“Holy crap, are you okay?” Tala rushed over, crouching beside him and looking over his body, hands outstretched but not sure if she should touch him. “What do you need? Should I call for the guards? Do you need to go to the hospital?” This was not how she was expecting to spend her last shift at Whitmore’s.
“Water” he said quickly, looking up at her. “It’s hot. It’s so hot” he squeezed his eyes shut, silently willing his body not to shift. He would stay in bed for days, would throw up everything inside, he didn’t care as long as he didn’t shift here and now.
