âiâm really glad i got to meet you, sunbae,â misaki said gently, squeezing nayoonâs hands. âyou were a great teammate. iâm really happy for you-- i hope coven is very successful.â

@rvmisaki
âiâm really glad i got to meet you, sunbae,â misaki said gently, squeezing nayoonâs hands. âyou were a great teammate. iâm really happy for you-- i hope coven is very successful.â
âoh, you have new hair! did you just get that done?â misaki asked her best friend, a tiny smile on her face. âwe match now...â
âthis is fucking insane,â rhiann said, peeking out at the crowd gathered to see them from the wings of the stage. japanese promotions were typically good for vega, but this was a whole new level. ânot too bad for a couple of idol project runners up, and two who couldnât even get on the show in the first place, i guess.â @rvizumiâ @kaorviâ @rvyooiâ @rvmisakiâ
âi donât even think i count as a runner up,â misaki retorted with a sheepish smile, trying not to panic at the sheer size of the crowd. âcompass had some big crowds like this, but i never had to sing in front of them... this is too much....â
âyou know what i want to do? a pirate concept,â chaemi said in a sing-song voice, humming to herself as she hung upsidedown on the common-area couch. ânot lame pirates, either. a real pirate concept. like legacy sunbaenims. i just think thatâs what kpop is missing these days.â @rvjoohyeâ @rvmengxiaâ @kaorviâ @rvmisakiâ @rvdylanleeâ @rvisisâ @jinheervâ @rvchaeliâÂ
âthat could be fun. i think i would look cool as a pirate,â misaki agreed with a tiny smile. âi donât know if i have the presence to really take it all the way, though...â
rvxlanceâ:
âhey, itâll be fine! donât even worry,â he assured her, her nerves and fear making his dissipate. having someone to help make comfortable made his own fears completely disappear. âi know some japanese from himari and fuka, i can help you out. iâll make sure you donât get overwhelmed or lost in the show either, okay?â
âi donât know. usually ryan and izumi are here. or even kaori-- theyâre way better on camera,â misaki insisted. she and yue were the shyest vega members-- going on this show alone was overwhelming. âoh, i didnât know you knew japanese,â she replied, wide-eyed. âi.... okay. i trust you.â
âweâve done a lot together, havenât we,â yue mused softly, taking misakiâs hand and squeezing it lightly as the stylists fit them for the next vega concert. âwho would have known, back when we were in compass, weâd end up here?â @rvmisakiâ
âoh, not me. i thought that once i had to graduate from compass, everything was over,â misaki admitted, squeezing yueâs hand back. âiâm really proud of us too. you look great. vega suits you.â
âyou wouldnât happen to be familiar enough with this building to be able to give me directions, would you?â antonio asked apologetically, slouching down to speak to the young woman in the lobby. âshit, iâve seen you on tv, havenât i? are you famous?â @rvmisakiâ
âwell, i work here, so i know enough-- it depends on where you want to go,â misaki answered, offering the tall man a small smile. âoh? famous? i wouldnât say so.... i am an idol, though. and i was on a competition show this year....â
âiâm going to be honest, i have no idea what iâm doing,â lance said with a laugh, pushing his hair back. millenium had him and junghoon doing the variety circuit for a while, and despite no one knowing who they were, they kind of gained a followingâ to the point that when one of the shows needed a 1-week fill in MC, theyâd actually given him a call. âi feel like iâm gonna fuck all this up. i just need to apologize in advance.â
âoh... you donât have to be sorry. i should be sorry,â misaki answered soberly. âiâm bad at these shows. my korean isnât very good, and i get shy and nervous. iâm probably going to be so bad to be on screen with....â
âi think my favorite part of lalalilala is how much of a supervillain i got to look like,â mo said, chin resting on their hand. ânow or never was fun, but if i got to look like an anime villain every comeback, i think iâd be living the dream. i wish i could just bring that era back.â
âitâs too bad that you donât get to choose the concept. i thought that concept really suited all of you,â misaki commented.
rvizumiâ:
âwhat are you on about, misaki,â iz retorted, brow furrowed. âweâve been friends since we were children. i havenât changed. what has gotten into you?â she shook her head. âthose people hate me, and have gotten into your head.â
âthey donât hate you, they just donât like you. and itâs because youâre not nice to them. and youâve made me be not nice to them either,â misaki insisted, trying to stay firm. âweâve been friends for a long time, but that doesnât mean i canât be friends with other people. and that doesnât mean i have to go along with everything you say.â
rvjessâ:
âi think they do too. i try hard, but i donât have the range haena did. singing my own songs, i feel so much less inadequate.â
âi wouldnât beat yourself up for that, though-- no one has the same range haena did,â misaki said with a little laugh. âyou guys are huge, though. fans donât seem to mind that youâre different.â
âiz, we need to talk,â misaki said nervously, playing with the hem of her sweater. âi.... i donât like how youâve been treating me lately. or our groupmates. theyâre my friends, and i think you need to be kinder.â @rvizumiâ
rvjessâ:
âyeah, i feel you. itâs why i feel so weird whenever we perform old reign songs. likeâŠ..i feel like a body double or something. itâs so much easier when im performing my songs,â she agreed.
âyour songs suit you a lot better anyway,â misaki answered shyly with a tiny smile. âitâs better when youâre not pretending to be someone youâre not.â
rvjessâ:
âsomi made her choice, and so did new age. believe me, if anyone understands how you feel, itâs me. but you just have to dive in and embrace it.â
âit does feel special to get to perform. and now that weâve had a comeback, it feels like iâm more in the group,â misaki admitted. âiâm not doing somiâs part. iâm doing mine, you know?â
rvohkyungâ:
âI have to admit, Iâm curious how close your guess would be to how it really was,â Ohkyung replied with a laugh. âI was working with a thrift shop budget, if thatâs any indicator.â
âoh, thats not what i had in my head,â she giggled. âi was thinking about.... when the concept of rap first came to asia, and you had boys who were rappers trying to dress how they thought that looked, to be honest...â
rvliaâ:
âthe states have tons of laws for this shit. asia should catch up. exploiting kids like this is a recipe for disaster.â
âi guess maybe i see it differently because i grew up in it...â misaki admitted with a little shrug. âi just donât think itâs a big deal, if the kids are being taken care of. we expect them to go to school 9 hours a day. why is this so much worse?â
âI came across a couple of photos of myself when I was cleaning earlier from when I first arrived in Seoul. I actually donât think Iâve seen someone try so hard to look like a badass as I did then as a teenagerâitâs no wonder I got turned down all those times at auditions,â Ohkyung said with a dry chuckle.
âyou canât just say that and then not show pictures. now iâm imaging what you must mean, and it looks terrible,â misaki giggled
