hazem @albardawillhazem95 is 29 years old, and he is from gaza. last year, on october 11, hazem was at home with his family when their house was bombed by the israeli occupation. this bombing destroyed the house, and hazem was severely injured. he lay in a coma for days. when he woke up, he was told that his pregnant wife and his two children had been martyred in the attack. he was the only survivor.

now hazem is facing this unbearable reality alone. he has been displaced again recently, forced to leave where he was sheltering due to more bombing and shooting. he had to leave behind his phone, and now he has no way to come on here to make posts or communicate.

below are some pictures of hazem, with the names of his wife and children written on his arm. despite the pain and turmoil he is in, he is doing everything he can to survive, and we are able to help him.

hazem has raised £6,029 so far. his campaign has been suffering from stagnation for a while. he is a wonderful person, and he deserves for people to hear him and help him.

a donation of any amount will go a long way to helping hazem purchase a better shelter, as well as to afford the treatment he desperately needs, as he suffers from ongoing painful injuries as a result of the brutal attack on his home.

i really don't know what to say or do to get people to pay attention anymore. some of my fundraising posts get notes and some of them don't and it's completely random. people are getting more desensitized to palestinian suffering but things are just getting worse.

most infuriating comment I've seen on the internet was on some video I forgot what it was about but I think it was talking about petra in jordan or something and the commenter was like "this is why we need to take those artifacts to our museums where they can be appreciated because otherwise they will be destroyed by the wars there" and literally the blood boiled up to my head I honestly threw my phone away and had to go do something else for a bit. this was years ago. it is absolutely insane to me that there are people who exist out there who truly think this way and have no shame in it. they like our things and our culture but value their ability to "appreciate" them more than the peoples who made them and preserve them.

Everyone knows there has been an article written about him, when he was interviewed while in Gaza, and his family has been on the news before for tragic reasons. A significant portion of the users who have been advocating for him have followed him since November or December of 2023, and he posted videos and pictures frequently of his living conditions, including his face in the videos. It's not a matter of lack of knowledge, and even if it was there's no reason to be pursuing a 'guilty until innocent' perspective against him without it being very clearly racially motivated. Tumblr has thoroughly dehumanized the Palestinian users on this website and made the verbal abuse and harassment of genocide survivors an actual legitimate activity this website's users will partake in.
