I'm so glad that I get to be queer in this day and age. we still have far to go but there's so much queer joy in my life. I love you my friends. I love you strangers and loved ones alike who see me for who I am. I love you people who saw me visibly queer and smiled like my existence alone made their day a little easier. we've been here for humanity's entire history. we're here right now, alive on planet earth. and we'll be here for humanity's entire future. there's so much queer joy to come. I'm so excited to experience it with all of you in this lifetime [:
For everyone who ‘used to love reading’ but now hasn’t finished a book in years, you CAN get it back. Genuinely start bringing a book (preferably short and either fiction or a non fiction topic you already really enjoy) everywhere you go and when you have 5-20 mins waiting for the bus or at the doctors office or mechanic or whatever, get out your book and read it! You don’t have to finish it quickly or even read it often but it is so good for your brain and fun to get into the habit of reading more (and replacing being on your phone for those moments). Source: I read 0 books in 2023 and I’ve read 12 in the first 4 months of 2026
Heya
boy toys 🎾
tashi duncan’s whole life revolves around the fact that she is both devoted and disciplined to tennis but she can no longer play tennis while art is disciplined but not devoted and patrick is devoted but not disciplined and both of those things are glaring weaknesses that disgust tashi but she has formatted her life in such a way that these are the two people who are really in it and she really can’t let go because she’s chasing the high of watching them play together that one time a decade ago where she realized that together they could almost be as devoted and disciplined to tennis as she is
gonna start reverse-shipping. that canon couple is not dating actually. that kiss was entirely platonic and i dont see why you’re reading into it any other way. their parents are clearly roommates with benefits. when they say “boyfriend” they actually said “boy friend”. every character will become aromantic when i’m done with them
FUCK. honestly just FUCK. We missed a very important day yesterday.
what was yesterday, cat?
I’m not missing it this year.
happy raccoon birthday
hi yeah i know ive been on this medication for 8 years but i need-- yeah. yeah 3 more months please. I'll call you in 3 months to beg for 3 more months, thanks. Bye. Love you.
“oh I’m too old for stuffed animals” skill issue. sorry you can’t appreciate little creatures made to hang out with you, I on the other hand am full of joyous whimsy and therefore vastly superior.
The sooner you start, the sooner you'll be done with it and the sooner you can stop thinking about it. Go on, up you get, it won't be as bad as you think.
You won't want to do it later either. You might as well just do it now. Even if you don't finish it all, anything you manage to get done now is something you don't have to do later (when you still won't want to do it)
Good bitch, I'm glad none of your people have an ounce of loyalty to you
does that suck, mark? is it not fun to have your privacy violated? do you feel uncomfortable with people knowing things about you that you'd rather they not know? tell me more about how much you value your security and privacy, mark.
its probably a normal sign for the economy that all of my adulthood fantasies are like "imagine having your own kitchen living room and bathroom to decorate" "what if i could get on a train" "maybe one day i could purchase a sturdy pair of shoes" "i should save and invest in a single bicycle"
Is this about how ppl born in the late 20th century have a unique and fluid experience of navigating barriers to information access and its our responsibility to teach the younger folks how to tinker with technology to avoid being spoonfed everything we experience in order to have critical skills that keep us informed, autonomous, and able to hold power despite looming threats of authoritarianism or..........???
i love love lOVE the additional element of “the only information that’s free is the ‘how we’re going to hell’” BS. Chef’s kiss.
extremely funny when students get really into some harmless "vintage" activity to the point of absurdity. right now it's hacky sack, which is not something i ever thought i would see my students playing en masse. and yet here they are organizing competitive hacky sack teams. taking over any space they can to kick a hacky sack around. i had to chase a group to morning assembly today because they were busy playing hacky sack. just saw one of my students sending an email that said "stop adding randos to our team they're the worst sackers." 2026 year of the hacky sack ig
So they banned cell phones in school in my state and it has had some interesting lunchtime effects? I travel around the state and visit high schools and earlier this year I visited a teeny tiny rural school. Maybe 100 kids enrolled.
There were like 20 kids surrounding a table screaming for the entirety of the lunch period. Like half of them never even got food, some of them sent friends to get food for the group so they wouldn’t have to leave. I sit in this cafeteria trying to give kids information about college for 20 minutes and have like zero conversations because everyone is just going to stand around the table with the screaming. Eventually the curiosity gets the best of me. I stand up and walk over and ask wtf is going on.
They’re playing Dominos.
“Who is the internet even for anymore?” is such a valid question. Companies are sanitizing the internet and stifling natural human expression in the name of child safety and being family friendly, but the kids such as fuck aren’t benefitting from this. The internet is becoming too childish for adults and yet still too adult for kids.
