like, i can see liking ironwood! he's a strongly-written character and when he first appeared i was so here for him. but it feels incredibly bad to see somebody who actively called for millions of people lower on the socioeconomic rungs to be bombed as a bargaining chip--and MEANT it--being called "the best" in any context. he and winter alike are interesting characters whom i love, but as people? sickening, and i hate that it feels like winter's already on the "omg she's reformed! she's so perf" train

anon you’re absolutely right, i just have a lot of personal reasons why i enjoy him. besides, it’s hard to hate a character with awful and unintentionally ableist writing. if they’re hated by the fndm, chances are i love the character.

but i agree, i hate how winter is suddenly “redeemed”. she’s the same character who went along with his plans until she randomly wanted to dip, and showed no remorse to an innocent man being shot.

listen, i absolutely adore the atlas characters. james, winter, the ace operatives—i love them. but let’s not sit here and pretend they are perfect characters by any means.

“You’re nodding off… hey, come on, you need sleep.”

“I can’t… you’re going to have to carry me.”

“Hey, you passed out. Do you remember what happened?”

“No more today, you’re at your limit.”

“You’re starting to ramble, you need rest.”

“What was that over there…? Did you say something?”

“My subconscious isn’t exactly allowing me to get some damn sleep.”

“I don’t even have the energy to be defiant… I must be messed up.”

sometimes i think the d/c comics might redeem themselves, but no, each time they only manage to get worse

for instance: k/ali’s speech here is EXTREMELY offensive. i could have accepted it only if she had specified what kind of boys girls have to - i quote - “rescue”, “gentle”, “save” and “CIVILIZE” (what are they? animals? smfh). but the way this crap is worded, it makes you think that women are always, in any case, supposed to “fix” men.

which, for one, is not true at all. girls, just for being girls, are not “supposed to” do ANYTHING for other people, no matter the gender. 

and also, second, it implies that ALL boys are like that.

now, i get all the “girl power” theme going on in here, but this is some peak misandry i didn’t think it would have reached. not only this comic takes most male characters out of the picture completely, rewrites the story like a bad fanfiction, and has some horrible, HORRIBLE art, but it also delivers some terribly written dialogues like this one.

what if a girl was the one who needed to be “saved”? why can’t this be written as something aimed at everyone indistinctly? because yes, sometimes, if we love someone, we can try to save them, as in preventing them from getting into trouble, or try to “fix” them by making them realize that something they did was wrong. that is absolutely valid and - i hope - it was what the comic was actually trying to convey. but, again, with the way it’s worded, it makes you think that women are some sort of deity meant to fix men just because they are… well… men.

RWBY

Blake and Ruby are avid readers (but Ruby won’t admit it)

Yang is always on hand for pick up lines

Ask Weiss for romantic settings, she oddly enough has a ton in mind

(is it wrong that i see Blake snuggled up to them whenever they sit down to do some writing?)

they’re all pretty cool about it, except Yang. who’ll occasionally act like the love interest in the story and see how long it takes for them to catch on (her record so far has been about 15 minutes)

CFVY

They’re gonna have to deal with Coco thinking it’s the same as erotica

she has the dirtiest mind, Velvet loves it whenever they write a really cute/fluffy scene, Fox seems pretty indifferent, and Yatsuhashi is great to bounce ideas off of

they’re all somewhat normal about it(most of the time), it’s just something their s/o enjoys doing

Velvet is an excited beta reader, Fox and Yatsuhashi will read if they ask

Fair warning, Fox will occasionally quote some of the cheesier lines, just to try and get a reaction. he’s actually into the stories, but no one can get him to admit it

he doesn’t really leave their side

“it’s alright. their gonna be okay.” he repeats over and over, trying to keep them from getting to the point of tears

goes with them to visit, not wanting them to be alone during this

Mercury

he’s honestly pretty awkward about comforting them but tries his best

quietly comforts them, not saying much, but staying with them

oddly enough, whenever he does leave their side it’s usually to bring them something, whether they asked or not

Sun

before realizing what was going on, his “boyfriend sense” was tingling, something was up

his version of comfort is kinda like distraction, random humor to try and get them to crack a smile or something before asking what’s really bothering them

pretty physical in his comfort, holding their hand, an arm around them, or the like

Ruby

she’s pretty quick to realize something is up

doesn’t force them to tell her what’s wrong, just reassures them that they can talk to her about anything at anytime

very committed to sticking by them every step of the way, especially when visiting, holding their hand and keeping a close eye on them at all time, and just being attentive

Yang

noticed something was up with them the moment she saw them

when she saw them, her first reaction was to hug them and ask what was wrong

upon learning what happened, she does her best to try and get them to relax

is it wrong that I totally imagine them meeting because they think he’s hurt?

he’s wounded as hell, but doesn’t feel a damn thing and they’re having a mini heart-attack over this stranger who should totally be dying

(but my personal fanfic aside) 

Hazel is pretty protective of them once in a relationship

he’s a worrywart despite seeming so calm all the time

keeps them far from Salem’s reach, making sure that she doesn’t even know they exist(neither do any of the others honestly)

he’s oddly affectionate, going as far as to initiate hugs, cuddles

the size and strength difference between the two of them is probably one of his favorite things

if he wants to cuddle or something, he can legit just pick them up

after working with Salem and the rest of team WTCH all the time, his s/o is a sanctuary of calm and kindness

they often have to treat his wounds, because he’ll say he’s fine and ignore his injuries

^these are honestly very calm and intimate moments. the conversation is pretty minimal and both of them are just glad that the other is here with them instead of facing the harsh world

"I'm pregnant." Both of his daughters repeat themselves.

