author's note: i realized a lot of my writing ends up No Pronouns and technically gn. that being said, i did write w/ fem!reader in mind but. no descriptors! will be trying my bestest to correct that, i gotta learn how to achieve it better in the whole second person thing.

It's like the entire Watchtower sighs a breath of relief when you finally show up.
"Took ya long enough!"
Guy is the first one to greet you โ as usual โ with a hearty slap on your back and a grin. You give him a nudge to his side in return, earning a little chuckle from the man who is all too eager to be in your personal bubble.
"What can I say? I do the job and I do it well," you reply.
The adrenaline is starting to wear off from the previous mission you'd just completed, a familiar soreness settling into your overexerted muscles. It's been a long ass day. But in spite of your newfound exhaustion from a task that dragged far longer than you had expected, you're able to shoot a smile back. Guy has a way of lifting your spirits, even when you're actively battling the urge to collapse.
The sweet sentiment about Guy is not shared by the rest of your superhero colleagues โ who have been stuck dealing with him in your absence. You'd have to be an idiot to not recognize how obnoxious he can be. He's hot-headed, abrasive, annoying, but somehow, you put up just fine.
It's true, Guy's not for everyone, but you'd lovingly call him "an acquired taste." Others would say that "unrelenting pain in the ass" fits him better. Potato, potahto.
You stretch your arms over your head, knowing damn well that no amount of stretching would mitigate the ache in your body that you were sure would follow soon.
"I need a drink," you groan.
Before you can make a move to leave, Guy slings his muscular arm over you โ not an odd occurrence between the two of you. In fact, you lean right into his side without question.
"The one you've been savin' in the Watchtower fridge?" He asks, cocking an eyebrow up.
"Uhโฆ yes?"
"Drank it."
"Guy! What, like โ all of it?!"
The shameless shrug of his shoulders tells your everything.
"How was I s'posed to know? Didn't have your name on it," he replies casually.
"IT LITERALLY DID!"
"He's your problem now," Batman mutters over to you as he passes. For a moment, you had forgotten that the two of you weren't alone around here. You and Guy shoot each other a look, falling into a lapse of silence. The glare that you give him doesn't last very long โ not when he's giving you that stupid smirk.
"Looks like my problem owes me a drink," You laugh, tilting your face ever so slightly closer to his. He's unsure if you know that you could get absolutely anything in the world with that look on your face, all bright eyed and giggly โ it doesn't take long for Guy to relent, at least.
"Whatever y' say, babe."

author's note: my research was looking at various swimsuit covers. had to write something on the beach before summer ended becuz... duh. again, the taste for this request?? immaculate. i adore nancy sinatra. hoping the rest of the songs do this playlist justice! it's more vibes based than lyric based, i must admit.
You wipe the sheen of sweat from your brow with the back of your hand, squinting as you stare out into the sunny horizon.
All things considered, you should be relaxed โ it's a beautiful day out on the beach. You're sitting under an umbrella, hiding from the bright rays of the sun as you watch the glittering blue waves of the ocean roll in. Golden sand beneath your feet, gentle breeze against your face โ and still, you find no pleasure in any of it. You haven't even considered taking a dip to cool off, which makes the swimsuit you're wearing completely useless. Every cell of your body wants you to do something, anything other than just sit around on a beach towel. The inaction feels wrong.
Not that you're trying to be a buzzkill. You've made yourself somewhat content with watching the rest of the X-Men enjoy the hot summer day, particularly entertained by the group of them that have broken off into a particularly intense game of beach volleyball โ the chatter of the heated competition distracts you from your burning urge to be productive.
"Y' should join 'em."
You don't have to look over your shoulder to figure out who it is. You can hear the hint of a smile in that gruff tone, the suggestion to get yourself out there more teasing than legitimate.
"With the way Gambit is spiking that ball?" You laugh, turning to face Logan, who's plopped down beside you, "โฆno, thank you. I like my beach time spent uninjured."
"Haven't seen y' out there at all, darlin'. Got an issue with the sun?" Logan asks, tilting his head towards you. If your eyes flicker over his muscular form, his bare torso, or the way the swim shorts he's wearing hang just low enough to allow a glimpse of his v-lineโฆ well, that's neither here nor there, now is it? No. You're certain you're subtle enough about it. You do start wishing you brought sunglasses though.
With a shrug your shoulders, you come up with an excuse,-hearted and unconvincing. "Iโฆ didn't put sunscreen on yet."
You eye the bottle right beside you. He lets out a low chuckle, standing up and grabbing it before you can say anything in protest.
"Sure," He says, amused by the obvious lie. Logan opens the bottle and motions you to shift closer. The offer makes your face heat up slightly โ a feat, considering how hot you already feel. There's something in his eyes, the way his gaze shamelessly appreciates you, that makes your words falter for a moment.
So instead, you comply, turning your back to him.
"It's sweet of you to do this, but I'll do the rest by myselfโ" The sudden sensation of the cold sunscreen against your back causes a shudder to run down your spine, and embarrassingly, a small squeak to escape your lips.
"Logan!" You scold, which draws out a laugh from the man โ a gravely sound that rumbles in his chest and makes your flustered state all the more difficult to get ahold of โ "geez! Warm it up first, will you?"
Calloused hands take their sweet time massaging at your shoulders and exploring the expanse of your back, spreading the sunscreen onto your skin with a touch that's near reverent, somehow gentle in spite of the firm touch. He leans in. You can feel his breath near your ear as he speaks and God, you pray that he doesn't notice how your skin prickles when he draws closer.
"Sorry." Logan, however, is completely unrepentant, amused by you and your flustered reactions, contrasting your cool indifference from just a moment ago when you sat here alone, spectating the others. He likes this much better.
"Couldn't wait to get your hands on me?" You ask, a little smile forming on your lips.
"With the way you're lookin' right now? Who could?"
He finds the tension in your shoulders, and ever attetive, makes an effort to massage it out. Even though you're near certain that the job of applying sunscreen has been completed a while ago, the way your muscles melt under his touch is too good to refuse right now. You let out a satisfied sigh, leaning into his hands.
"There we go," Logan says, approval colouring his words as he watches you unwind, "just had to coax it outta ya, didn't I?"
"Thanks for that," you reply softly, "โฆfor helping me with this. Think I needed it."
"What are you thankin' me for, huh? No better way to pass the time."
