man...... i am thinking abt Bond who like, seeks out rough sex (him bottoming) as a like subliminal/subconscious form of maladaptive sensation seeking bordering on (or tripping over into) like a form of physical self punishment.... and him going "harder, harder" with Q. But Q sees through all of that and insists on being gentle and tender.... and it's so good and lovely that it's almost too much, Bond almost can't stand it.......
obsessed with this idea because it forces bond to be face-to-face with his own personhood and participate, rather than enabling him to slip into this dissociative state and decouple himself from his own body. bond is the object of q's desire, not bond's body and wow is that delightfully uncomfy for him.

back from a mission with just a few scrapes and bruises
theyre very fuckin shipable all of them
blossoming romance writing prompts:
accidental hand touching
eye contact across a crowded room
exchanging secret smiles
first conversations alone
admiring them from afar
asking them about their family
visiting them at their place of work
discovering common interests
exchanging gifts for the first time
a surprise encounter
picking a leaf/flower petal out of their hair, or brushing dirt off of their face
nervous embarrassment around them (blushing, fidgeting etc)
complimenting their appearance
looking at their lips as they talk
finding excuses to be alone with each other
naturally gravitating closer together
noticing their individual quirks
hello/goodbye hugs that linger
talking late into the night
clumsy attempts at flirting
sharing long term dreams, goals and aspirations with one another
playful teasing
being unable to keep their eyes off of them
attempting to find out if they are single/available
finding comfort in their scent
creating art inspired by them
sharing an umbrella in the rain, or a coat/blanket in the cold
surprising them with their favourite treat
visiting their home for the first time
confiding in them

I think James Bond is absolutely more vanilla about sex than people expect him to be. He can and will do most things for a job, but when he's having sex with someone for pleasure? He likes to keep things simple.
I think he holds the belief that good sex - I mean really good, life-affirming sex - doesn't require bells and whistles. It doesn't need to involve power games or toys. It just requires two people who are really into each other.
I think he's absolutely obnoxious about this, too. Anytime a partner mentions a vibrator or a toy, he gets weirdly competitive about it. The furthest he'll go is using a blindfold or restraints, but those eventually get discarded, too.
I think he also thinks porn has become far too accessible and ubiquitous, not because people are tossing off more, but because it's made people worse at having sex. They're too busy trying to recreate a certain image than enjoying the sex for what it is.
Which leads me to my next point: I don't think he likes roleplay. He pretends to be so many things on the job that in his downtime, he prefers being himself. The one exception is pulling out his old Navy hat or service uniform. He's shameless about that - he's still a Commander, and he doesn't mind leaning into the cheeky military bit if his partner wants to shag a man in uniform. But he's uncompromising otherwise: don't call him anything other than James in bed. Don't expect him to call you anything other than your name, either.
Which isn't to say the right partner wouldn't be able to move the boundary lines a little. But he's a stubborn man and like anyone he has his preferences.

it's very easy to assign Bond as a "darling" guy, but. any thots on terms of endearment Q might favor? and/or ones that feel like they fit when applied to Bond?
I mean I can think of ones Dom Q would call Bond lol, but what about not-necessarily-Dom Q, hmm? or like, when he's not going to call Bond kitten or pet lol.
rather drawing a blank. I suppose this is where we reserve Q calling him James, as a sort of like. extra sign of closeness and affection.
I dunno, tho. I want, like. a real pet name. hm. will meditate on this some more
I can picture "my dear heart," but like, specifically in a like Bond broken down emotional possibly sobbing in Q's arms kind of scenario, and not really lighter than that..
maybe I need to assign Q and ethniticity lmao, so that we can conscript some non-English terms in here...
well. I suppose there's always "oh, you silly man" *drags him down by his ears and kisses him breathless*
piggybacking off of @cicerfics post about q’s dad jokes, i can totally see q amusing himself with increasingly absurd ‘pet names’ for bond. Especially when chiding him fondly.
Imagine: “well we don’t all have your propensity for resurrection, mouse pad”
“let me guess, lava lamp, a Komodo dragon ate it?”
he tries to make them as ridiculous as possible to get a rise out of bond for it.
