after 9 years, i finally attended my first rollercon. it was beyond my wildest dreams. from the time i got on the plane and walked into the stunningly eerie riveria, i was with my people. dallas had a great showing in vegas. i made new friends, skated with super stars and a go-pro, managed a few successful sneak-dances at the black and blue ball, and sold lots of gear for sin city skates at the atom booth.

still, i can't help that i'm getting the sads over a few things from my experience. do you have the time to listen to me whine?

i managed to get a copy of the last hellarad zine ever, but it somehow didn't make it home with me

i had a demanda riot cut-out for about the same amount of time as i did the zine with her face on it [but she is at least with friends!]

i lost my favorite brown leather bracelet, my cop hat, and possibly my dignity by the pool

i showed rivas and serelson my slow motion fanny pack twerk, but they were not impressed

Why are solo Texas blockers so good at holding jammers until their wall can catch up? Footwork and flexibility. Don’t rely solely on shuffling, don’t rely solely on backwards blocking. Go with the jammer. Follow her movements. If she’s trying to spin around you, you can spin around her.
