Always fun to visit the dentist and be told you have "an interesting and complex situation."
It's like a more polite way of saying, "your teeth are fucked up!"

It is imperative that the customer remain unaware that employees drink water, it frightens and scares them to think of an employee as having human needs
Something that I feel doesn't get talked enough about is how Caine unintentionally self-sabatoges his attempts at connecting with the human characters.
It's clear to us as an audience that Caine is desperate for validation and love, but to the other characters Caine is an often times inaccessible figure with total control over their lives. None of the cast – aside from maybe Kinger – know anything about Caine. They don't know about what he was like before the circus, or the blue AI, or why he's so adamant about "fulfilling his purpose", and Caine wasn't letting them in on any of it.
He wants the others to like him and want to hang out with him, but he doesn't spend time with them either. He sends them on adventures while he stays in the circus, or if they're in the circus he's off somewhere else. Even if they're in the same place together, he's often floating high above them or dominating the conversation. His desire for connection is genuine, but he's also wasn't making much effort to forge those connections.

I think a lot of Caine fans think that if the rest of the cast had just walked up and talked to him his crash out could have been avoided. I see a lot of people cast shade on Pomni specifically because they saw her connecting to Gummigoo and Jax, but not to Caine and see that as hypocrisy on her end.
I get it to a certain extent; Gummigoo and Caine are both sentient AI, Jax has also done terrible things to the rest of the cast but intentionally. It makes sense to question why she could other empathy to them, but not to Caine.
The biggest difference to me is that the connections she made with those two came to proximity. She and Gummigoo were trapped out of bounds together and she saw him have an existential crisis. She saw that there was more to him than just being an AI. Her relationship with Jax didn't start until after she saw that Jax could act civil to her, and after they spent time together.
In short, she spent one on one time with those two. In contrast, there is no time spent with Caine because he doesn't give anyone the opportunity to interact with him without strings attached. We get two scenes of him interacting with other people individually; Zooble's therapy session and his dinner date with Jax. Both times were because Caine needed something from them; he needed to figure out why Zooble didn't want to go on adventures and he needed Jax to believe he was "just like [the] beautiful humans."
What I'm getting at is you can't expect the human characters to put in the work if Caine doesn't put in the same work on his end. Relationships are built on mutual respect and honesty, something Caine clearly struggled with. So it's unfair to expect the others to get through to him if he refuses to get on their level.

I believe in the separation of church (fandom) and state (media creators)
Fandoms are great because sometimes you see some of the best artwork or writing ever all based on a shared love of the source material, and you also see something that makes you question if they were paying attention to the story at all.
an interest passing feels like being abandoned by the evil spirit that had taken possession of your body
pulling out hanks of grass and sighing listlessly. i kind of miss being posessed. isn't there an evil spirit somewhere that wants to possess meeee
