hello! im trying to conduct some research on alternate dimensions and travel between them. i thought asking people from alternate dimensions might be useful, so if you've got the time, if there's any research you've done or relevant data you've collected, id love to hear about it!

im also interested in hearing about your dimension, to hear how it differs from mine. so, if you could tell me a bit about yourself and your experiences, that'd be great. again, only if you have time though!

ooh hello! i havent recently conducted any studies on alternate dimensions, unfortunately. we just entered a new system, you see. very interesting one, seems like some eldritch event will happen shortly.

one thing i have found is that different universes occasionally have different people in them? different stowaways and such! as well as some details, such as our lives pre-mechanisation, changing, as well as different relationships. and they operate on different timescales. in my universe, we have only recently left Fort galfridian, really! its only been, four or five centuries?

why don't you tell me about your universe?

oh, if that system is. uh. yggdrasil, than that's-- that's actually where im from, in my universe? i dont seem to be around in a lot of universes, from what i can tell, reaction-wise. but you might meet my sibling! they seem to be around, but. . . different, in a lot of ways. but the same in important ones.

my universe is. . . . well, my world got destroyed, that's a big one. and i escaped, but barely. got picked up by a doctor that gave me immortality, which was. not the most exciting or pleasant thing, but i did make a friend there! juniper! she's got really pretty wings. after that, i met up with the mechanisms in my universe. have been staying with them or at least around them off and on ever since, so. . . do you have specific questions about those differences?

it is, actually! i can check to see if there is a version of you, if youd like? although you may not have been born yet.

that certainly seems interesting. the doctor would be carmilla, yes? and you have a friend who has wings? how interesting! it would be so cool to study... but nevermind.

what are your mechanisms like?

well, uh, she didn't have wings originally? they were additions. carmilla brought her back that way. it's taken her a while to get used to them.

and. . . you know, if you're arriving when i think you're arriving, don't think id have been born yet, yeah. let's see-- actually, don't think you'll be able to look around when i would have been. but hey, who knows? different dimensions, maybe the timing got thrown off. maybe midgardians live for a dozen centuries there. i don't know.

and this dimension's mechanisms?

well, i'm hanging out with brian at the moment (he says hi) (he's a bit tied up though) (don't worry about it). he's nice, if a bit weird sometimes, and he keeps catching me doing stuff i wanted to be sneaky abou. his ears are really good, apparently. and i'm also working with my raphaella at the moment for this project, and my ivy? they also say hi. or they would, if the signal connection was better. im a bit far away from them at the moment. they've been helpful, even if raphaella keeps getting distracted by "implications" and ivy keeps going on research tangents. nastya's been useful to text when they're being particularly off-topic. she's great.

im trying to track down marius, among others, right now. he's annoying, but nice. kinda like a weird sort of uncle. which is a little strange, because he's probably going to end up bring my brother in law some day? weird. but current hypothesis is that he chased my sibling through a portal and started this particular mess.

and as to the others, i think ashes maybe-illegally adopted me for tax benefits, i helped TS go frog hunting once and it thinks i like frogs now and i cant tell it otherwise because thatll just make it sad, tim showed me how to shoot a gun without telling the others, and my girlfriend bit jonny once.

hm, well, i shall have to study this timing thing.

ah, brian. i love brians. wonderful. the ears thing seems about the same, what with the robotic body and all. and ivy does love a good tangent! in both our universes, it seems.

marius is strange. hes the sort of person to dive through a strange portal in your universe, is he? that seems mostly consistent. love the guy, but he can act before he thinks.

ashes and tim seem the same, as does ts. i must say, though. i am intruiged that your girlfriend bit jonny. hes usually the one doing the biting, over here.

yeah, robot body, but does he have to do the chair turn "well, ive been expecting you" thing so often? i think he just does that for the drama.

and ivy does like tangents. as do you. my raphaella's currently talking about magnets. i don't even know how they came up. she's just. . . having fun i guess?

and yes, nastya's cool? took a bit to meet her, she was off with my sibling having adventures apparently. but she's nice, when she's not preoccupied with things like nearly losing her mind at other people. she. . . got attached to my sibling, i think. and she also is barely not talking to aurora these days, either.

acting before he thinks. yeah, that seems . . . especially in certain situations. hope he's okay.

and yeah, she absolutely bit him, which is good for her. that was a fun day. she was trying to stall you lot for a bit for. . . reasons, so did things like insist that she wouldn't talk to anyone but the captain and then pointed at marius. and then she got him rambling on a guaranteed ramble topic, distracted the other people in the room, and got me the time i needed for-- well, i mean, brian still kinda caught me a little, but he was chill.

as i have heard jonny say, drama brian is dramatic.
