My half marathons for 2017 (I think). Three in the spring and at least one in the fall. Haven't signed up for them all yet.
First half marathon of 2017 is in the books! I just wanted to finish & have fun. My race was great and I left there feeling a little tired, but overall, pretty good! This was my 8th half marathon ever - which I think is a decent accomplishment.
Just trying to stay healthy
So, was anyone else knocked on their ass because of a vicious flu this year? I've had about three rounds of it - head cold, cough, exhaustion - and am hopefully on my way out. As a result, my training is not where it is supposed to be, but I've signed up for coaching through Steel City Road Runners and have been going to as many training runs as possible in the last week. I'll post more concrete running goals tomorrow, but this is probably my top one - just stay healthy.
Well, I’ve signed up for three half marathons in 2017 already - busy spring so far!
Water challenge - day 1
I'm going to try to drink 100 oz of water each day. I'm halfway through & I already think I'm going to float away. I'm also craving salt.
Two posts in one day?!? Just a quick reminder of how far I've come this year! Pit half wasn't my best, but all in all, I did okay even in the crazy rain - 2:48:36. PATH OF THE FLOOD would have been great (seriously awesome course), however high humidity is my kryptonite - even with that, I dropped 4 minutes off my time (2:44:53). Peace, Love, Run 13.1 was a miserable race (not a fan of the course & I had stomach issues), I finished faster than my Pit time (2:48:01). Can't wait to see what the Indiana Pa Veterans half brings!
Trying to stay motivated
*sigh* it's been a crazy October and it's not even half over. I have been traveling a lot - which makes it hard enough to train... and thanks to a miserably high humidity count in the awful motel I stayed in last weekend, have been dealing with a cold/allergy issue all week. However, I'm going to the gym tonight! Even if it is just to use the elliptical, I've got to get back into the swing of things! My next race is rapidly approaching - 1/2 marathon on Nov 6th.
Green juice is my least favorite, but it is a necessary component in any juice cleanse
Trying to get my nutrition under control (and stop eating stuff that's awful for me. So it's juice cleanse time!
Got a new PR today - 33:31! Conditions were perfect for running. My new goal is to break 30 minutes.

Juice cleanse now that I'm done with spring half marathon season. Just because I'm not the fastest, doesn't mean that I can't work at it and get healthier and stronger.
Now that I've finished my spring/early summer half marathons, I'm transitioning to shorter distances. As part of my training, I want to include some cross training, so this challenge seems like a good place to start.

Had a great run this morning at the Sandcastle 5k - I felt really good, even in the heat.
