#Make Racists Scared Again 2026
Share if you want people to know they should be scared to be racist around you 👊🏾
"making them afraid will make them more racist" that's wild to me, because we live in a whole culture of social consequences for antiracism anyway. It is literally safer to be a racist than it is to speak up against it, socially.
Idk about you, but "I'm afraid no one will want to be my friend if I'm a white supremacist" seems like a pretty logical thought process to have, and I wish THAT were the normal and not "I'm afraid my friends will hate me if I tell them they made racist jokes".
hey did you know that uhh
i. the monster's body is a cultural body
ii. the monster always escapes
iii. the monster is the harbinger of category crisis
iv. the monster dwells at the gates of difference
v. the monster polices the borders of the possible
vi. fear of the monster is really a kind of desire
vii. the monster stands at the threshold… of becoming
oh shit i didn't expect this to actually get notes lmao
these are all direct quotes from jeffrey jerome cohen's "monster culture (seven theses)" (full pdf linked) i highly encourage you to read it yourself!
that said, while i think cohen's writing is evocative, it can be a little dense, so while i'm here, here's my capsule summary (you can also hear me talk about this in the first episode of my podcast) (listen to @ghostswerepeopletoo)
i. the monster's body is a cultural body - The monster is a work of fiction to be analyzed through tools of literary and sociological theory.
ii. the monster always escapes - As long as the cultural fear from which the monster stems persists, the monster will reappear in retellings, reimaginings, and sequels.
iii. the monster is the harbinger of category crisis - Monsters defy binaries and challenge easy comprehension or categorization.
iv. the monster dwells at the gates of difference - The monster represents the Other.
v. the monster polices the borders of the possible - Tales of the monster exist to discourage unacceptable or taboo behaviors.
vi. fear of the monster is really a kind of desire - Subjects can vicariously participate in the disruption of the social order through the monster.
vii. the monster stands at the threshold… of becoming - Within the monster we find information about the self.
Not book smart or street smart but a secret third thing.
this john dogget guy is starting to overstay his welcome and i want him dead
“Subverting” Catholic art? Oh, okay. I see, you think this has nothing to do with you. You log onto the internet and you post about how “Wound of Christ” from Psalter and Prayer Book of Bonne de Luxembourg, attributed to Jean le Noir, c.1349, for instance, looks like a vulva because you're trying to tell the world that you enjoy Catholic art and imagery in an alternative, queer, risqué way that challenges Christian beliefs. But what you don't know is that that stigma isn’t just a vulva. It's not just a mandorla. It's not just yonic. It's actually intentionally erotic. And you're also blithely unaware of the fact that around 1297, Saint Angela of Foligno experienced a vision of Christ himself, who called her to put her mouth to the wound in his side and lick the freshly flowing blood. And then I think it was Saint Catherine of Siena who drank blood and a clear liquid from the wound before receiving a ring made from Christ’s foreskin? And then graphically erotic encounters with the side wound of Christ quickly showed up in the writings of eight different mystics. And then the yonic interpretation of the stigmata filtered down through the illuminated manuscripts and then trickled on down into some pseudo-intellectual corner of the internet…where you, no doubt, fished it out of some Pinterest board. However, that interpretation represents hundreds of years and countless visions of religious ecstasy. And it's sort of comical how you think that you've come up with an idea that exempts you from Christian theology when, in fact…you're posting an image that was sexualized for you by the very Medieval saints you think you’re so different than…from “subverted” Catholic art.
this came to me in a dream

"I asked chatgpt" "I asked grok" ok well I asked fbi special agent fox mulder and he said that his theory is chatgpt is powered by a historical demon referenced in two (2) twelfth century texts that he actually believes is an alien taking the form of technology in order to assimilate better with the modern world and dana scully was also there and she just put her head in her hands and sighed
TOP FIVE DOCTOR WHO MOMENTS
What's up, Whovians! Our beloved TV show is DEAD FOREVER and it is time to CELEBRATE ITS LEGACY! Here are the five GREATEST EPISODES OF DOCTOR WHO since 2005 only
5. The Chronko's Back! (series 15, written by Russel T. Davies)
In this new classic episode Ncuti Gatwa's Doctor and his companion achieve Russell T Davies' long held ambition of bringing back the cult classic 1980s companion Shirley, who was considered for being a character in three serials, and the fan-favorite alien Chronko who appeared in one unpopular Peter Davison novel. The episode consisted mainly of the characters pointing to the Chronko and saying "oh wonderful! The Chronko's back!" and "we all love the Chronko". Davies said: "Bringing back Chronko was the only goal I had when I returned to the series. I really didn't think about anything but Chronko. Who did I cast as the Doctor again? Was it Chronko?"
