i think both "lace is an actual child" and "lace had the role of 'child' forced on her even though it's inaccurate" are interesting readings of her character and fun to explore. i'm not a shipper but i may occasionally reblog ship-flavored art. if i do and it involves lace, i'm obviously operating under the latter reading.
