Completely unironically this is one of my new favorite pieces of literature
“I have no fear here, in this world of trees, weeds, and growing things.”

I'm coining a new identity!
name:
ignotic
definition:
not knowing your gender and often changing your identity
use:
can be used in conjunction with another gender (ex: "I'm an ignotic girl") or by itself ("I'm ignotic")
why does it need to be coined?:
quoigender is an identity that ignotic people could fluctuate to.
questioning includes people who don't know their sexuality, but ignotic is exclusively for gender.
genderflux and genderfluid people's genders actually change, ignotic people simply change their identities while searching for the right one (though they can be comfortable in staying ignotic forever)
here is the flag and its meaning:
the triangle is used to represent someone of unknown gender in a family tree.
here's the version without the △:
I may update this with a full manifesto later
I figure out I had ADHD last year, but I didn’t seek an official diagnosis and medication until this year. I’m 30 years old, my school days are long behind me. I slipped through the cracks because I have predominately inattentive type and I was a quiet little girl. Having ADHD does not mean you have to be hyperactive and loud, it means you have a processing problem in your brain that doesn’t allow you to regulate your focus or emotions.
Mental health even now is still taboo to talk about. People are more open now than ever about it however and that gives me hope.
This is a profoundly personal comic and it only reflects my own experience with ADHD. It is on a spectrum with a wide range of personalities. But if my story connects with someone else and helps them, that would mean the world to me.
HI LET’S SHARE NICOLE’S WORDS ON THE SUBJECT!
It has been literal years but every time I see Martin’s tweets posted somewhere and his word is shared as truth while her post is not shared it sort of reiterates the fact that we trust men to speak about feminism more than we believe women who experience it.
Interesting, innit? https://medium.com/@nickyknacks/working-while-female-59a5de3ad266
Reading her account of how their boss treated her blows me away. Men are so emboldened that they will literally admit to illegal discrimination casually and face no consequences.
In all the years of seeing this post I’ve never seen a link to her side. Didn’t even know she’d written one.
Adding screenshots of her post. His whole post is there without needing a link. Hers should be, too.
Also, she posted this is 2017! It’s fucking 2020 and I’ve seen his side of this for years, but it took 3 years for her side to make its way to my dash…
I’ve reblogged his story at least twice; it’s time for Nicole’s.
I get crushes on people but they dont usually extend into wanting a relationship? Like i get all the feelings like nervousness and being unable to stop thinking about them ajd wanting to be around them and it feels very intense but i also feel like id be fine if they never liked me back/dont care that much about actually having a relatjonship? Is this normal?
Yeah, you don’t have to want to be in a relationship with someone just because you’re experiencing attraction to them. And it’s completely normal.
If you’re interesting in exploring more, I have a few suggestions for labels you may find helpful. It’s possible you could be experiencing platonic attraction, rather than romantic attraction. So there’s actually a lot different types of attraction, and you can experience attraction without it being sexual or romantic at all. (Here’s a good list of the more common different types of attraction if you’re interested.)
Platonic attraction (sometimes also called squishes), can feel very similar to a romantic crush. Have a lot of the same symptoms except that it won’t feel romantic at all, and the person experiencing it generally wants to feel important or be close to the person they’re attracted to.
If the attraction does feel romantic to you though you can also look into akoiromantic/lithromantic. Which is a label for people who experience romantic attraction but don’t or need it reciprocated.
Authorchorisromantic/aegoromantic might also be useful, for people who feel a disconnect between themselves and what they consider romantic. So basically having things they consider romantic but not wanting to be an active participant themselves.
It’s up to to decide if any labels sound right or if you want to explore any of them more. But even if you don’t really connect to any of them, you’re still normal and it’s always fine to not want to act on an attraction.
All the best, Anon!
So for this year's Aggressively Arospec Week i decided to take all the Disney Princesses and reimagine them as aro-spec! I have them listed in reverse order of release so feel free to scroll to your fav
(I havent seen some of these movies since i was little so some parts may be inaccurate)
Revival Era
The newest Disney Princess is Moana! Her movie is my favorite and i have always seen her as aro-ace!
Did you know Anna and Elsa actually arent Disney Princesses? Well im including them anyways. Ive reimagined Anna as recipromantic! She wants love and romance but doesnt actually feel it until Han and Kristoff showed clear interest in her. Being overflowed with these emotions for the first time combined with Hans "feeling" the same way plus growing up on stories of True Love she quickly jumps on the marriage bandwagon. Its true love Elsa! You cant understand Kristoff! After finding out Hans never loved her her feelings end and are replaced by the heavy feeling of betrayal. She then goes slightly more carefully with her relationship with Kristoff. Elsa however is aro, and love was never even a option until after movie one. We hear from Hans that she turns every man down, but it is a mixture of fear from her powers and intense uncomfortableness she felt/feels.
Crown Princess Elena! Many people dont know her as she is a TV series princess. She was my favorite before Moana came out. Elena is aro-ace! She has many admirers but their actions and words fly right over her head, and the more pushy ones make her down right uncomfortable. She loves (and i mean overflowing with love) her family and her subjects and is always working to rebuild and better the kingdom. After her brief transition period of Crown Princess she is set to become Queen.
Merida! Shes aro-ace. I dont think anyone real needs a description explaining why considering her movie was about her rejecting marriage and repairing her relationship with her mom. Being a arrow ace doesnt hurt either.
Rapunzel is demi! During her journey with Flynn she creates her first relationship outside her mother and Pascal. She and Flynn have to trust and rely on one another and grow close by the time they arrive in Corona. At this point she is romantically attracted to Flynn.
(This was the only good gif of her sorry) Tiana is also demi! The only woman not whooed by Naveen's charm who slowly falls for him after going through a life changing journey together... sounds pretty demi to me
Renaissance Era
Mulan is gray! Out of all those naked men the only one that didnt make her recoil, who she also had a hard time averting her eyes from, was Shang. AKA the only man she was attracted to was Shang in a sea of men.
Pocahontas is also gray! She didnt want to marry the man her father picked out, but she also never volunteered a man of her own. She seemingly "randomly" falls in love when seeing John for the first time.
Ive reimagined Jasmine as apresromantic! She genuinely cares for Aladdin as a person, and then cares for him romantically after meeting him again.
Belle is aro! She cares for and loves the Beast platonically. The Beast is in love with her, and they go into their marriage happily despite Belle's affection coming from a slightly different place. Also her getting married helps avoid a whole another Gastón problem plus she gets to keep living in a giant library.
IVE HIT MY IMAGE LIMIT SO IM PUTTING THE REST IN THE REBLOGS
Someone put red paint on the "Serve and Protect" sculpture at the Salt Lake City police building and it is such a powerful statement.