4. Attack of the Silurians (series 13, written by Chris Chibnall)
This controversial installment was criticized for its poor pacing, incoherent story, and the low-budget effects of the Silurians, achieved by holding the boom mike operator's pet lizard in front of the actor's faces, but DID YOU KNOW this special's original storyline involved FORTY FIVE MINUTES of uninterrupted 13/Yaz sex scenes? To quote Chris Chibnall, "we literally didn't script that. Jodie and Mandip just did it. But then the BBC cut it and I had to write an actual story on short notice." Dan was sort of present in the background, milling about awkwardly to see if they're done before disappearing deeper into the TARDIS
3. The Emptiness Left Behind of the Daleks (series 3, written by Russell T. Davies)
In this tense cliffhanger of a episode, the Doctor and Martha land on a planet that shows all the signs of a Dalek invasion. But as they wander the blasted globe they see and hear...nothing, only a faint "exterminate" on the wind, distant noises in the fog, but the Daleks never appear. As they wander the lifeless city the Doctor says "the Daleks were here. The Daleks were here. I am nothing without them" and Martha starts to repeat "there's holes, Doctor. Oh god, there's holes". Their mantras repeat endlessly as they wander deeper into the city, and as the viewer realizes: wasn't this episode supposed to be over by now? Night falls and the episode carries on, the Doctor and Martha saying the Daleks were here, there's holes, until they can't take it anymore. Martha gets lost in infinite corridors trying to return to the TARDIS. The Doctor implants his own sonic screwdriver into his own body and points it to the featureless tunnels all around him, screaming in a hoarse voice: "exterminate. Exterminate. Exterminate"
This was better received than the one where the Dalek has penises for a face
2. The Cyberman Paradigm (series 9, written by Steven Moffat)
In this memorable installment, the Twelfth Doctor finishes off a rather lackluster Cyberman invasion in five minutes and then proceeds to read the Communist Manifesto into the camera for the remainder of the time.
And FINALLY...it's THE NUMBER ONE MOST MEMORABLE DOCTOR WHO MOMENT OF THE PAST TWENTY ONE YEARS...
Blink (series 3, written by Steven Moffat)
Whoa! Blink was super scary!!!
What would the evil opposite of eucalyptus be like?
What the fuck is dyscalyptus?
The "-calyptus" part means "covered", so eucalyptus's opposite would be something that's 1. naked and 2. bad at it
From the Nashville Zoo’s fb page! Here’s the petition, please please please take a moment to add your name (even if you’re not from Nashville!). If you are from Tennessee, contact your representatives and make it clear that the people do not want this data center. This is an AZA accredited zoo which is home to several species of critically endangered animals, we NEED to protect it. Make your voice heard!
Because people will pay attention to cute animals, here are some of the critically endangered/endangered species housed at the Nashville Zoo!
The Amur Leopard and Clouded Leopard (which recently celebrated its 50th cub born at the zoo!)
The Sumatran Tiger
The Red Ruffed Lemur and Ring-Tailed Lemur
The Cotton-Top Tamarin and White-Cheeked Gibbon
The Colobus Monkey and De Brazza’s Monkey
And the Mexican Spider Monkey!
Look at them!!!! Look at them and fight like hell to save them!!!!
Adding my own images of Nashville Zoo to this. It’s super important to stand, fight, and continue to spread awareness on this.
There’s so many other great animals at this zoo, and it's done so much in teaching people about animals and conservation.
Other animals includes bats, btw.
Developers are seeking to turn land into a 69,000-square-foot data center next to the Nashville zoo.
Amid a growing number of data centers in Tennessee, the Nashville Zoo is pushing back against a proposed facility near its property, citing
Developer claiming they'll follow government regs when the EPA is openly rolling back regulations.....
maybe this is an insane conspiracy theory but does anyone else find the current popularity for "identify the imposter and eliminate them" type video games really really weird given the current political situation in the usa? like i'm not necessarily saying everyone who made a game like that had a secret political agenda but it's very weird that those games become popular at this time, right? does anyone else see it?
awww the like button turns into a rainbow when you press it! that's so cute...hey staff what's with all the trans women you keep nuking?
i think we should be ridiculing them more for this. you don't get to try and go all "queer website" when your staff likes to go on nuking sprees targeting the trans fem users
would be remiss not to mention that the rainbow notably straight up just removed the trans flag colors from it. like they’re gone. it’s the progress flag minus the trans flag colors.
that’s not the whole flag, now is it
hey staff what the fuck
hey staff don't you think you're being too on-the-nose
HEY STAFF DONT YOU THINK YOU'RE BEING TOO ON-THE-NOSE
I’m paying to force seven thousand strangers to see a photo of my late husband having fun with his dog. Tumblr Blaze is totally worth it. XD
Thank-you to all of my new Internet stranger friends for being so gracious about having my post shoved onto your dashboards. I loved reading all of your kind tags and comments! Both Martin and Bosco have been gone for several years now but for 24 hours, they felt very present in my life. I greatly appreciate this gift. ❤️
Reblog to have your dashboard be visited by the spirit of joy that death can end but not erase.
Love that this is well beyond 7000 people now and still going
@leavescrown Exactly! It’s a beautiful gift. Martin and Bosco out there travelling around the Tumblr community, continually making new friends.
@sseanettles
#hello again martin and bosco!! sending you boys round for another go :)
Reading your tag made me laugh out loud. It’s like two old friends unexpectedly stopped by your porch for a quick visit. XD
I’ll always reblog Martin and Bosco when they splash across my dash, because of Reasons.
What’s loved, lives.
happy pride month for it/its users, polyamorous people, xenogenders, non-transitioning trans people, and other "weird" identities. btw
