It sucks that the day after SDGQ 2026, they feature a block of the Metal Slug series *with sponsorship by SNK*. SNK is now owned by Mohammed bin Salman, so Games Done Quick is accepting money from one of the worst places.

I get that GDQ is a company that needs money to operate their programs all year and to reserve whole ass hotels for their mainline events, but why couldn't they just have stuck with their usual sponsors of AMD, Red Bull, and the Yetee, plus several much smaller businesses (like the arcade that just sponsored them)?

They just raised $2.4 mil for MSF and had several segments focusing on what MSF does, especially with regards to the crisis in Gaza. I'm very disappointed, as a somewhat dedicated GDQ fan.

This could have been averted simply by not accepting money from SNK, because they showcase runs from other companies without (being paid to) endorsing them, for example Nintendo, Capcom, and Microsoft's games.
