Notice how Shan Yu doesnât even question it or make a comment about âBUT YOUâRE A GIRLâ he just instantly goes into a âIâLL TEACH YOU TO KILL MY MEN AND STEAL MY VICTORYâ rage and I think about this a lot sometimes
((Well that might have to do with the fact that heâs a Hun. Â Women among the Huns had higher status than their Chinese counterparts and even some of their own men. Women were free to hunt and fight along side of the men, could choose their own husbands and divorce him if she choose to. There were even records of clans being led by women leaders. So for Shan Yu Mulan is just another soldier))
thank you, history side of tumblr.
He also might not have been able to see very well, due to whatever horrible disease has taken hold in his eyeballs.
Pretty serious Wilsonâs Disease judging by the copper buildup in in irises, and apparent melanocytosis localized to his sclera.
Thank you medical side of tumblr
IâVE BEEN LOOKING FOR THIS FOREVER
Donât talk shit about peopleâs teeth. Seriously.
Speaking as a major dental hygiene enthusiastâŠ
Great-looking teeth come from two things: luck and money (which is also a function of luck).
Dental procedures tend to be very, very expensive, and are almost never covered by insurance.
Healthy teeth arenât necessarily big, straight or bright white. Depending on what someoneâs natural teeth are like, achieving that look may require a significant downgrade in their dental health; unnecessary crowns and veneers cause damage.
Do not underestimate geneticsâ role in determining teethâs appearance, or how prone teeth are to problems. Genes and early development, i.e. things people get zero control over, can outweigh all else.
A wide range of chronic conditions impact oral health and teethâs appearance, too, and may contraindicate various types of work or raise proceduresâ cost even more.
Finally, for many people and many reasons, celebrity-looking teeth just arenât a priority (even when theyâre attainable; some people might want, yâknow, a new car instead).
Regardless, donât be an asshole. Not even very attractive teeth look good on those.
Iâve NEVER seen a post like this and Iâm thrilled TBH because Iâm very insecure about my teeth and there is literally one reason they are not nice and that is money so Iâm literally down for teeth positivity
I had over 3000 dollars worth of braces and surgeries put in my mouth and I still have enamel damage and cavities on my front teeth from bracket damage.
Well if this isnât just the cutest

Have some Nico Mirallegro reciting Shakespeare to make your day x10000 better.
So, who else here struggled to pick up the âgo away, youâre not wantedâ social cue as a kid, which has made them so overly cautious as an adult that they end up having cool conversations with cool people but donât want to be too friendly in case theyâre missing the cue, and so end up making those cool people think that you donât want to be friends with them?
Because, like, this is the Number One Thing that has fucked me up as an adult and I am so grateful to my friends who didnât stop talking to me while I slowly figured out that, yes, they did actually want to be friends.

If you're a creator and you needed to hear this today:
You have no idea how many people lurk on your work. No idea how many times people go back to revisit your work. How big they smile when they simply think about your work. How fast their heart beats, how excited they get when they see that you posted something.
People are shy with their feedback. Sometimes itâs because theyâre simply shy. Other times itâs because they assume you already know how great and talented you are. Could be both.
My point is, even if you barely have any likes or reblogs, donât get discouraged. You have a lot of silent fans, but they are still your fans. Keep on creating. Because there is always someone out there who will love what you have made.

just a reminder:
a black girl character growing her hair out long breaks more stereotypes than a black girl character having short hair
a black girl character getting to be soft and fragile breaks more stereotypes than a black girl character being strong all the time
a black girl character being protected and comforted by others breaks more stereotypes than a black girl character having no one to look out for her but herself
a black girl character being considered pretty or cute by other characters breaks more stereotypes than a black girl character being considered unattractive

Powerful
This is Alexandra Bellâs work for her series called âcounter narrativesâ who is an incredible artist from Chicago (now based in NYC, I believe) who revises mainstream media pieces about Black people to actually reflect the reality of Black folks and to make white media bias visible. She has one about Serena Williams and the whitensupremacist who attacked demonstrators in Charlottesville with his car.
Bell visited and spoke at the art museum I used to work at and put her work up across the university campus. Sheâs a fkn icon. Follow Bellâs work.
