GRRM went out of his damn way to give the stereotypical princess coded character sansa a whole host of UN-princely male influences to shape her character and narrative and to subvert expected tropes, even going so far to make the ACTUAL prince (joffrey) a nightmare, and instead giving her a disfigured and bitterly angry knight, a disfigured and bitter dwarf husband, and a disfigured and bitter lord.

Key words! disfigured! bitter! Just NOT the best guys, no where near prince charmings! 

But they are the ones who in her story show her compassion. The hound can’t hurt her, he offers to save her. Tyrion can’t hurt her on her wedding night. Baelish is the one to save her away from kings landing. Yes, Sansa has a pretty bleak storyline and I’m not saying any of these three men are gonna win mr compassionate of the year, they’re all very messed up and have selfish motives towards sansa and are ~problematique~ dont feel the need to tell me that, i do know, but by ASOIAF universe standards and in the narrative, they don’t hurt Sansa and in their own ways care for her wellbeing and show her compassion when at any point they could have hurt her.

It’s all clearly so on purpose and weaved into every chapter of sansa’s that ‘beauty doesnt equal goodness’ and it’s all very complex and meant to confront and shape her as a character which we can see in the text, but then NAH, so many people want sansa to be with good guy willas tyrell or good guy jon, because they’re so nice and princely and handsome and heroic and that’s what she deserves and it’s like jonsa shippers just want a good prince and princess like every other media has spoonfed them since their disney days and don’t even want to fathom the complex grey relationships that are stated right there in the book and just want to just ignore the hound, Tyrion and Baelish’s impact on Sansa.

Anyways the way Tumblr treats the Perks Of Being A Wallflower like it’s cringe and bad just because of the hipster craze over it in 2012 and ignoring the fact that it’s one of the few books/movies that shows the ugly side of teen mental illness and discusses sexual trauma in young boys (something only portrayed in shows like SVU) is in fact, bullshit, and I’ll never forgive y'all for taking the line “we accept the love we think we deserve” (a reference to toxic abusive relationships) and turning it into cringe culture. This is a book about a struggling depressed kid who I saw myself in as a teen, and yeah he and his friends could be annoying and pretentious but are you going to say you weren’t as a kid?
