the same old shit – over and over again. the same people, the same speeches, the same music, the same everything. week after week being invited to these pretentious events were proving to be a bother, only exhausting her. unfortunately for her, the parties were mandatory to attend, it came with being a royal. playing the part, smiling as if you didn’t want to be anywhere else in the world ( when in fact it was the opposite ).
she watched as the rest of the crowd mingled, people were now far too drunk to care to greet the princess standing alone at the bar. of course, this was preferred seeing as she’d rather not socialize with such vain and arrogant people. at least she looked good – no, good is an understatement – amazing.
at least her sisters were enjoying themselves. it brought a light smile to her lips watching them dance and laugh. how it must be nice to be so carefree and unhinged. if taeha were to do the same, the media would portray her as unstable, erratic and insane. not that she would act so freely to begin with. but then her peace was disturbed by a drunk man. a good looking drunk man for that matter – jihun, serves under the yang family as a duke. she was familiar with him.
“is this you way of trying to sleep with me?” she raised a brow in response, taking a sip from her drink before continuing. “might not want to be so forward in public, jihun. there are many people watching.” she smiled, amused. “there are many pretty girls on the dance floor already, perhaps you’d rather choose one of them instead?”
his eyes tear away from her face after he speaks before they scan around the room, hand pushing its way into the pocket of his pants while the other is preoccupied with sloshing the liquid in his glass.he may be drunk, but he hadn’t had that much to drink (only 3 or 4 glasses of bubbles). so of course when her words come out rather blunt he cant help but allow a smirk to grow on his features. “i am merely admiring your beauty. does me admiring your beauty make it seem like i want to sleep with you?”
an airy laugh escapes past his lips and he finds himself, gazing back to her face and holding her gaze. he knew deep down that she was right, that the fact he had even bothered with talking to her was in fact to see if he could strike lucky. after all he could never say no to a pretty face.
the way she says his name catches him off guard a little but it adds to the excitement of the chase she puts on. “ah but, in case you didn’t notice the people here are so wound up in themselves they wouldn’t notice a duke flirting with a princess.” he presses the glass to his lips and takes a sip before he responds back to her once more. “but none of them compare to the beauty of you taeha- your highness.”
