I love how you can sorta tell who did some of the art based on the art style. that being said I have no clue who did what in the animation ones (with the exception of the ones I know I did, including the last frame of the flying gif where cas does a family guy death pose bc someone didn't include any animation notes so I thought he was falling, not going up ,_, (I also started the viscacha!cas prompt and turned the furry cas from a cat to a dog oops)

IDK I just think Cas would eat pistachios or sunflower seeds or whatever with the shells still on. it was an accident the first time because he truly didn't know, but the way Sam gets disgusted is funny and the way Dean starts fussing and shelling them for him = incentive to keep doing it and claim he forgot because he's very old and has holes drilled in his brain.

That's his best friend of 12 years. That's the guy he has stayed up late having soul-to-soul conversations with. They have driven thousands of miles together with nothing but a tape deck for company. Dean knows what Castiel thinks of himself. He knows Cas lives every day under the shame of the things he's done and that he believes he is a weapon doing penance for daring to believe he could be more than that.

And Dean has maybe thought this, from time to time. How much of a fuckup Cas is. But he'd always push it aside, because he also knows that Cas' mistakes have always been for right reasons, have always been for the sake of their friendship and their shared values. He's a fuckup, but he's Dean's fuckup. And Cas wondered for so long what Dean's last straw was going to be, you can see his anticipation at the end of season 11, at the beginning of season 13, that Dean's not going to forgive him this time. They both tentatively believe by now that Dean doesn't have a final straw. Not like that, not when it comes to Cas.

"Why does that something always seem to be you?"

That line is so intricately crafted. It could only be spoken by Dean, only because he knows Cas at his core. It's every fear Cas has ever had thrown back in his face. It's you, Cas. You're the thing that's wrong, you always have been, and your mistakes were never truly forgiven. There was always a secret scoreboard in Dean's mind, and you finally lost.

It's beyond devastating. Honestly, in some ways I'm surprised that Dean's apology in Purgatory even worked. That they ever recovered from this moment. The absolute sincerity and vulnerability Dean showed... did it really heal that core wound in Cas? Did it really convince him that Dean didn't mean it? Sometimes I wonder.
