someone offering me an ibuprofen when i have a headache is the closest i'll ever get to understanding how people in the bible felt when an angel appeared to them in their time of need
as an uterus haver it always astonishes me how i truly forget about its existence… like my body aches my head aches my mood is rotten all around the same time of the month each month. surely this has nothing to do with my hormonal cycle. most likely answer is i’ll die surely
Leslie Feinberg on trans exclusion in feminist spaces.
“We’re in danger of losing what the entire second wave of feminism, what the entire second wave of women’s liberation was built on, and that was ‘Biology is not destiny’. ‘One is not born a woman,’ Simone de Beauvoir said, ‘one becomes one’. Now there’s some place where transsexual women and other women intersect. Biological determinism has been used for centuries as a weapon against women, in order to justify a second-class and oppressed status. How on Earth, then, are you going to pick up the weapon of biological determinism and use it to liberate yourself? It’s a reactionary tool.”

“What do you mean you’re not coming? We haven’t seen each other all week I though we both agreed to get coffee today.” Jin looked up from his corner of the cafe at the sound of your voice as you made your way into the cafe. You looked somewhat disheveled as you brushed your windswept hair out of your eyes, holding your phone close to your ear, but Jin felt his heart flutter as he took in your beautiful features.
“I know I’m sorry, I just got caught up with uni work-“ Lisa answered you, regret evident in her voice. You sighed as you stood in the long line, eyes skimming the menu on the wall opposite.
“I can’t espresso how hard this is for me.”You said sadly, smirk tugging at your lips.
“Y/n-“ Lisa sighed.
“I’ve been thinking about you a latte and it mochas me very sad that you’re not coming.” You interrupted, smiling wildly at your puns.
“Y/n, seriously?” Lisa groaned as you laughed.
“I’ve bean waiting for you for so long, and now I have to stay in this brew-tiful cafe all alone.”
“I’m hanging up now.” You were unable to hide the smile on your face at Lisa’s irritated tone.
“I’ll miss you a latte.”
“You already used that one.” Lisa said.
“Love you.” You giggled, hanging up after she said it back. You pulled up to the front of the line, eyes catching on a figure in the corner who watched you with a smirk on his face. You almost gasped as you took him in, his pillowy lips pulled up, his beautiful eyes shinning with delight as he watched you.
“What can I get you?” You turned away from the mystery man, cheeks pink as you gave the worker your ordered, stuttering as you went.
As you waited for your drink you couldn’t help but be drawn back to the mystery man, sneaking glances his way any chance you got, blushing as he met your gaze with his own. Maybe it was a good thing Lisa hadn’t made it today, or maybe he was looking at you wondering why you kept staring at him. You shook your head in an effort to clear your mind as your name was called, walking up to the counter to collect your drink. Although it had been a long wait the cafe had nearly emptied out as people grabbed their orders and went about their day. You thanked the worker as you took your drink, turning to leave only to jump in shock. The mystery man stood before you, shy smile dusting his lips, cheeks turning pink at your reaction.
“S-Sorry.” He stuttered, taking a step back.
“It’s okay.” You said smiling tightly.
“I’m Seokjin, uh, Jin.” He said, holding out his hand. You smiled softly as you took it in yours.
“Y/n.” His body seemed to relax at you touch.
“I was wondering if you wanted to sit with me?” He asked quickly. You stared at him, eyes wide. “Only if you want to, I-“
“Sure.”
“Really?” He asked, his own eyes widening at your answer. You nodded sending him a kind smile. “Okay then.” He said gesturing to his empty table. You led the way, blushing as you went, unable to comprehend how someone as beautiful as Jin was asking you to have coffee with him.
“I’ll be honest,” he said once you had both sat down, “I couldn’t help but overhear your conversation before.”
“Oh god.” You said, hiding your steadily reddening cheeks in your hands, “that’s so embarrassing, I was just teasing my friend cause she cancelled on me.” You whined voice muffled by your hands. Jin giggled, smiling endearingly down at you.
“I thought it was funny.” He said. You looked up, eyes peaking out behind your splayed fingers.
“You did?” He nodded.
“I espresso-ly liked the latte puns.” He said smirking. You let out a quick laugh.
“Good one.” He smiled, cheeks heating at your compliment.
