sometimes a post has a really good point but the way it is worded is so bafflingly Terrifying that you just have to sit back and go "hahaha. okay" and if you're unlucky and your brain is a bit tricky, spend the next hour or day or week or month or longer ruminating on it. sucks! and sometimes you will desperately plead with the people who see your posts to not mention a topic that sends you spiralling and someone will take that as an invitation to tell you that you are Bad for telling them not to talk about the topic on your post. it's beyond comedy. hi everyone I love you and I'm sorry if you have a tough time online because of the posts you see or the interactions you have. ocd or not. it can be tough! these are words on a screen and they can be scary but your life is big and beautiful and you aren't what strangers say about you. peace and love

There is a little pain usually, but one time a nurse was using this cuff that would tighten automatically and it just kept getting tighter and tighter and she was getting snippy with me because my arm was tense. Lady, my arm is tense because it really really hurts

same - when it's done manually I barely notice, with the automatic machines it's often distressingly painful

my parents divorce has got me thinking a lot about how theres no force out there assuring everybody gets their happy ending. my parents spent 30 years together and as far as i can tell it was never as good as love should be and nothing stopped them from making that choice. theres no force in the world stopping you from throwing away your life. very few choices ruin your whole life at once (i mean. like. doing a murder and getting caught. for example) but if you just keep choosing the path of unhappiness no one stops you. you can keep doing that as long as you like

Reaction for the last three episodes of The Legend of Vox Machina season 4:

I'll admit that episode 10 was pinging my religious trauma in a pretty bad way, enough that it took me till today to get to 11 and 12. After all if your Big Bad is so egregeously on the side of "the gods were just using you" then obviously the lesson we're gonna learn at the end is "actually the gods have your best interests at heart, no matter what it looks like :) You Just Have To Trust Them :)", right?

(particularly with the plot point of "the blight was actually an anti-Vecna upgrade" like the Matron couldn't have dropped him a user's manual with that shit? or at least made it hurt less?)

But I feel better that, overall, we didn't end the season with a firm resolution on the question of "the gods: yea or nay?". In particular I really appreciated that Pike's character arc was *about* Pike and her own feelings, and not just the resolution of a big picture theological/philosophical question.

During her five minute evil vacation, she was definitely wrestling with a mixture of stuff that was obviously untrue (the cult's ends justify its means, it's her job to personally save the world) and stuff that might have some truth to it (VM could have been more careful about the consequences of their actions, she didn't feel supported by her friends). And "what is my relationship to the Everlight" was all tangled up in that, but in the end she didn't have to regain her faith in her god to have faith in her friends. (I was SO HYPE to see Grog, often dismissed as merely a buffoon, get to play the hero of this emotional arc! )

And when Pike is allowed space to have a complicated relationship to her god, I feel it gives Vax space for his devotion to the Matron to be a very personal thing to him, rather than The True Right Answer (which will, I predict, in turn give Keyleth the freedom to HATE HER FUCKING GUTS without it making her look shallow or stupid).

Anyway I'm super pumped to see the Whispered One dropping the Pastor Gideon Loves You getup and going full Evil Lich King, and I cannot WAIT to see the Mega Titan Walking City Of Doom next season!
