Across the Universe AU The music of the Beatles and the Vietnam War form the backdrop for the romance between an upper-class American boy and a poor Liverpudlian artist. Cas is an artist that arrives in America who meets Dean whilst trying to find his father. Dean invites him back to his house, and introduces him to his little brother, Sam, who Cas falls in love with despite the younger guys current girlfriend Jess. When Dean then drops out of school Cas doesn't see Sam until after his girlfriends death, when he comes to visit his big brother in their shitty shared apartment in New York. Their romance builds and fractures when Sam gets heavily involved in the anti-Vietnam movement following Dean's recruitment by working under Ruby, a strong voice of the peace movement. Basically I love this film and it fits perfectly.

Where Sam went through school and worked hard and was respectable and actually got out. He goes to work and does his work and works hard and whatever else. Of course, I don't think he'd really be happy knowing all that is out there. If he gave up right after they killed yellow eyes, he wouldn't have Jess to go back to and I believe that the whole school experience would be tainted. Unhappily normal, despite everything. Today is 50% because this was easy (not to self, set up queue), 50% because I've had this song stuck in my head all day.

My friend asked me today about a Strip Club AU, so here you go. Crowley would be the doorman and probably the one singing, let's be honest. I'm going old fashioned kind of because what can I say, I rather it. Sam and Dean are a brother act and Castiel is more or less a star attraction, although he was more or less reluctant to begin with. But another performer, Ruby, gets our darling Sammy into drugs, hence the appropriateness of the song. Ruby/Sam because I have a soft spot.

Dean realises that his brother is insane. He probably has been his whole life, talking about seeing an angel Castiel who burns a halo behind the head of unholy men. Men who need to be punished. Dean's grown up with the childish stories on the road as they were dragged around by their bounty hunter father. 

It wasn't long before Dean realised where Sam's getting it from- a subconscious thing that Sam's been picking up from the manilla file his dad keeps of mugshots. He also realises how much influence he has when his little brother is concerned. Sammy's got a conscience, so eager to purify and please. Good thing he has no problem punishing the men marked by an angel, oh, and being screwed by his brother when the adrenaline kicks in. 

That's before they bump into Jimmy Novak, a christian man who is the splitting image of the angel Sam's been seeing all these years. The brothers kidnap him and Sam becomes convinces that this is his angel trying to manifest himself into a corporeal body. If there's two people in the world that Sam looks up to it's his angel and his brother. It's no wonder then that he trusts Jimmy wholeheartedly when he starts to play along to the angel idea and has Sam falling fast for the idea of what he is. 

Well now Jimmy has a say whilst Sam sits cross legged and star eyed, and none of that sits well with Dean. Especially when Jimmy talks Sam into seeing the holy fire ringing his beloved brother's head. From there, well, it's just a question of who Sam looses faith in first- his co-dependent big brother or the angel to that he's based his morality. 

Okay, I'll admit, I've been meaning to write this as a proper multichapter fic, but i never had to motivation. If anyone cares, I know how it's going to end too.

Then Sam get's psychic abilities through interactions with the super villain known to them as The Morning Star, and trying to convert him to the dark side. Cas being a civilian who has similar powers to The Morning Star and helping keep Sam on the right path. Adorable Sam/Cas kisses at the tops of buildings whilst Sam resists turning darkside and insane. Cas joining the brothers and forming the kick ass crime fighting group, Team Free Will. Pretty, grungy, classic comic superhero au.
