This is called "Burnt Out into Sea Angels" and it's about when you are having a rough day at work so you pop into the bathroom for a lil menty b and your head fcking explodes into sea angels (clione limacina)
The canvases are all stained with different materials I found while camping. The first is charcoal, the second is dried leaves, and the third is grass. They all smell like the material (even now after a week), I wish I could share smells, but unfortunately, the technology just isn't there yet :(
The audio was also partially made during camping. It's random improvisation on my kalimba, combined with bird songs and other nature noises. At home, I edited it more and added glitch effects that I got by converting a pdf map of the area where I was camping into raw data.
This was really fun, I'd love to hear what people think of sort of environment based work, and I'd love to make more in the future.
my 6°F drawing/painting set up in a playground at night + some of the stuff I made :)
This was really difficult because the paint kept freezing, and all my supplies in general got really dry. But it also made for some really interesting grungy textures, and I even got ice crystals forming on the page!
lil reel on my insta if anyone wants to see more of my process, hoping to get enough followers to do a livestream next time
Every time someone posts a video of a fatal workplace accident online, the workers hopes and dreams become permanently lodged in the machine. Over time these accumulate and become a creature that is not quite an angel, but almost.
process video for my painting "I can make New Teeth from The Stars in The Sky", song is just the raw data from an old mental health brochure converted into audio :P
Part 6 in my “Classical art Reimagined as Beanie Babies” series 🚦
This one is based on the painting Stańczyk by Jan Matejko. The original painting depicts a well-known Polish jester sitting in dejection, having just received bad news regarding the country's political situation, while a lively ball takes place in the background. I chose to depict Stańczyk through Snort the bull on account of the matching color scheme and a similar emotional aura, however the decision to depict him as a cowboy was just a whim. But after learning about the backstory I think it's fitting because it pulls the archetypes and dynamics out of European history and overlays them onto a distinctly Americana environment.
Fun fact: Snort the Bull was originally named Tabasco but the name had to be changed for copyright reasons.
cowboy nancy for my weird friend who keeps requesting I draw nancy fanart. didn't know what to do with her other hand so just gave her a second gun. the horse is just a normal horse.
Another pixel art angel on oil pastel ⁈ I'm not sure why I keep making these, but there will probably be more. My last one was peaceful, melancholy, a little nostalgic. But this one seems to have an undercurrent of anger and despair.
The song is called Pylons Singing and it's from another project I'm working on :)
just a little painted pumpkin animation thing, was trying to get this done before halloween but tbh I think the white pumpkin + bunny combo is better suited for late autumn.
