“What?” River spat out, his attention turned towards the older male whilst the annoyance was clear in his tone. His hand struggled to push back the small bag of pills he had been earning from for the night, quickly pulling out a lighter to light up his cigarette; partially using it as a disguise from his earlier intention, partially using it to simply light up his death stick. “Quit following me Hayes. Don’t you have better things to do?”

River was in no mind to think straight. He had only just smoked half a joint a few minutes ago; the stick lingering a certain effect that had him looking dazed and blankly back at Huma. Despite him being completely not himself (though sober, he doesn’t reflect any of a difference), River was looking for an exit at the current confrontation. “Well, for once, I didn’t think you’d turn out this bitter,” his shoulders raised in a shrug as he allowed the words to slur right out. “I thought, you know, maybe after not seeing each other for years, you’d be a little more excited to see me; but I guess not. And I suppose that’s fine.”

Sebastian playfully rolled his eyes and replied, “I mean, I did get a chance to sketch Drew Handford. Do you remember him? He was a such a massive dick in high school. Also has one.” He gave the other a knowing look and smile. He returned his attention to his sketchbook, adding value to some woman buying a candy apple. His lifted brows soon drew inwards; confusion taking over his features as River found it difficult to understand which page they both were on. However, the words coming out of the other’s lips had managed to cause him to give out light chuckles; his face scrunching from hidden facts Sebastian had revealed. “Fucking hell, Stark” he swore through his chuckles; shaking his head from disbelief before looking up at Sebastian. “Don’t tell me you slutted up with Handford back in high school. Shit. Who knew little Starky was getting any at all.”

Despite his every being freezing from the sight and sound of Gabi, it wasn’t long after did he find himself hopelessly allowing chuckles follow right after hers; her contagious laughter only leading the tip of his lips to subconsciously curve up, whilst his eyes smiled along as he kept his gaze on her. “You’re always supporting me,” he spoke teasingly, giving her a quick wink in a form of saying ‘thanks’, his lips tugging to one side afterward. “Let’s be honest though, I wouldn’t charge you at all. You have a way of getting free stuff from me. Take my Bon Jovi and Toto shirts for instance -- you still haven’t given it back to me yet.”

he wasn’t drunk, not yet at least, but he felt tipsy and that was enough to make him make decisions that he would later regret. river hadn’t done anything, but the moment pax spotted him after the show (in an inebriated state), he felt he needed to remind him one or two things. he walked towards the younger male, placing a hand over his chest to stop him on his tracks. “hey, buddy. nice show you pulled before.” he greeted the other, removing his hand with a quick pat. “where we you going, huh?”

In between his fingers held a newly lighted death stick; his sleeveless shirt had just been soaked with his own sweat, but it didn’t seem to faze River the slightest. Considering the growth of his band, and his adaptable nature, it was expected of River to grow into the consequences his name eventually earned -- the adrenaline rush, the people and their faces making an appearance temporarily in his head. He never was one who’s great with people and faces, but with an old face stepping in and stopping his tracks, River lowered his cigarette in a polite gesture. “Hey buddy,” he greeted the older male back with the same greeting, and the same tone -- take it as you will, he thought to himself though the smirk creeping on his lips was only asking for trouble. “Headed to the bar to gain back my energy,” he enlightened with his head cocked upwards towards the direction he was heading. “And you, big guy? Who knew, of all places, I’d see you here, huh?”

Did my proposal of dick ice-lollies sparked some sort of inspiration inside of you?” His head ducked down to his soaked clothing and with a quick shrug, River tilted his head. “I’m used to it. I doubt I’ll be wearing it for long.”

Sid said nothing, mainly he just sighed, as he so often did, putting a hand to his head and shaking it. After a moment of finally collecting himself and deciding what to say, Sid spoke. “So basically what you’re saying is that from now on we have to make sure you perform places, otherwise you’ll bring your own phallic objects?” He paused. “Kids are going to be here, Riv.”

“I need to survive, don’t I?” River questioned Siddharth through light chuckles. “You can’t expect me to starve myself to death if I wake up band-less one day and have nothing left in my pockets.” For someone who’s aimless and lazy, it was surprising to hear such words or thoughts to be spilling out of his lips. Despite him never planning ahead (ever) or lacking in the department of strategizing River had always been the type to kill to survive. He developed more intelligence on the streets rather than academics, which at times (and in the past had) led him into stealing and cheating his way around surviving. “Say you’ll support me,” he continued, looking over at Siddharth as he cheekily wriggled his brows, hoping encouragement from the other would follow. “Screw the kids. They’re sucking all the fun out of everyone in this damn fair. You don’t see me complaining about how unnecessary it is to have bouncy castles and a fucking clown.” Not that it’s important, but River quite liked bouncy castles. The clown, however, he could live without -- he did, sort of, kicked their shin earlier.
