Kind of painful to admit that at the heart of the lack of revolutionary struggle in the US is the fact that conditions haven't deteriorated enough. Like when people talk about declining standards of the quality of life they're talking about "fries used to automatically come with a burger now you have to pay extra if you want a side".

This was not a joke post. The overwhelming dissatisfaction with class stratification in the US has a petite-bourgeoisie character, being concerned with the feasibility of individual home ownership and lack of transparency regarding participation in bourgeoisie elections. When someone says "why is AI making art and we're forced to do menial labor instead of vice versa" this is very much telling us more than what was probably intended. This is also an example of why ~radicalization~ means absolute fuck all in a vacuum divorced from political education.

Looking at what it took for China to turn towards Marxism and you'll see that during the century of shame the average life expectancy was below fucking 40 for a literal hundred years, obviously China is not a catch-all model for Marxism everywhere but that's how much shit had to go down.

Simultaneously I do not subscribe to the concept that the bourgeoisie extracting more and more labor as capitalism reaches its highest stages is some sneaky ploy to prevent us from having the time and energy to properly organize, because that would require that class and capital in and of itself to live and think in the longterm, which is not the case.
