Aokiji\Kuzan x reader - need for comfort
you stayed with Kuzan even after he left the navy: even though he wanted to spare you from the dangerous world of pirates you insisted that you stay with him; on the other hand, how could you have left the man you love?
after your insistence he finally allowed you to stay by his side ( not that you really needed his permission). And even though he was worried about you, he was glad that you stayed with him. Also because you are the only thing that makes him sane, the only one who can comfort him, the only one he can be himself with after he joins the pirates.
after he and the other captains capture Garp, his only father figure in his life, he shows the other pirates that he is fine (he even freezes his tears), makes sure they gently put Garp, still frozen, in a cell, and immediately runs to you.
it is with you that he can finally cry, he can finally let those tears show without having to freeze them, he can show himself naked with his weaknesses.
you don't need to ask him what happened because basically you both understood after Koby was kidnapped by Blackbeard that Garp would come to free him and that necessarily Kuzan would have to fight him
so you hug your boyfriend, making sure that he can hide his face in the crook of your neck while he cries.
you had never seen him so heartbroken, and it tugs at your heartstrings, plus he doesn't seem to want to talk at all, he just clings to you, seems to find comfort from your warmth. So you place him on the matrimnial bed and cling to him.
you cuddle him: stroke his hair, give him little kiss on the forehead etc. He just stays silent blissing your caresses and comforting words, even if the feeling of guilt is still there your actions and words help to soothe the feeling
it is in this moment that Kuzan thanks whoever is up there or fate for having you with him, you are his comfort, his safe spot, his home.
