FT Artig Framed Add-ons

Artig is my go-to mesh for vertical painting recolors and I don't think we've yet had framed add-ons for it! So I gave it frames in four different sizes: original, 75%, 50%, and 25%.

Oh and I stole the frame mapping from @pforestsims' sim noir add-on, so the wooden bits are repo'd to the Ikea MALM end table.

Haunted House, Animal Friends and Little Life Dollhouses - Functional for The Sims 2

It's available with morphs for teens, adults, and elders. This was a huge learning experience for me, and I am actually very happy with how they turned out. They should be considered a custom bodyshape technically, as they are a bit more shapely than the standard Maxis body, but I did my best to make them fit. There are some tops that they will probably still clip with, especially longer tops. However, if there's a particular top that you absolutely must have fit these bottoms feel free to reach out. There are 25 different recolors all slaved to the AF mesh + merged together to reduce accidents. The furred ones were intended to be combined with whatever tops, including bathing suit separates, whereas the skin colored one was inspired by the alien from this post here and made to combine with top-only dresses.

Something interesting! These use the sim's skin for part of the mesh, which means in theory tattoo overlay boxes should work! Which also means in theory that it may be possible to make overlay boxes that would allow for different gradients or to mix and match hoof color. I haven't tested it though. Personally, I think it may be cool to do, but I'm a bit tired so *shrug*

These are a first for me and I tried my best with the joints and weights and whatnot. If they have an issue that's particularly egregious, please let me know.

[TS2] Improved Lot Skirt Shader (WIP)

Overview

Hi everyone! This is an experimental (WIP) mod that makes lot skirts in TS2 looking like neighborhood terrain. TSCS inspired me to create this mod; as far as you remember, TSCS has visible neighborhood decals from lot view. It is set in assembly code so that TSCS lot skirts use neighborhood techniques for mapping. Original TS2 doesn't have such functionality. LD attempted to immitate that via fake neighborhood deco but it was created for particular terrains only. So I decided to attempt editing lot skirt shader and got some results; it adds cliffs, rough and meduim stages and improves shores from lot view! Though it is not perfect as it has some misconsistency with lighting (original lot skirts also do) and doesn't repeat the neighborhood terrain mapping but I think it's more practical than neighborhood deco. Hope you like it!

Features

Adds neighborhood decals (cliffs, rough and medium terrain) to lot skirts. Decals are also visible with snow states. No blue snow fix is included. Works for every neighborhood automatically. Supports lighting mods (dusk and dawn states). Looks better with default replacements.

Installation

Put the .package file into your Downloads folder.

Compatibility

Incompatible with shader mods that modify lot skirts so rename the file adding "zzzz" prefix to make it load last to prevent conflicts if you use many shader mods. Doesn't conflict with other no blue snow mods that modify the rest shaders (roofs, lot terrain).

Known Issues

May look weird in dusk and dawn states using some lighting mods (still have no idea how to fix that). Seam between lot skirt and lot terrain (original TS2 lacks lot edge blend technique like in TSCS to make smooth transition between lot terrain and lot skirt). Lot imposter terrain paint may be invisible sometimes for unknown causes.

Terrain Types

Recently it has been discovered that it's possible to create new terrain types. My shader contains standard terrain types (temperate, desert, dirt and concrete) and uses dependence of textures on lot texture so if you add custom terrain types it's required for my shader to have added such dependencies otherwise my shader will look buggy for your custom terrain types (you are free to contact with me for more detailed information). Stealthic Honey, 4t2 converted by @powerpcinside, recolored and mesh-edited (see details under the cut). For CF-EF. Polycount lowered from 12k to 10.2k.

I kept the original texture but darkened the most intense highlights. Colors are my usual palette + 7 unbinned unnaturals + 5 binned recolors with strands:

I use Grenade both as a blond for toddlers-adults and as a grey for elders - if you don’t want Grenade for elders, delete the files that end with “_grenade_EFgrey”.

• fixed scalp showing through the hair on AF. • fixed transparency - this one at least:

You'll see in the before/afters below that the trade-off is an accentuated transparency line at the top of the head in front view (it's not really noticeable during normal gameplay). • redone bone assignment without animation. There was animation up the roots of the hair at the front, which caused clipping into the face when the sim moved their head. • general reshaping + removal of some parts hence the poly reduction. • improved mapping of the half-up hair at the back (it's always awkward with mapping like this one, I kinda just moved that one vertex around until I was happy enough with what I was seeing). • TF & child reconverted from edited AF.

Extended SimStandardMaterial Shader for the Sims 2 + Optionally Brighter Sims

A Shader Edit/Default Replacement

A few months ago, I shared an edit of the "StandardMaterial" shader adding a few new features. Here are the same parameters ported to "SimStandardMaterial", the shader used by CaS items that don't involve the skin texture. For example, accessories, hair, and additional groups on clothing. The new parameters are: - An "additive" texture map, lighting up specific areas of the material. - An envCube mask, controlling the intensity of this effect via a texture. - Three new envCube modes: + "Blend" replaces the base texture by the envCube's. + "Multiply" multiplies them together (duh). + "DiffuseRadiance", which I also ported from the StandardMaterial. All three of them support the envCube mask and the envCubeCoef parameter. The envCube modes are mutually exclusive, but all effects can otherwise be used with each other. The download itself contains the shader package, a pdf ReadMe listing features and material parameters, and examples showcased on Maxis meshes (including those from the header). The readme lists the specific shader file I've edited. You can use this along my StandardShaderEdit, or by itself. I don't know of any potentially incompatible mods. As usual, do report if you find one. (Also, sorry for all the copy pasting in this post and the readme.)

Update: Brighter Sims

A version of the same mod where the light received by Sims is remapped, making them look brighter and flatter. They can only get about half as dark as their vanilla look. The effect is especially noticeable at night, which admittedly isn't optimal. Unlike the added parameters, it'll affect most existing Sims and Pet stuff. Its version of the readme includes an additional page explaining how to edit it, and set different values per material. (This came about when someone asked if the game's lighting could be flattened/made more diffuse. I got curious and ended up tinkering with what was doable via the pixel shader. The existing per-vertex light calculations remain untouched, I just added an additional step on top. Not sure how "aesthetically useful" it'll be to most players :p)

I liked these walls from Crystal Creations, but I wasn't a fan of the original molding, so I (re)converted them and added dark moldings and panels by Shasta. Comes in the original 14 colors, and categorized as wallpaper / paneling accordingly :)

Veranka 3t2 University Life Whiteboard Recolours

This is a small set of recolours for Veranka’s 3t2 University Life whiteboard conversion for The Sims 2.

The textures are taken from The Sims 4 High School Years and The Sims 4 Businesses and Hobbies. They work well for classrooms, universities, and modern school builds.

I would recommend using 2FW’s edited versions of the mesh. The larger and wall-mounted versions suit these textures much better than the original size.

Notes The textures are slightly pixelly in places due to resizing. This is mostly noticeable up close and looks fine in normal gameplay and screenshots. The seperate pack recolours are clearly named in the download folder in case you don't want either the BAH or HSY recolours for whatever reason.
