in general, i tag nhl/pwhl players with their initials + current number (i.e., macklin celebrini = #mc71)

the exceptions to this rule are: [1] will smith hockey (#wsh2), because i added the 'h' on instinct and i'm too lazy to standardize it; [2] william eklund (#we72) because i will forever mourn his trade + number change; [3] marie-philip poulin (#mpp) for pretty much the same reason as wsh

anyone who does not yet have an nhl/pwhl number is tagged with their full name (i.e., #ryan lin, #laila edwards). i'll update the tag once they choose their number!

rpf/ship tags

consist of the players' combined numbers (i.e., willmack = #271)

i try to keep rpf/shipping posts separate from the standard player tags. this means anything tagged with #271 will not also be tagged #mc71 and #wsh2.

exceptions: boston college line uses their bc numbers (#6934), #mackleno, #willeno.

teams - really only used for general ensemble posts. most posts will be tagged with specific players rather than teams.
