weird forgotten tumblr things
- donât hug me iâm scared fandom with the humanoid notebook and clock - fluffy chicken day - those blue pictures that said âreblog if youâre in the ______ fandom!â - all the tumblr island, tumblr university, etc. plans that eventually led to the planning of a tumblr convention which is what gave us the beautiful shitshow that was dashcon. the dashcon ballpit was overall tumblrâs best meme in my time on here imo, second only to sonic for real justice - tumblr trick or treating on halloweenÂż? - TUMBLR PROM - everyone remembers mishapocalypse but remember the all-out war that went down a year later when people couldnât decide if there should be another one?? that was honestly almost as scary as the actual mishapocalypse - speaking of misha collins, when he posted his phone number online and this entire website collectively lost its shit. everyone had to post their text convos w/ misha - FRANCIEUM VS FORFUTUREFERENCEONLY - âthe only adult supervision we have on tumblr is john greenâ (yikes) - the time everyone was gonna purposely not post anything the sunday after the guy who played uncle vernon in the harry potter movies died because of the quote âno post on sundaysâ but then everyone likeâŚâŚforgot and posted stuff anyway - the tumblr version of some nights by fun - moreos guy - when the 50th anniversary of doctor who fell on the same day as some one direction thing and everyone got really offended at this facebook post someone had screenshotted that said like â1d will be around way longer than ur shitty alien tv showâ lmao - âswiggity swag, whatâs in the bagâ - when yahoo was buying tumblr and everyone was flipping shit and making posts saying shit like âyahoo better not go ToO fAR!!! they have an army, but we have a hulk!!!â honestly if i was yahoo and considering buying a website for more than a million dollars and then saw that that was what the userbase was like i would have backed the fuck out of that business deal - those âmen of tumblrâ posts, you know the ones i mean - when everyone hated miranda cosgrove?? was there a reason behind that or,, - back in 2013 everyone was planning to do this âtumblr dayâ on march 5th where you were supposed to write a big t on your hand and then if you saw anyone else with it you were supposed to âhug and exchange urlsâ lmao. im pretty sure no one actually did this but if that doesnât describe the general social climate of tumblr back then idk what does
I dont remember even half of these???? what the fuck is mishapocalypse?????

When I die just dump my body in a hole, no casket. Donât try to preserve my body, bury me in biodegradable clothing, like the clothes with seeds in them. Plant a tree on my body. Let me give back to nature.
I know that this may not be the post to do this on but I gotta do it anyway because Iâm studying to be in the mortuary industry and to be part of this green change happening. So hereâs some stuff you should know if you want a greener death.
1) the mushroom suit is a scam. I am absolutely serious. Thereâs been no evidence that it aids decomp, let alone evidence that the mushrooms even grow, and the owner of the company keeps evading questions about it.
2) the tree urn doesnât work like you think it does. Ashes do absolutely nothing to help the tree grow - all the organic compounds in the ashes have been burnt away. So youâre not really becoming a tree.
3) Cremation isnât a green alternative to embalmed burial. One cremation releases the same carbon as 500 miles in a car. Alkaline hydrolysis (âaqua cremationâ) IS a green alternative. You end up with âashes,â just as you would, but it takes way less energy, and the liquid product can be used as fertilizer!!
4) Washington state has legalized body compost, but I donât know yet if anyone is able to actually offer it outside of the researchers up there? But you can at least donate to them I suppose?
As the industry is changing, its beset by gimmicks and scams, just as any other industry can be. Your best bet for a green burial is a) a mortician you trust, with whom you make a dearth plan, and b) a shroud with a carrier, or a wicker or Kosher casket.
A List of Topics That Actually Matter(tm) in Pagan, Polytheist, Witchy, and Adjacent Communities
Why do fascists feel welcome in our communities and what can we do to stop supporting that ideology?
Why ânot caring about politicsâ is dangerous.
Every -ism ever that runs rampant (even in âacceptingâ communities)
The military fetishism and xenophobia that is somehow acceptable in some circles (particularly in Heathenry)
How our spiritual tourism is affecting the environment and local communities (see all the trash at Stonehenge) which is admittedly a problem for lots of faith groups but it is important
How we hate teenagers (especially teenage girls) and how we treat newcomers in general
All of these things are at least 1000x more important than someoneâs witch aesthetic blog, the existence of pop culture paganism (no one cares if you donât like it btw) or whether I believe in the same invisible friends as my neighbour.

On w*ndigoag:
W*ndigoag/w*ndigo are sacred Algonquian spirits that have spread to other Anishinaabe cultures. They arenât worshiped or whatever, they are feared.
Theyâre the physical embodiments of evil, the result of a person falling into the trap of greed and cruelty, usually in the form of cannibalism. Our fear not only stems from the spirits and the danger they pose to others, but also their implications and the constant reminder that anyone can become a monster if they allow themselves to.
They are not bipedal deer and I have no idea where that concept came from. Most traditional depictions show them as humanoid giants made of ice, usually with the body of the person they came from encased inside.
In some stories, theyâre killed by people, usually via fire. In others, they can only be killed by luring them to a body of water and getting the attention of a water spirit to fight it.
Thereâs very, very few stories where the person can be saved. The transformation into a w*ndigo is not a reversible one, and the only real way to save someone from that existence is to free them with death.
We censor their names because, traditionally, weâre taught not to say them out loud in case we get the attention of one or summon one. This is especially important during winter or at night.
They are not benign spirits. They are not kind. They are not rational. They are evil and cruel, and their only desires center around killing and eating. Theyâre as rational and logical as a wild raccoon in the late stages of rabies.
You cannot work with them. They canât be bound, and they definitely canât be bought or sold. Do not trust any spirit who claims to be a w*ndigo and do not trust any spirit worker who tries to sell you one.
W*ndigoag are Algonquian and Anishinaabe spirits. Algonquian people are the authorities on them, other Anishinaabe people less so. Non-Anishinaabe Natives cannot say that appropriation of w*ndigoag is okay because that isnât their culture and itâs definitely not their decision to make. You cannot give someone permission to use something that isnât yours.
The use of w*ndigoag in non-Native media is appropriation. The only exception to this is in when the creators work with Algonquian people to make respectful and accurate depictions. Youâll be very hard pressed to find cases of this.
W*ndigoag are not cryptids because they are sacred spirits. Abrahamic angels are not cryptids. Japanese yokai are not cryptids. Vodou loa are not cryptids. Respect indigenous beliefs as legitimate spirituality instead of reducing our cultures down to bastardized stories.
If you arenât Anishinaabe, you cannot be âwendigokinâ. Appropriation of indigenous spirituality isnât suddenly okay because your ~soul~ is an indigenous spirit. You are not entitled to our cultures or spiritual beliefs. Jfc.
âWendigocoreâ is also bullshit, what the fuck is wrong with you all? Our sacred spirituality is not your ugly ass aesthetic.
(Left those uncensored because itâs a summer afternoon and I want people in those tags to see this. Fuck off.)
Anishinaabe people are not obligated to share our SACRED STORIES with outsiders in order for them to be respected. We donât want you to make your depictions of w*ndigoag in your stories more accurate. We just want you to leave our cultures alone for once.
Now please stop sending me messages about w*ndigoag. I understand you all just want to learn but I am so fucking tired. Iâve answered these questions dozens of times and I need a break.
Donât start discourse on this post. I am not in the mood for it.
If any Algonquian or other Anishinaabe people have corrections, hmu.Â
