i understand its easy to make the comparison because of how both Satan and a/p/e/p are both “devil” figures and weve seen how the infernal has been villainized despite its complex nature of its Millions of interpretation, but we all have to understand that kemeticism and christianity are two completely different narratives. they are on completely different axis. they have two completely different cultures, practices, believes, etc, etc.
christianity has countless literatures to chose from, all framing Satan in countless ways. many you could compare to how we view a/p/e/p, yes, but not all. from the very beginning Hes is a very dynamic character. He is the Accuser, the Rebel, the Fallen Angel. these are all titles you can think of as good or bad, all depending on how you think of god and what Satans true mission is. theres room to find Him a liberator against gods tyranny (because, imo, the bible is so much more about following gods will than actually doing Good) and theres room to find Him the source of all evil. and when you span that over the many cultures and centuries and versions of christianity out there, Satan is malleable enough to shift from being the villain to the hero.
we, however, absolutely do not have this with a/p/e/p. as far as i know there has been absolutely zero historical record of s/nake sympathy before kemeticisms modern revival. and, unlike with christianity, kemeticism isnt centered around the will of a perfect god, but that of Ma’at, or justice. time and time again a/p/e/p has solidly fit one role, one dynamic, and that is to destroy Ma’at, cause existence to crumble apart, and return us to nothingness. when we hate a/p/e/p, its not because its intruding on the wills of our gods, its because it fucks up Ma’at. it seeks to destroy the very concept of goodness that keeps this reality we live in together. it does not seek power or respect or freedom like Satan does. it only wishes spread isfet until it rots our hearts and home away to a hopeless and empty nonexistence so we cannot enjoy the beautiful world weve already worked so hard to build.
you also have to consider that a/p/e/p largely isnt even a thinking, complex being at all, but really just isfet, or injustice and nonexistence, given a face. it doesnt really have much personhood, its an all devouring machine. thats how i think it was historically, but i suppose whether its even capable of the complexity of any real thought besides Destroy Hate Rot is up to interpretation.
with “devil” figures, its extremely important to think about who or what exactly it is theyre fighting against. with Satan, its gods will, which youre free to interpret in any way you want. but with a/p/e/p, its Ma’at. the fundamental force in this world keeping it growing and loving and righteous. if a/p/e/p was directly against the gods themselves, i supposed you could argue that maybe They were actually the bad guys and it the good guy, but no, a/p/e/p fights directly against justice and creation. and thats why hating a/p/e/p sympathizers is in no way the same as hating satanists.
