You know man I think sometimes how adama in home part 2 gets told to go home (heh) and be a family man by dee and he just. Decides that he's gonna understand Laura roslin and see the world through her eyes and learn how to speak to her. And in lay down your burdens part 2 we see his reaction to her doing something much more morally hideous than stealing a ship on a side mission, but he has earnestly learned how to speak to her and he just talks her down the moral ledge and has that line about how going through with this will kill her heart. Because her heart matters to him ofc but also to her mission to save mankind. The prophet's heart matters.