"Don't turn this on me. Pregnant or not, I need to have a little talk with the other parent."

Taiyang had completely checked out of the conversation.

His babies were having babies?

He should be excited. He was going to be a grandpa. But...

No. No 'buts'. He was going to be a great grandpa.

"Girls." He spoke up catching his children's attention.

He engulfed the both of them in a tight hug. Smiling widely the whole time.

"Dad?" Ruby squeaked out.

"Tight." Yang finished, making her father immediately backing off quickly.

"Sorry. But I'm going to be a GRANDPA!" Tai was visibly excited now.

"You're pregnant?!"

The three of them turned to see Qrow with a look of complete shock and slight horror on his face.

Raven with an S/O that basically reenacts the dance off scen from Guardians of the galaxy. As in the situation seems dire, but then they start dancing to distract the enemy and leave the enemy wide open for attack

Another wild one but very fitting.

Raven bit her lip to trying and distract herself from the pain she was feeling in most of her body.

Her tribe was attacked and she was utterly blindsided by their sheer power. Her shock ultimately led to her being unable to fight back after they took down each member of her tribe.

That included her s/o who was always one to keep standing no matter what. But she couldn't even see them and her mind was filling with worst case scenarios. Until she heard sluggish padding of footsteps.

Turning her head she saw them walking up to their attacker.

"Stop!" She called to them but they ignored her.

Their attacker seemed amused by their bravado and let them approach and stop a short distance from them. Before it took a turn she would never be ready for.

Scroll in hand, they started playing music.

And dancing.

Apparently she wasn't the only one in shock because their attacker stared in confusion.

"What the hell?"

"Dance off!"

Raven looked toward her right hand, Vernal, to see that she was just as confused but on her feet.

Raven turned back to the...current display. Before she noticed that her s/o had their enemy's complete attention.

"Vernal." Whispered to her right hand woman, gesturing to their attacker.

"What are you doing?" Their attacker seemed at their limit, tired of being confused.

"Distracting you, you turd blossom!"

At that moment Raven and Vernal attacked together working in tandem to finish their attacker.

"That was a way of taking care of that." Vernal remarked glancing over at both Raven and her s/o.

"A very stupid one might I add." Raven turned to her s/o.

"Please. I saved the tribe. And I got to show off my amazing dance moves." Her s/o was smiling proudly.

"You could've gotten hurt." She remarked, giving them a sharp glare.

"I refuse to feel about this."

Headcanon for whether or not Weiss would get breast implants if she could?

This is one of the wildest asks I've gotten while running this blog. Probably takes the cake for the wildest.

Personally, I don't think she would. I see her in being soundly confident in her physique. Maybe it's been a thought, but she'd dismiss it rather quickly.

Can I request a scenario where qrow finds out his s/o is being worked to the bone because everyone at their job is throwing their (the coworkers) onto the s/o, and they constantly fall asleep cuz they’re so tired (hope that makes sense??)

This was getting a bit difficult. Qrow hasn't been able to do much with his s/o.

They stayed at work for far longer than they used to. When the two of them did spend time together, they were fast asleep.

Watch a movie together, sleep before the ten minute mark.

In the middle of a conversation, they went quiet and he glanced over to see them passed out.

He's pretty sure they fell asleep standing once.

Qrow enjoyed napping. It's a great way to pass the time. But they weren't napping, they were getting much needed sleep. The question was why they weren't sleeping normally.

"Babe, glad you're home." The huntsman greeted upon seeing his s/o walk through the door.

"Hey~" Their voice proved that they were dying for sleep.

Before they could make it to their shared bedroom, he stood and blocked their path.

"Babe. What's going on here? Are you not sleeping?" Qrow's eyes searched them for any change in emotion that might show if they'd lie or dodge the question all together.

"Just tired from work." Their blink was extremely sluggish.

No lie. Apparently, they had no strength or energy to lie.

"Why? Work never made you this exhausted. You can't even keep your eyes open."

"I'm looking at you, right?" They joked, but only got a stern glare from Qrow. "I'm doing the work of like eight people. Or maybe it's...I-I forget how many."

His red eyes widened in concern. Their train of thought a complete mess despite the conversation being very simple. To say he was pissed at their coworkers was a severe understatement.

But they weren't his top priority. His mess of an s/o was more important.

"How about you get ready for bed, I'll bring you dinner." He smiled gently, deciding to help them get the rest they need.

"Aww. That's so sweet." They gave him a hug, before walking passed him to get to the bedroom.

They were staying home tomorrow. And he was going to have a talk with their coworkers very soon.
