anyway here's a list of things that are true in my version of things:

Everyone is older, the oldest of them being in their early twenties.

Fang is named Friday. He primarily uses sign language to communicate, but he can talk if he has to.

Nudge is named Dorothy (Dora for short, asked to be called that when she found out it was her real name).

Gazzy is named Gizmo.

Maya names herself Em.

Ari lives and becomes part of the flock.

Em is offered to join the flock after her fight with Max. She declines, but she does join later on.

That weird Dylan and Max were genetically made for each other plot thing does not happen. Em finds him when she makes her escape from the labs and he becomes part of the flock when she does.

The weird preachy save the word max you're the chosen one also isn't a thing here.

i think season ten grian is an osprey!!!!

another name they're referred to is "sea hawk" and one of their main prey is fish, and they have a very cool wing pattern

also osprey like to do really big dramatic graceful dives and in grian/gem's new episodes where they're going end busting, grian kept taking off his elytra to fall for a minute before catching himself and i think he would enjoy diving in the same way an osprey would!!!!

Idk! I have art block and this was fun, I think the designs are definitely inspired by the comics but I added a lot of personal head cannons + a couple more bird features.

Just headshots but I assigned each of them a specific bird too. Some are basically canon and some I took more liberty with like Angel being a white heron. I think it’s neat! Still fits her pure white wings, but I think it fits all of Angel’s weird aquatic stuff nicely. Also; herons are predators and I enjoy making her uncanny. I considered owl too, more similar to Gazzy and possible more in line with all the mind stuff but I just think herons are cool and kinda spooky.

Me when I and @toadsinstilettos completely overhaul the erasers: they’re much more wolf!

They’re much more akin to full on werewolves, operating on the concept of lycanthropy being a disease that they are administered in order to transform. They are then administered an antidote and have fully human forms that they can return to. They’re also given pretty heavy dosages of (something we haven’t decided what) highly addictive when they shift. Incentive, baby.

Much more sciencey (very fantastical science, given) than the seemingly? Magical way the erasers in Max ride actually work!

These two are a hyena and a maned wolf hybrid, two that I imagine are much later lines created for specialized functions. I’ve also drawn up timber wolf and dingo hybrids after a lot of very silly research on the capabilities of certain canine species :)
