I'm making a conscious effort to drink more water every day and I've been looking for a sharp water bottle to help me complement my mission. Thankfully, I found one and it sure is...well, s'well.

Browsing through Story's (one of my favorite stores in the city) latest curated collection, I came across a company with the aforementioned name. Richly designed, this water bottle company not elevates the common thermos aesthetically, but functionally, too. These bottles keep cold drinks cold for 24 hours and hot drinks hot for 12 because of the 18/8 stainless steel design (tbh not sure what that means, but apparently it works). They come in a variety of colors so choosing a favorite shouldn't be too difficult unless you like 'em all, in which case you're out of luck. Bottom line: s'wonderful and s'marvelous for sure.

Those McKittrick Hotel Employees continue to outdo themselves.

Once you thought the Sleep No More spin-off bar, restaurant, and summer garden couldn't get any better, something like The Lodge opens up and you're reminded that this is the coolest spot in NYC for, well, anything. The Lodge is Gallow Green's answer to an NYC winterized space and it is perfection. From the ski chalet, wood cabin decor to the perfectly spiced drinks to the cozy fire pit to the freaking tannery they've assembled with a mound of sheepskin just passed a creepy forest of evergreens, you'll want to hibernate here as long as it's too cold to go outside. The space isn't huge so make sure you reserve a spot ahead of time, but that makes it all the more exclusive and inviting for when you do show up.

So do yourself a favor and make the journey to this idyllic, winter oasis. Though winter temperatures may suggest otherwise, I'm telling you the trek is worth it.

A lot happened before Dorothy dropped in. OK so that's the tagline for Wicked, but one could easily apply it to Strangemen & Co's excellent and imaginative production of The Woodsman, now back at 59 E 59.

The nearly spoken-less play uses puppets, music, and movement to convey the tragic story of the Tin Woodsman before he became the heartless shell of metal we all know and love. This one clocks in at exactly 1 hours so there's no excuse to not squeeze in a performance (that and tickets are only $30) before it closes February 22nd. You'll spend nearly the entire time on the edge of your seat and in awe of the exceptionally lifelike puppets, reconnecting to the kid version of yourself that once believed in the power of imagination. I definitely recommend this one.

For those of you searching for thirst quenching, refreshing, "Ah! That's the stuff" sodas, stock up on artisanal colas that not only support small beverage companies, but taste just as good, if not better, than your Dr. Pepper. Most recently, I've been on a sarsaparilla kick brought to you by Maine Root. This handcrafted soda made with Fair Trade Certified organic evaporated cane juice is a lighter bodied brother to Root Beer and is sure to become a favorite. Other notables include Boylan Soda's line of yummy offerings and Russ And Daughters' excellent homemade fizzies (Cucumber and Ginger and Concord Grape Oh My!).

Twenty-two days into January means ten more until February's playlist. There are some real good ones this month, but I wanted to highlight this jam from LA singer-songwriter, Genevieve. It's called "colors" and it is AWESOME! Enjoy :)

The white sneaker continues to dominate chic streetcar and for good reason: it's classic, clean, and a throwback to a simpler time of footwear that we all know and love. But there's an up and comer at its heels known as the casual leather shoe. Truth be told, leather is all over clothing these days from coat sleeves, to backpacks, to shorts, but shoes are an easy way to break into the trend and show others you mean business.

There are plenty of brands that make a nice version, but I recommend these high top beauties from the Todd Snyder x PF Flyers collaboration. They were released a couple months ago and are perfect for the current winter season and beyond. They come in Midnight Black and Sable Brown and are both are an excellent choice. So hop to it and kick it up a notch.

For the shows that survived the Broadway massacre of January 3rd & 4th (when nine shows closed - two that opened mere months ago) and the impending closing announcements (that last ship finally sailed), kudos to you! Thankfully, one that I have failed to recommend yet and is still (knock on wood) going strong is the Broadway revival of On The Town (playing at the Lyric Theatre - formerly Foxwoods Theatre - at 213 west 42nd St).

Re-imagine Fleet Week as Fleet Day and you have the context in which three wide-eyed (and horny) sailors race around New York City to see all that they can see in 24 hours (while tap dancing, of course). But the story isn't the major draw here (I know, you're shocked a tale about three randy seamen isn't Shakespeare caliber). That distinction goes to the wonderfully elaborate and stunning choreography and orchestrations. While most theatre productions today don't trust the attention span of modern audiences, On The Town gives us enough credit to (gasp!) stage a four minute dance number without a single lyric, They also made the bold decision to include ALL of Leonard Bernstein's luscious score without cutting a single note. I should also mention that the singers and dancers are some of the best on Broadway (not to mention the formidable cast of supporting female comedians who deserve to be on a Tony ballet come June 7th).

On The Town is a true revival to be savored just as Bernstein intended.

I’m constantly marking and saving new and exciting places I come across in my daily life, so I was disappointed when my go-to app, Pindrop, shut its operations last year. Searching for a suitable replacement, I came back to an app I once discarded, and was surprised to find it in better shape than ever. Foursquare, is now more than just a way to check in and bother your friends of your every move. It’s a smart and intuitive way of finding relevant recommendations, tips, and saved, customized lists of must-sees. The best features include a map view of your saved places, an automatic categorization feature to quickly pinpoint that Mexican craving of yours, and other useful, user reviews to help you on your search for whatever it may be. There’s no requirement to check-in anywhere, which will no doubt be a relief to many of you. Just a desire to keep tabs on the things you love most.

Cold winter nights are great for three things: hot cocoa, hot showers, and a hottie by your side. I'm talking about Lush's appropriately named, Hottie, which is a must-have massage bar in any season. Molded with bumps to enhance the massage, this jojoba oil and butter based muscle soother is infused with black pepper and ginger oils to warm the skin. Just rub on and it melts onto the body to create a perfect pre-bedtime lotion that smells incredible (Tip: share Hottie with a hottie of your own to create a soothing and sensual experience ;)

Holiday shopping is over, thank God, and that means I’m over long lines and clothing jungles at stores like H&M and Uniqlo for a while. In fact, I was craving something new entirely, which is why I checked out Cos’ new Soho store over the holiday break (129 Spring Street). I’m so glad I did, because they are having a 30-50% sale and I scored the amazing winter jacket pictured above.

It reflects everything this store is about: classics retold in a modern fashion. The Cotton Flight Jacket has the look and feel of a good old bomber, but the structure, straight lines, and deep solid blue give it the Scandinavian feel you’ve come for. I’m told they’re all sold out of this one in store, so snatch one online before they’re gone for good!
