having a cat is honestly way easier than i expected. she shits in the box. if she's had a good diet of wet food that day it doesnt smell. she buries it very thoroughly and politely smells it a few times, adding more sand on top until she cant smell it anymore. when she is feeling rambunctious she finds herself a mouse toy and bats at it or brings it to me to throw. if she wants more interaction she hides behind a corner and then leaps at me cutely with soft paws to ask me to chase her. if she gets too excited and bites me accidentally she licks me immediately in apology. she meows at me if she needs something. she crawls into my lap and kisses me. at bed time she finishes her zoomies and then curls up under the bed. at random moments she comes and sleeps next to me or on me and makes delighted sounds just from being around me. she yells happily and sticks a dainty paw at me when i come home, and is unneurotic about the fact i was busy the last several days. i barely had to do a thing to train this fool

you guys made luigi mangione trend for days and I need to see the same energy for brianna boston. she is a 43 year old mother of three who ended a phone call with blue cross blue shield (after being denied a claim) âdelay deny depose, you people are nextâ and is now being held under a 100,000$ bond and could face FIFTEEN years of prison if charged. she has no weapons, her record is clean, and yet she is being held behind bars. they are afraid of the public and are trying to subdue. do not let them!!!! be outraged that our freedom of speech is being threatened!!!!! deny defend depose! free brianna boston!
Good news, she is out with all charges dropped
for reasons i shall not discuss, a tweet
It's wonderful how, with no warning and without even trying, we will randomly stumble across new favorite songs, new favorite artists, new favorite books, new favorite movies, new favorite games, new favorite shows, new favorite snacks, new passions, new hobbies, new interests, new favorite blogs and new favorite people. So when things are terrible, hold onto the fact that someday, possibly when you least expect it, you'll suddenly come across something wonderful!

Canât believe Jane Austen wrote Pride and Prejudice in the 2000s
And in 2015 Emily BrontĂŤ released literary clsssic Wuthering Heights
Thank God someone paved the way for themâŚ
if you think jk was the first woman author, you donât actually care about women authors.
Mary Shelley didnt fuck on her parents graves for this level of disrespect
Murasaki Shikibu didnât invent the novel for this.
Christine de Pizan did not sit down at her desk and write The Book of the City of Ladies, advocating for womenâs education and finding value in women of all social classes and backgrounds, in 1405 for this.
đśSHAHARIZADE HAD A THOUSAND TALESđś
ThisâŚâŚâŚ.isnât even true in 20th century fantasy or childrens books? Pierce, Lackey, Applegate, McCaffrey, Bradley, Butler, whomst?
Casual reminder that
a woman was the first known author/poet in 2300BC - Enheduanna
the first novel in recorded history was written by a woman in 1010AD - Murasaki Shikibu
the earliest example of science fiction was written by a woman in 1666 - Margaret Cavendish
horror science fiction was popularised by a teenage girl in 1818 - Mary Shelley
a Scotswoman expanded childrensâ stories from moralising tales into anarchic adventures in the mid 1800s, well before it became popular in the early 20th century - Catherine Sinclair
the masked/costumed hero archetype that inspired Batman and Zorro was created by a woman in 1905 - Baroness Emma Orczy
And while she is problematic as all get out, we all know who is to blame for popularising Boarding School fiction (which is a huge inspiration of She Who Must Not Be Named) from the 1930s onwards - Enid Blyton
And do I even need to mention what a badass pioneer Ursula Le Guin was for women author in the fantasy/sci-fi genre?
Not to mention Agatha Christie is literally second only to Shakespeare in terms of works sold â 4 billion compared to JKRâs paltry 500 millionÂ
Mary Shelly did what
Mary.Shelly.Lost.Her.Virginity.On.Her.Parentâs.Grave.
Mary Shelley lost her virginity on her motherâs grave. Her father was still very much alive.
She did what now?
We have female authors who published before Rowling here on Tumblr. @dduane, for example! I read her Star Trek novels from the 80s and 90s as a kid/teen.
Octavia E. Butler wrote probably the most accurate dystopian novel in the form of Parable of the Sower.
I was a book nerd 90s kid who lived in the fantasy/scifi sections of the library and off the top of my head I can think of three male authors I was reading. The child and teens fantasy/scifi author list before Rowling took off was overwhelmingly female.
