Whose idea was it to use cherry tomatoes in salads
Like yeah they’re tasty but
How the hell am I supposed to get this greased-up sphere onto my fork
I feel like that’s a bit extreme of a punishment for having bad ideas about salads

“abortion has a great impact on the child’s life!!”
actually adoption has a greater impact on the child’s life but I don’t see people as concerned for our welfare and working to improve adoptees’ lives
I’m talking about giving first parents proper resources and information on all their possible options, including abortion and parenting themselves. I’m talking about raising awareness for adoption laws that allow ALL adoptees to be automatically citizens in the countries they are adopted into. I’m talking about not asking adoptees “would you have wanted to be aborted?” or other insensitive questions. I’m talking about breaking down barriers and creating room for productive conversations about race, since many adoptees aren’t white and the rates of transracial adoptions are increasing. I’m talking about boosting adoptee voices, advertising adoptee spaces, listening to adoptees, and incorporating our criticism into your words and actions.
I’m asking you to give a damn about adoptees instead of just promoting our situation as a flawless solution.
Being killed before you’re born has a much greater impact on your life than being adopted.
I agree that adoptee rights and welfare need to be addressed at every level, and adoption can never be anything more than a solution to a bad situation, but abortion isn’t a solution at all and should never even be considered. Children’s rights—to life, to safety, to parents and love—begin in the womb.
Actually, it doesn't. Adoptees have to live the rest of their life with their birth parents' decisions. Aborted fetuses don't.
If you're not adopted, then you have no place talking about the impacts of adoption on adoptees' lives.
COVID is slowly becoming a “third world” disease. While first world countries are hoarding vaccines, having doses for populations many times their size, third world countries can’t get any because pharma companies want to sell to the first world countries first. Even then, first world countries will receive them first. While rich countries recover from COVID, they will forget about the pandemic while many other countries live the absolute worst moment of the pandemic without being able to vaccinate their population.
Watch also when some first world countries finish vaccinating their populations, they will turn to third world countries and “donate” or sell surplus vaccines. People in these countries will go “Oh how sweet! The government is donating vaccines to the poorer countries <3” when it was their hoarding that led to many, many third world citizens dying before they could even get vaccinated in the first place.
african and latin american countries are also pushed by pfizer to give up sovereign assets as part of their vaccine agreement
Yo europeans, sign the fucking petition, get the european commission to lift the patents
Everyone deserves protection from COVID-19.
This is not a bullshit useless change dot org petition by the way this is an actual thing with legal consequences. If this petition gets to a million signatures, the european commission HAS to examine it.
They need not only a million signatures but to pass thresholds in at least seven member states - which only Belgium has done so so far. Especially if you have Italian, Irish, or Cypriot citizenship, please sign. Sign it in general, but try to circulate if you can to anyone with those nationalities specifically.
231,195 / 1,000,000 signatures as of 10/28/21
237,730 / 1,000,000 signatures as of 11/28/21 and the Signatory Deadline(it has to be signed by this date) is January 8th, 2022.
PLEASE sign, especially if you’re from one of the countries that has not reached it’s threshold. (France, Sweden, Greece, Germany, The Netherlands, Austria…basically every country except Italy and Belgium)
Minimum thresholds must be met in at least five more countries in addition to the 1,000,000 signatures requirement.
The countries closest to reaching their minimum threshold are Ireland(89% of required signatures), France(75%), The Netherlands (75%), Spain (69%), and Cyprus (46%). If you or anyone you know have citizenship in these countries, please sign it, encourage them to sign it, and pass it forward.
If the requirements are met, the European Commission will be forced to examine this and take legal action. Real change is a possibility if enough signatures are collected.
Spread this.

