This is one of my favorite episode endings

It's just so different from all the others where it almost always ends in tension for what will happen next. Here we have a genuine moment of connection between two people who did nothing but needle each other for the past 40 minutes. The idea of a shared meal, when before it was Louis first trying to get Daniel on the backfoot with all the elaborate dishes, then the bloodbag, then the fox, then Damek (seriously, how much did he eat in that episode?). Trying to scare him, but Daniel isn't scared. Revulsed for a moment, yeah, but he finds the connection there. And you see their relationship grow because of it.

In another note, the "I liked it when she left it alone" line always resonated with me. We saw Daniel so far as this snarky person, that wants to provoke and needle Louis back. But now a moment of vulnerability, close the laptop, this isn't on the record anymore. And just like in his profession, in his relationships Daniel wants the unabashed truth without masks and without corrections, he liked it when she left it alone.
