🌱Some helpful tips to keep healthy house plants🌱

Pocket Altar
I made my pocket altar with all the essentials I use in spellcraft. I’m missing a small cloth that will complete the bundle but aside from that its ready to use.
Don’t mind my sad attempt to decorate lol.
Theres enough room for a small cloth to sit atop everything.
So inside the tin I glued a match strip and I made a bundle of matches with a cord that I can use for knotwork, binding, or circle casting and I can use it for my pendulum too.
I have a small bag of salt, some tobacco to substitute for any poisonous herbs a spell may call for and some rosemary to sub in for any regular herbs a spell could call for.
I have two crystals, one that I can use for quick pendulum questions using the cord or as a crystal wand and a tumbled one that I can quickly enchant to replicate any properties I may need it to do passively.
I have a bell for cleansing a space when incense cannot be used as well as the brown incense for cleansing a space too.
I have a tiny pencil I got from Ikea that I can use to write sigils or intent down as well as it doubles as a mini wand too.
The red Incense cone is my homemade Spellcraft Incense recipe designed to bolster your spells power. I have an shell for burning the incense on as well.
I have a white candle for any candle magic I may need and I have little paper pads for sigils or taglocks that I can burn to activate or leave behind or bury etc.
Lastly I have a 6 sided die for more complicated divination questions that a pendulum cant answer.
I also have a second pocket altar that is pretty much empty inside and I use it for when I have a spell planned that I want to do outside. I fill it with the necessary essentials and im off.

Get ya spice game up. I go to a local farmers market and get all my spices. They have a whole spice wall that I love.

So the subject for the Character Design Challenge on facebook this month is “Egyptian Gods” I’ve never uploaded something in there (and I probably won’t submit this one) but I realy like the subject so I gave it a go :3
Seriously does anyone know a good herbal dictionary of magical uses that ISNT Scott Cuningham???????
The Master Book of Herbalism by Paul Beyerl. My go to for all things plant and magic 🌙
I like Mrs. B’s Guide to Household Witchery, it’s part herbs and food corespondences and part ideas for ways to use them. Great for Cottage and Kitchen witches or those wanting to use everyday items. It is a gem.
The Encyclopedia of Magickal Ingredients by Lexa Rosean. It covers botanicals, minerals, fruits and vegetables. I’m constantly referring back to it. Fantastic resource.
Reblogging because I just discovered Lexa Rosean, and am binging through their books now. They’re fantastic.
I have that Lexa Rosean one but it’s not my fave, it’s… fairly cursory and limited in its scope. My personal correspondence-reference go to is The Complete Book Of Correspondences by Sandra Kynes (plus added personal notes; it has good sized margins for writing in as well as being easy to cross-reference with and fairly extensive, though not very in-depth beyond an overview correspondences list). Also I’m always gonna come back to recommending that, in the long term, you compile the information that’s relevant to your own practice yourself some way that’s practical for how you work (hence, for me, lots of notes added to book margins as well as a binder grimoire that I’m always adding to), and also do your own research from both magical and mundane sources to refine your knowledge.

WAHHHH WE LOVE THESE SO MUCHHHHHH (。♥‿♥。)
Herbs you can grow indoors.
Made this list for my fellow witchies who like their kitchen to be full of the green stuff :
Basil : like lots of sun and warmth. More difficult to grow in the winter months
Bay : needs plenty of sun and fresh air.
Chives : needs at least 6 hours of sun and plenty of water.
Dill : prefers slightly acidic soil, needs plenty of sunlight, doesn’t need too much water.
Lemongrass : My personal favorite as you don’t plant it in soil. Grow in a couple of inches of water. Easiest to grow.
Mint : needs plenty of water and needs to be placed in an area with indirect light. Harvest frequently.
Oregano : does not deal well with cold and drastic temperature changes could kill it.
Parsley : Doesn’t require too much light or maintenance, but is a slow grower.
Rosemary : needs 6 - 8 hours of strong, direct sunlight. Only water when the top layer of soil feels dry. Needs good ventilation. A bit trickier to grow.
Sage : Needs plenty of sun.
Thyme : Needs 6 - 8 hours of sunlight a day and maybe even supplemental light.
Stay safe and cozy everyone. 💖💖💖💕
Witch Tip:
If you’re interested in starting an indoor garden and need buckets, go to your local grocery store or bakery and ask if you can have their icing buckets. Most places just throw them out so they’ll give them away for free.
