Lift everything you can get away with at big chain grocery stores
@ the place I used to work. We’d legit throw out ENTIRE RACKS of baked goods everyday, and when we asked if we could make less so we could save money and be less wasteful, management said no? What the fuck? We (the workers, not management, they would have killed us) gave away everything we could, took home everything we could, and STILL there were at least 4 cart fulls of breads and pastries dumped every. Single. Night.

literally what the fuck?? do they know what it feels like to be homeless? to have literally no money to your name so you have to steal to survive? because that’s where i was a year ago. there is absolutely nothing pretty or privileged about being poor, it is hell. i lived in my car and i ate stolen food every day until my best friend (now roommate) took me in. think about how it feels to not have tampons when your vagina is bleeding. think about how it feels to not be able to wash your hair or change your clothes because you can’t afford to.
i lifted then and continue to lift now because i refuse to live like that. i refuse to let this bullshit capitalist society let me live like that.

ive had lovers who’ve had to face homelessness and one told me in great detail what it did to their mental state. not knowing if sleeping would be safe because you could wake up with all your shit being stolen. sleeping in the cold, starving more days than not.
stores do NOT price shit fairly nowadays, especially in america. these bullshit products are all made of factory/slave labor anyways. got me fucked UP if you think i’m gonna line the pockets of corporations benefitting of a product that costed PENNIES to make.
taking a few econ classes / learning exactly how much and how these items were made was all it took for me to realize these companies are literally a fucking farce.

We do this shit to companies that are assholes to their workers. Stop fucking stealing from small businesses, churches, OTHER PEOPLE, and thrift stores that donate to charities. Whoever is doing this is DISGUSTING and needs to stop. This is already common sense on what NOT to do.

How do you know if LP is watching cameras or not? Ok some stores have those screens that show you they’re recording but I’ve concealed (unknowingly) in front of them and nothing happened
the trouble is that you can’t! you don’t know if someone is watching you through the cameras or not. there are stores where it is more likely than not that all cameras are being watched at all times - e.g. Topshop, Kohl’s, etc., but with most you just can’t tell. that’s why you must never conceal in front of any cameras, and leave immediately if you accidentally do. sure, there might not be someone watching you, but do you really want to take that chance? better to be over-cautious than caught.
Rules to Lift by:
-If you can see a camera, it can see you
-Imagine every camera is monitored, even if you’re 99% sure it isn’t
-Don’t get sloppy, practice and ALWAYS scope before lifting. Don’t lift on a whim!
one tip -- scoping naturally is a skill you should hone!! i swing my head around pretending to look for an employee or staff to “help me” when in reality i’m scoping stuff out! and i “look for the hanging signs for each department of products” when in reality i’m looking for cameras! i rarely do this, but you can also pull out your phone to pretend to take a selfie / facetime a friend, but use it to find cameras behind you!!
be smart, and most of all, be natural! you’re just a customer ;)

Lol I always say “yes! It’s so great to get service here! Do you have any other black and white patterned tops? If so, can you add that to my room?” really excitedly and then make them regret it. I hand them like 8 things and add more myself and take things away and they offer things and hand things and blah blah its a mess. But by that point they’ve gotta be like “Wtf is even in there” and then I take like 8 things because they have no idea. If ya can’t beat em, join em.
yes! sometimes i play into it like “oh do you have this in [size]?” and since the employee has seen it, i just cut my losses about that one article of clothing, it becomes a “decoy” for me. I go in and try it on, and conceal other shit (EVEN IF I ORIGINALLY WANTED THE DECOY!) and come out and play it off like “oh, it didn’t fit well” or “oh i didn’t really like it, here” and they put it away. that’s also another pair of eyes off you, and you seem more like a normal customer!
i remember what it was like to just lurk these blogs before becoming a lifter. struggling with questions like, why do these people think it’s OK to steal things?
and really the answer is (coming from an econ major) i realized how corrupt so many modern stores are. think about it- the people who make the actual clothes are paid such a tiny amount of the total cost. Usually 70-90% of a price is simply MARKUP.
I am willing to pay for labor, but I am not willing to line the pockets of Macy’s and Nordstroms and Walmart. The money that comes from us goes any number of ways- to dividends (payoffs for stockholders), to retained earnings (profit for the company, aka paying the C-level execs), to buying new plots of land for retail. Etc.
But so little of it is going to the workers. Because corporations like Macy’s, and Walmart, Target and SONY and A&F etc etc… They have deals with companies that represent factories that employ individuals to make clothes. At each level the amount of money handed down gets smaller and smaller.
And guess what? A SHIT TON of brands source from the same areas and countries. That’s why you see it everywhere- MADE IN INDIA, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, Guatemala.
Because a company is always trying to max profits they are going to pay the lowest wages they can, which is usually just an active exploitation of the people of developing countries.
Point in case: these companies are evil. They don’t pay their workers, and the majority of their wealth comes from huge markups on the clothes they sell to us.
I have no qualms upsetting this system that sucks us dry and doesn’t care about violating human rights laws.

So, I've been noticing a huge influx of new lift blogs lately. I suspect borrowing Tik Tok is responsible for this, which is a problem in itself, but that's a whole other post (don't post about lifting on Tik Tok y'all, seriously). I'm really glad to see the community reviving itself, but when scrolling through these new blogs, I've noticed a ton of them reblogging outside the community. This really sucks, because most OG liftblr users will block blogs that reblog outside the community. This is because it exposed the community. New liftblrs, please keep your lifting blog strictly for lifting. Do not reblog anything that did not originally come from a lifting blog. We will not follow or interact with you if you do this, for the safety of the liftblr community as a whole.

Natural dialogue
Something I rarely see covered with lifters is natural dialogue. What are the things you say to your partner and how natural does it come off?
Remember, you are an actor when you lift, and the scene you’re playing is a normal shopper hanging out with friends.
Now what does that look like? You talk to your friends loudly and excitedly, the dialogue you have tends to be non- secretive or inconsequential, for example, “god I hate my job” or “omg I’m completely in love with Steve”. This is seen as normal by retail workers and others in the store.
Now imagine if you start to whisper, look around scared and paranoid, or begin to talk about lifting subjects openly? This is NOT normal and will get people’s eyes on you. The way you interact with friends CANNOT be awkward or unnatural.
Dropping your excitement and voice as soon as you get to the changing room, being unable to answer the retail worker in a natural way, or attempting to avoid retail workers at all cost is very unnatural. You will get someone to look at you and wonder what’s happening.
In fact, sometimes you don’t need to say anything to your partner when the help is being provided. Yup, you heard me. Is your partner holding clothes for you outside the change room that she’ll sneakily give to you? Don’t add unnecessary dialogue, open the door, your partner knows what you want (the retail employee will simply assume they didn’t hear the initial convo). Is your partner nodding at you? Don’t need to say a word, go grab that other item without prompting. Is your partner handing you a new item randomly? Most likely they want you to lift it for them, don’t need for them to tell you to get it. Not all things need to be verbalized, when the illegal action is going down, stay quiet. Have your partner already intuitively aware of what’s happening and keep the natural “Steve is so cute” conversation going without missing a beat. That natural convo is your misdirection, stopping the flow of it will jeopardize your lift.
Remember: dialogue, excitement, and warmth needs to stay the same within the store, when the illegal stuff is happening do not prompt with unnecessary words “can you grab me another size?” etc., just expect your partner to know through gestures. You can drop the act once you leave.
The store is your theatre, remember to act the part.
