. Your hand raised to knock on the doorframe.
He flinched, looking up. The response curled your lips downwards. "Hey," you greeted slowly.
"Hi." He looked away, as if he didn't want to look at you. The sight was a punch in the chest.
"I'm sorry for yelling yesterday."
Yuji lifted a hand in a dismissive gesture. "It's okay, you were scared."
The frown didn't lift from your face. "What happened?"
He shifted on the bed. "I, uh.. I caught these guys shoplifting, so I thought that it'd be a good idea to confront them," Yuji answered, the situation not a complete lie.
You stepped forward, sitting on the bed next to him. "Do you still need some help patching yourself up?" You questioned hesitantly.
He nodded, finally looking at you again. He couldn't hold a grudge for long. "Yes, please," Yuji sighed, subconsciously leaning towards you.
You got up, leading him to the bathroom now to tend to him.
He followed slowly, practically collapsing onto the edge of the tub where he waited for you.
Yuji peered up through his eyelashes as you gathered materials.
You took a step towards him, coaxing the man to take off his shirt. He was bruised and battered, crimson and purple tints marring his skin. Some wounds were still open, others scabbed over.
Gently pushing his body to turn sideways, you grabbed a needle to stitch up an injury near his shoulder blades.
You pierced the skin, being as gentle as you could.
"Ouch," he complained, his features contorting with the pain.
Yuji whined your name at a considerably harsh poke by the needle, his hand reaching up to pinch at the bridge of his nose.
"Relax," you breathed out. "Just a few more."

The coincidences were adding up. Staying out late the same night Spider-Man was featured on the morning news for defeating another villain. Having the same injuries the night Spider-Man spoke to her on the fire escape. Being suddenly secretive when he climbed through the window for the third time that week.
You felt like you knew at this point. There was only one thing you could do. Tell him, perhaps? No, that was too easy.
"Hey, Yuji?" You called to him from the couch, folding your legs under yourself. He gave a soft hum, the sound a familiar one of acknowledgment from the man.
"Don't you think Spider-Man's cute? Like, I bet he's adorable under the mask."
You watched as he paused, hands frozen under the spray of sink water. The dirty dishes were forgotten, his attention solely on you.
"Who's Spider-Man?" He sputtered out, sporting an awkward look while attempting to look confused.
You expected pushback, maybe even a scoff. Not that.
You blinked, your nose scrunching in amusement. "Yuji," you teased him, making the man shrink into himself.
"That's not what I meant to say," he mumbled, noticing he'd played too dumb.
He slowly walked over, slumping down onto the couch next to you. "Okay, but, don't you think he'd be cute?" You continued, baiting him.
"I don't know," Yuji conceded, rolling his eyes. "Why do you think that, though?" He looked at you expectantly.
The edges of your mouth curled up slightly. You were already fairly certain of your assumption. "He's very sweet," you began, shrugging. "He's got some good arms, too, don't you think?"
Yuji choked on his own spit, coughing and turning away. Though, he wasn't fast enough. You still spotted the crimson rising to his cheeks. He adjusted his seat on the couch, swallowing slowly.
"I mean, I don't know," he repeated. "Sure, I guess."
Your smile brightened into a grin.
⌓⌓⌓⌓⌓⌓⌓⌓⌓⌓⌓⌓⌓⌓⌓⌓⌓⌓⌓⌓⌓⌓⌓⌓⌓⌓⌓⌓⌓⌓⌓⌓⌓⌓⌓⌓
It took a couple days, but Yuji gained the nerve. He slipped the webbed mask on, taking a deep breath before he looked down at the bouquet in his hands. Your favorite flowers, wrapped up nicely.
If you liked Spider-Man, he'd to his best. Hiding behind the mask, though. The poor man didn't have the confidence to tell you as himself.
He spotted you, walking back to your apartment complex after work. The tension in his shoulders lessened as his gaze followed you. Though, as soon as you got closer, he began to feel nauseous again.
His hands began to tremble. With a swish, he tried to swing to the next building. His foot got caught on the ledge, tripping his body forward. He went flying to the alleyway between buildings, catching himself last minute. He muttered curses under his breath, now hanging upside down in a cluster of his own webs.
The sound made you look over as you passed, catching sight of a dangling Spider-Man in an alleyway. You watched out of confusion and now curiosity, noting the flowers in his hand.
He flailed around in a panic before he saw you. Trying to act natural as he spun due to the suspension, he held out the flowers.
"Hey, uh," he paused to clear his throat, "pretty lady." As soon as he said it, embarrassed colored his face behind the mask.
The sight was shocking. A hero, upside down and suspended from his webs, frozen out of nervousness while holding out a bouquet.
You realized then that you were the girl he was talking about. He thought you were beautiful, he was in love with you. Not some mysterious person he'd never mentioned before. The two of you had been so oblivious.
You couldn't help the way you doubled over in laughter. The sound usually would make Yuji smile, but he only huffed and tried to get himself out of the webbed mess.
"I know it's you," you snickered, walking over to him. Your arms extended to cradle his face, promptly stopping his upside down spinning.
The white lenses of his mask widened, watching with pinched eyebrows as you grabbed the flowers from his hand.
"Thank you, Yuji," you cooed at him. The gentle sound made him melt and he smiled finally.
Reaching for his mask, you pulled it down past his lips, letting the fabric catch onto the bridge of his nose.
"I don't take back what I said about Spider-Man," you murmured, leaning forward until your lips brushed his. "He is pretty cute."

I love thinking about Eva Stratt pirating the entire internet. Girl did you figure out how to do that yourself. Fucking amazing. Did you approach some poor government official and force them to do it. That’s fucking wonderful.
After that they were called downstairs for the candle blowing but Colt wouldn't stop pouting and saying he doesn't want to take a picture or share a cake with Ryland. But when Colt's buddies stared rudely at Ryland as if he did something to Colt, he immediately sat politely and smiled at the camera :^