“Do you have any more?” He asked.
“Maybe but they’re so bad.” You said, eyes darting down to your coffee in an attempt to avoid his.
“I like dad jokes,” he said, “my friends get annoyed cause I tell them so often.”
“So do mine!” You said, looking at him with wide eyes as excitement laced your words. He laughed, nodding your way for you to say your jokes. You blushed, fiddling with your hands taking a deep breath before asking.
“What do you call a sad cup of coffee?”
“I don’t know.” He responded leaning forward in anticipation.
“A depresso.” You said, wincing as you looked up at him. Jin stared at you in silence before letting out a loud laugh. His laugh was infectious and within seconds you were joining him, the workers of the cafe looking over at you in concern.
“That was so bad.” He said, wiping his eyes. You just sent a huge smile his way.
“Can you do any better?” You asked, his eyes lighting up at the challenge. He tapped his chin endearingly as he thought.
“Okay! What’s Bob Marley’s favourite song?” He asked, bouncing up and down in his seat.
“I don’t know,” you giggled, “what is Bob Marley’s favourite song?”
“Don’t worry, be frappe.” You laughed with him, shaking your head at the absurdity of the joke.
“Your go.” He said as you both calmed down a bit, smiling as you looked around the room for inspiration.
An hour later Jin was sure that you were his soulmate. He didn’t think anyone had ever made him laugh as much as you had. The only reason he even noticed how long the two of you had been talking was because Namjoon was blowing up his phone. He sent an apologetic look your way as he answered his phone after already ignoring three of Joon’s calls. You just sent a smile his way, taking a bite of the chocolate cake Jin had bought the two of you to share after you sixth bad dad joke.
“Hyung where are you?” Namjoon asked, concerned.
“I’m sorry I got caught up.” Jin responded, sneaking a look your way.
“Jin, you said you’d be twenty minutes then you would be back to record your verse.” Jin sighed causing you to look up at him, brows furrowed in worry. He shot you a reassuring smile.
“I’m coming Joon, I just didn’t realise the time.”
“Okay, see you soon hyung.” Jin frowned down at the phone as he ended the call, he hated disappointing his members especially their leader.
“Sorry.” You said softly, causing Jin’s head to whip in your direction, brows furrowed in confusion.
“What for?” He asked.
“I-I didn’t mean to make you late, that seemed important.” You said gesturing to his phone. He shook his head.
“Don’t be sorry. It’s not your fault and it’s not that important, Joon will get over it. Besides I liked spending time with you.” You stared at him in shock, pink dusting your cheeks at his words.
“Y/n?” He said, waving his hand in front of your face, laughing as you blinked up at him.
“Sorry,” you giggled, “I liked hanging out with you too.” You said, ducking your head. He smiled at you, before holding out his phone. Your head tilted in confusion.
“Can I have your number?” He said smirking at you.
“Oh, right!” You said, blushing as you took his phone and added your number in. He smiled as you gave it back, sending a wink your way.
“I’ll see you soon?” You nodded.
“Definitely.” You both stood, making your way out of the cafe, the cool wind lapping at your bodies.
“Maybe we can go to the movies next time, I have a lot of popcorn puns saved up.” You said, pulling your jacket tight around you. He let out a short laughed, and you smiled at him, eyes crinkling with joy.
“I’ll can’t wait.” He said, smiling back at you. You nodded in reply, before you both headed your seperate ways.
You shook your head as you walked unable to believe what had just happened. You looked down as your phone buzzed a text from an unknown number popping up.
I had a great time today y/n ☕️💕
Jin couldn’t wipe the smile off his face as he made his way back to the studio. Not even thoughts of being repremanded could dwindle his good mood.
“Finally.” Was all Namjoon said as Jin made his way into the dark room.
“Sorry.” Jin replied, still smiling as his phone beeped. He looked down to read the text, his smile growing bigger, eyes twinkling with joy. The younger man watched him, brow raised in suspicion.
“What’s got you so happy?” Namjoon asked.
“I think I found the one.” Jin said casually as he shedded his coat and made his way into the recording booth. Namjoon’s mouth dropped open as he gapped at the older man, but Jin was to busy smiling down at his phone and your text to notice.
Me too. I can’t help but wonder where you’ve bean all my life 😉
