we've lost power. again!

and i cannot stress enough how abnormal this is. we haven't lost power this often in my hometown since we moved here when i was four. i am 30 years old this year. some people believe this area hasn't lost power this much EVER and its mostly my 50 - 60 yr old coworkers.

and i had to work today so the my place of gainful employment was hot, dark and i had to do all my work under flashlight so my eyes hurt.

i am absolutely the type of writer who gets hung up on little things. little things that may or may not make it to the final project but make up the fabric of the characters i'm writing about, for better or for worse. this is especially true when the setting is special to me.

all this to say! the fact that [redacted] and [redacted] tend to share peach cheyennes after too many vodka cranberries when they're on tour is important and of note. to me.

I have a trans man story about this.

Since I’m pre-t I still have my period but since I’m socially out as trans I use men’s bathrooms. One time at the college the family bathroom was taken and so I went into the men’s room to do my business. I tried opening the little pad as quietly as I could manage, but the rustling and ripping sound still happened. I froze in silence because I didn’t know if the other guy in the men’s room heard it or not.

Then after a little bit of silence I hear…

“Who has a bag of chips?”

And in a panic I just whisper back to him “I’m not sharing.”

Then I hear a huff before he finished his business and left.

as for good news that's happened to me: my dad accidentally found my long lost necklace from my CHILDHOOD that i have always been so disappointed in myself for losing when i was young. i was able to clean it and i am wearing it right now.

its missing a few gems on the pendant and it definitely needed an extender for me to wear it but i am so happy it was found. i love it so much.
