Who am I?

I’m Rue Jay Hamilton (but I go by other names too).

What am I?

I’m a non-binary/genderqueer writer, singer, reader, dancer, and actor of 22 years who goes by the pronouns fae/they/she. I’m also a pan-lesbian (or call it queer) who wants to blog.

What do I plan on using this blog for?

I plan on using this blog on venting and shadow working. Basically, this is a place of healing.

What am I reading?

With a long list this year, but I am currently rereading Tide by Lacy Sheridan.

What is my favorite song?

Life Update

In recent weeks, I’ve had life-changing news. I will be playing Miranda in a production that crosses over Gilligan’s Island and Shakespeare The Tempest. I’m so excited, because Miranda is a principle role, and I’ve never gotten a large role before.

It's MLK day. Hope you're all enjoying your day off. In honor of Martin Luther King Day, I'll be talking about Amandla Stenberg, an actor who I mostly only know as Rue from the first Hunger Games movie.

While others of you may know the actor from other acting roles, such as Starr Carter from the film version of "The Hate U Give", or their role as Alana Beck in the film version of "Dear Evan Hansen", or even their singing career or activism in politics, Amandla Stenberg is a prominent figure in today's society.

Amandla Stenberg is amazing at what they do, and I hope to see more films with Stenberg in them, and they are beautiful.

Long live Amandla Stenberg.

Julia Lester as Ashlyn Caswell in High School Musical: The Musical: The Series

In one of my favorite shows known as High School Musical: The Musical: The Series, the actress Julia Lester has caught my attention in her strong character arcs as the unique Ashlyn Moon Caswell — how within four seasons, the show transformed her character from being known as just “EJ’s Cousin” to various levels of confidence within each of the four seasons.

Julia Lester’s character has to be my favorite from the show. She has so many arcs, she’s beautiful, she’s unique and doesn’t fit into just one label.

She also has the best songs in the series:

Rising is usually in my top 100 playlist on Spotify because it’s because a beautiful ballad that encapsulates her inner struggle with her identity, which is a prominent arc in Season 3.

This is another one of my favorites. It is at the top of my On-Repeat playlist on Spotify as of now. I like that it’s a modern love-ish power ballad with broadway quality. And when you listen to it non-stereo, you can hear the panning of the instrumental.

Anyways…After Dove Cameron, she’s my celebrity crush. She’s just so confident (eventually) and she epitomizes diversity in so many ways.

"Lethal Woman" has literally been my go-to song when I'm feeling down or needing a confidence boost. The energy in this song is amazing, and it's awakening.

I feel like reaching 22 took too long. And I have only a few hours to get myself prepped for 2024

This year was so much drama. I almost reached happiness, I almost had a dream I could see, and then it went away.

Hopefully 2024 brings joy. If not, I’m entering my villain era.
