All trans people are under attack right now. Every gender non-conforming person, every trans person, every non-binary person, anyone under the trans umbrella is in danger of having their rights taken away. We are all in this fight together, and none of our struggles are less valid than the next.
Please understand that that is the place I'm coming from when I say that we need to give special attention to the attack on trans women the is happening right now. Stay with me.
It is undeniable that trans women are the number one target of almost every anti-trans agenda, especially the ones being propagated by the government and the Republican Party right now. Again, this does not make us more important, or make our struggle more valid than anyone else's, but it is so important that that fact be recognized.
I say this because we- us trans women- are their number one target right now, and if they succeed. listen very closely:
They will come for the rest of us- all trans people- next.
While the focus of the brunt of their propaganda features trans women, their transphobia is all encompassing. The attack on trans women in bathrooms, in sports, in doctors' offices, and in every place in the world is an attack on every trans man, every nonbinary person, every agender person, every gnc person, every intersex person. If they beat out trans woman, they're not gonna crack open a beer and celebrate, they're going to start looking for a new target.
Like it or not, trans women are the front line of defense right now, and as a trans woman myself, I fucking hate it just as much as you do. You can either back us up, or you can keep pushing us out of the way, because
trans rights are queer rights.
