[episode 10 scene spoiler]
Ship so good it’s made me draw straight people willingly lol
the er can be a very overstimulating place
Looking at how Becca was tonight’s episode it really puts a perspective on things from last week. Her pink manicure that Mel most likely paid for. Her phone that Mel pays for. The Center that I’m sure Mel pays some amount of. Becca can go out and make friends and have fun because of MEL!! She is paying financially, emotionally and mentally.
But Mel can’t be considered. They watch ELF because Becca likes ELF. She makes other plans for fireworks even though she knows Mel enjoys watching them with her and obviously didn’t plan on telling her until she absolutely had to.
I can appreciate Langdon trying to play devils advocate and try and help Mel by actually listening to her complaints.
But Becca doesn’t have to worry about consequences for her actions because she doesn’t have to bear responsibility. MEL DOES. Mel is left cleaning up messes to parties that she was never even invited to.

Mel volunteers at a suicide hotline.
The day after pittfest she takes a call from a familiar voice, who doesn’t immediately recognise hers, who tells her he doesn’t want to die but also doesn’t know how to survive this.
A voice who tells her that his wife left, and his boss kicked him out and that he’s climbing the walls because his body is in withdrawal.
In tears, the voice tells her that his options boil down to either facing the music and trying to claw his way back over the next five years, or giving up.
Mel knows him from the moment he says hello.
Frank doesn’t know it’s her until she comes to visit him in rehab.
Between S1 and S2, Mel tries to find some friends in the city, and ends up at an event that specifically aims to connect people seeking friends.
She meets a woman there and they get on well enough to get coffee. Her name is Abby, she has two kids, and her husband is "away" right now, whatever that means.
Mel does not like this husband of Abby's, he sounds horrible, and quite frankly, Abby fucking hates him.
As they spend a bit more time together, Abby confides in her, says her husband is in rehab right now for a drug problem, but she doesn't want her other friends and family to know, because she's so ashamed. Mel doesn't think that's the right way to approach addiction, and maybe shares some resources, and some insights from her time at the VA, but Abby doesn't really want to hear it.
With how strained this relationship is, Mel tells her honestly it's probably best to call it quits, because once you resent someone so much, how do you come back from that, does Abby want to come back from that? No, no she doesn't.
So the next time she sees Abby a couple of weeks later, Abby has served her husband papers, and she asks Mel her opinion on something important - should she go back to her maiden name or keep her current name? Mel, chagrined, admits she never actually caught Abby's last name.
"Oh, it's Langdon."
idc about medical accuracy season 3 of the pitt should be mel and frank getting sex pollened
Okay yearn-o-tron 3000 chill out (she wasn’t even talking)
But when he walks in,
I am loved, I am loved
Me and my husband.
We are doing better.
Frank as Mel’s dubiously ethical therapist?
it definitely starts out innocent! frank is a professional and he has other patients who he has set clear boundaries with and he reinforces those boundaries when it's necessary.
but mel.... she's different. She's sweet and soft spoken, timid and shy at first, always apologizing when she goes off on tangents during their sessions, but she stops apologizing when he tells her to stop. And she listens soooo well when he gives her "assignments" to work on during the week until their next appointment. He asks her to five nice things for herself and to document it all, he asks her to write down her feelings in a journal, etc etc
he learned early on that her mom died when she was in college and that she had to drop everything to take care of her sister and get everything settled again before she could continue with her education
but when he learns that her dad died when she was even younger, it all clicks for him. She needs someone to take care of her, someone older, stronger. Someone like him. It doesn't matter that he has a wife and two young children waiting for him, he has to be the one that mel looks up to, the person she depends on. He knows deep in his soul, that he's it!
after he has this realization, she shyly confesses that she's still a virgin, she never had time to date or to fall in love. This is when his assignments take on a different note.
the next week she comes into his office with her laptop and he helps her get it set up and drags her onto his lap. on it, a grainy video plays, the lighting is bad and so is the audio but frank is still hard as rock, watching on screen as mel fingers herself, whimpering and whining his name. he slides his hand into her shorts, copying her movements on screen, whispering filth into her ear.
so yeah, Frank is happy to take care of mel, and mel is happy right where she is