Physicist Proposes To Boyfriend Using Hexagonal Mirror
Ben Bartlett, a physics PhD student, proposed to his boyfriend of eight years by using a hexagonal mirror array to reflect the light from the setting sun onto the ground to spell MARRY ME?
while i understand trans-ethnic now, im still kinda confused abt transracial esp bc im used to the racist definition, and dont understand social constructs well and, race is a social construct- if it isnt a bother cld you explain it a bit simpler, and with some examples?
hello! yes, hopefully I can explain it better:
so I am a transracial adoptee because I was born Asian (my birth parents are Asian, which determined my race) but I was adopted into a white family (both my parents are descended from other white people). race is a social construct, but it's also defined as an inherited one (versus sexuality or gender, which is not determined by your parents).
being transracial is not an inherent characteristic of mine, it simply describes my familial situation.
a white person raised by people of color could also be considered transracial, as well as people of color raised by people of different races (such as an Asian child being raised by black parents). obviously, interracial couples also exist, so this can be more complex too. the dynamics between these examples are all different though, because white people are the majority group and people of color are the marginalized groups. also, a large percentage of adoptees are people of color adopted into white families, so that's another reason that situation is most talked about.
it's confusing because ethnicity and race are often used together. I would say ethnicity is about culture, whereas race is an inherent identity. A lot of people make assumptions about ethnicity based on race, but they're not equivalent.
for example: as a transracial adoptee, people made comments about my appearance, especially as a child, also especially when I was with my parents. I remember a classmate asking if I was evil for having "black hair and black eyes", and my parents were asked things like how much they paid for me. these remarks were very much based on my appearance (though appearance doesn't define race) and knowledge that I was Asian.
on the other hand: as a transethnic adoptee, I have insecurity with my sense of belonging in Asian-American communities, since my exposure to my birth culture is extremely limited. my life was different from some of my Asian-American friends who were raised by Asian parents. these conversations have been centered more around my cultural experiences.
and then there's combined experiences, such as when people assume I know something about my birth culture (or another Asian culture...) because I am Asian
I hope this helps!
I forgot the part of Tumblr where everyone pretends that they know the most about a subject that they definitely do not fully understand
With Facebook and Instagram down, at least we still have the fact that a sea cucumber has a mouth and it has a butt, and it doesn't breathe through its mouth
Your blog almost gave me a heart attack before I read the faq. Was so scared in preparation to see some terrifying Oli London bullshit. Kudos to you for using the term correctly and trying to educate people on it.

i feel like now is a good time to remind everyone that chris pratt is a creepy republican fundementalist christian that goes to a notoriously homophobic megachurch
worth noting: he clearly leans alt right. he follows Ben Shapiro, PragerU, Turning Point, Jordan Peterson, the Babylon Bee, and Dan Crenshaw on instagram, just for starters.
When to click away from an animal video
–Any wild animal in a house/being treated like a pet. Yes, even if they say they “rescued” it. No legitimate rehabber would EVER treat a wild animal like a pet. Repeat after me: it does not matter if the animal is not suitable for release; they still shouldn’t be kept as a pet.
–Free contact with big cats. Even if it’s a “sanctuary”.
–People interacting with wildlife. Feeding, petting, playing with, etc.
–Free handling venomous snakes.
–Predator and prey interacting. Cats and birds, dogs and birds, literally anything else with birds. Cats or dogs with rodents, etc.
–Any video that claims a wild animal is domesticated. Wild animals are NOT domesticated, but they can be tamed. These are two very different things and anyone who doesn’t understand the difference shouldn’t be owning one of those animals.
–Any video claiming that (insert wild/exotic species here) is “just like owning a dog/cat!” i.e. the video that went around saying foxes are “the best characteristics of cats and dogs”.
–Facilities that breed hybrids or morphs (i.e. ligers, white tigers, coywolves, etc)
–Any video by the Dodo
–Obese animals being portrayed as “cute and chonky”.
–Click bait titles about dangerous/exotic animals i.e. “bitten by my king cobra!”, “my pet fox did what?!?”, “letting my pet alligator pick out a toy!”. You get the idea. Anyone using wild animals to get views/publicity does not have their best interests at heart.
–Any “dog trainers” promoting dominance theory (this shit has been disproven so many times and is not even accurate for wolves…)
–Owl cafes, otter cafes, or any kind of wild animal cafe.
Seriously, don’t give these people views. I understand that it can be hard to distinguish good and bad animal videos, but try and be critical of what you’re consuming. Giving these people views gets them sponsorships and money. Plus, more views = increased circulation of the video. This is honestly especially important on TikTok because there are so many younger people on that app. Look at the comment section on any pet wildlife video and it’s “omg I want one!”, “where can I get one?” over and over. And yes, this does matter. It has been proven that the media we consume does influence people to get these as pets. It is currently baby animal season in the US and my clinic is inundated with people who “rescued” baby wildlife (aka nest-napped) and now want to keep them as a pet. Mostly raccoons but also squirrels, opossums, ducklings, wild birds, and pretty much everything you can imagine.
Man, this website is full of people who really think they’re doing something by depriving people of simple joys and turning everything into a anxiety-drenched morality test no one can ever pass, let alone ace.
I’m going to simplify this whole self-righteous mess for you: if it does not spark joy, click away.
FFS, not every second of every day should be a tightrope walk over a bottomless fucking gorge.
I’m literally an animal education blog, so I’m educating about animals. I’m also the one who has to see these animals when someone impulse bought them because of a cute TikTok video and now the animal is dying because they don’t know how to take care of it. So if I can teach even one person to know better and keep an animal from suffering, I don’t give a single flying fuck if it makes you sad or anxious. Quit acting like not leaving a like on a video is some grand sacrifice. No one is asking people to repent or something, just don’t watch the damn video.
