joker’s cards are based on chess pieces, card royalty (according to a royal flush) & suits.

‘Rookie’ is the Rook & King of Clubs, ‘Ace’ is the Pawn & Ace of Diamonds (Also slightly based on JLU Ace), ‘Mother Queen’ is the Bishop & Queen of Hearts, ‘Jack Spade’ is the Knight & Jack of Spades, Harley & Joker are the Joker cards (no suits as Joker cards do not have suits) and Queen & King chess pieces ^_^ each of the cards were people down on their luck who really had no other option than joining Joker and Harley’s gang

hes got a coat on instead of a suit because i want to make him stand out compared to some other villains as Not a Mobster and just a Freak.

i’ll do all the rogues/heroes descriptions when i do full art pieces for them… harley & ivy will simply get revised ones..

my scarecrow is selectively mute (doesn’t speak much anymore after becoming the scarecrow) and really only ever makes noises instead, unless he’s in a situation where he needs to talk (but even then he’s quiet and muffled due to the mask)

designs for pamela isley & harleen quinzel… love them

little descriptions for their frightverse counterparts under the cut

in this universe Pamela was the assistant to Jason Woodrue and studying botany, she never got her degree as during an experiment, Woodrue fed her to the plant toxin that he was creating, leaving her changed forever. Donning the identity of Poison Ivy, she uses her new found power for her own gain, doing dirty work for the highest bidder and such, but will occasionally step on up on her own to bring Gotham to it’s knees.

for Harleen, she became the infamous Harley Quinn after a series of interactions with a patient she treated as a psychologist at Arkham, becoming deeply obsessed to the point of mimicking his behaviors. She eventually gained his attention and now works as his right-hand (wo)man, leaving behind her old life for the thrills of being by the Joker’s side.

they meet while Harley is going solo, and become close friends. Ivy grounds Harley when she is returning to her manic state and in return, Harley helps to treat Ivy and helps her in her goals, no matter how crazy.

Even when Harley returns to the Joker’s side, she holds Ivy in high regard and doesn’t let Joker do anything to displease or act against her, even working with her still sometimes under his wing.

my freakcrow design rant (very self-indulgent. i love explaining my character designs)

this is him for context vv i made it a whle back now

i really like when the crow flies because of how they nailed his aura. just a fucking pair of bright blue orbs under his hat and the semblance of a mouth. anwyays guess what comic was the inspiration for my scarecrow design

it was actually a mix up between tim sale’s scarecrow and when the crow flies, the witche’s hat, finglerless gloves (although on my scarecrow it doesnt show his actual fingers. would be pretty shitty when you’re working with chemicals all the time, so its just a lighter colored fabric) and the rider’s boots.

but umm i also just added in a bunch of stuff like the green-ish webs and spiders because its halloween looking, i added the skulls as a nod to knightfall where he uses a skull that shoots out fear toxin, i imagine it would work the same here.

i also gave him a few belts rather than his suit being tied off by only rope like in many comics such as when the crow flies or that one comic where scarecrow was killing his childhood bullies. forgot the name, its been a bit. i think that was inspired by the arkhamverse scarecrow designs i honestly couldnt tell you where the red cape-ish thing came from. i think it was from an earlier design/concept because i didnt like drawing his shoulders and i just never got rid of it? the stick in the back too, im pretty sure. im not sure why thats there aside from the scarecrow theming.

anyways ill probably redo the reference sheet soon or do more concepts and all since its been a while and ive learned a lot
