modern reiner, who met you at a cafe, and has been hopelessly in love with you since.
honestly, he came to the cafe every time after because of the pretty stranger that always came on saturdays, the one he couldn't take his eyes off of.
unfortunately for him, he was honestly scared to talk to you, who always looked so lost in thought and serene at the same time.
he'd always be right behind you in line too, enough times to memorize your order.
honestly, when he told his friends, jean had teased him endlessly about being a creep and lacking the guts to actually talk to a pretty woman, connie had laughed at the mention of reiner liking someone, and eren had wished him good luck.
eventually, fate had graced him, because about 3 weeks later both of your orders got switched up. he'd accidentally ended up grabbing yours and you'd grabbed his, to which he'd only noticed by the time he'd taken a sip.
of course, his first thought was to assume it was someone else's, that even though both your orders had been called at the same time, there was a possibility that it wasn't yours, but when he saw you looking around, confused, his heart leapt traitorously despite not wanting to get his hopes up.
reiner had to pause for a moment to gather his thoughts and the courage to even take a step towards you, but he did eventually approach you.
you were confused as to who had gotten your order, and whose order you had accidentally stolen instead, when out of your peripheral you spotted a tall, well-built blonde man approaching.
"is this your coffee? I think we might've switched orders on accident."
his deep and firm voice reaches your ears, right as he brings his free hand up to scratch sheepishly at the back of his neck, a sight that you find to be endearing, considering how nervous he looks.
you manage to nod, expressing that you thought the same, and you both switched coffees. his fingers brushed against yours, and he felt his heart start to race, just from the touch of your fingers against his.
seeing you turn around to make your way back to your signature seat, he mentally panics. the only thing he'd done so far was utter out a couple of words to you, he couldn't leave it at that.
he cleared his throat nervously, mentally preparing himself to spit out the next words that lingered in his mind.
"can I get your number?"
you pause, and reiner feels immediate regret in the second that it takes you to turn around and look at him, really look at him. what if you think he's weird, for suddenly asking you such a thing?
and yet, relief floods his entire being when you give him a smile and nod, agreeing to exchange contact info.
days turn to weeks, and weeks turn to months, and during all that time you two have been keeping a consistent routine of texting and making saturdays both of your designated days to meet and talk over coffee, which reiner insists on paying every time, of course.
since meeting, his feelings have only grown worse, and have been intensified
overtime, you two start spending more time together, going out to eat and shopping, so much so that reiner is constantly getting teased because when asked, he'll always say he's with you.
it gets to a point where reiner is stressing over how to ask you out, because he knows that clearly you return his feelings, otherwise you wouldn't agree to keep letting him treat you and spoil you whenever he could.
one night, when he's dropping you off, he just blurts it out accidentally, as your back is facing him and he's watching you retreat to your home.
"I like you."
his mind lags behind, a second too late, reality catching up to him as he sees you turn around, surprise etched all over your face. he quickly struggles to quickly think about what to say next, now that he's already said this much.
"..I really like you. if it's not too much to ask, would you be my girlfriend?" the question escapes him, sounding a little meek in his ears and he mentally curses himself, because now he sounds stupid through his own ears, but not to you.
a delighted smile forms, the corners of your lips curling upwards as you smile at him, and he knows then, with the moonlight shining and illuminating your features―that he'd marry you one day.
he's certain of it, right as you agree and he immediately lifts you off your feet and into a warm embrace, that one day the hand resting on his shoulder, the very ring finger on that hand, would be decorated with the prettiest ring ever, one he'd be sure you'd enjoy.
but for now, he's content to be able to explore your relationship, one step at a time. from now on, it'll be his mission to devote his heart to learning everything he knows about you so he can treat you right.
hi hello I feel like new gen I finished aot recently
his soft little groan wakes you up, light filtering through the curtains and onto your closed eyelids, essentially another cause for you to wake up, even if you tried to ignore your beloved boyfriend.
he rolls over, shifting all of his weight on top of you, and you groggily open your eyes, a small 'oof!' escaping you, because this man is built unfairly well.
he mumbles something tiredly, before snuggling against you. you can't decipher if it's the rambles of someone who's tired but awake, or just asleep.
and that's your boyfriend for you.
he clings onto you while you move around, making your breakfast, and apparently his, too, as he seems keen on trying to steal bites of your food while you are distracted, despite declining breakfast.
a laugh slips out of you as you catch him red-handed, and he stares at you, before bursting into laughter, the widest grin on his face, beautifully animated.
and that's your boyfriend for you.
god, you think you could watch him all day, with the way he focuses on his task at hand, mumbling to himself as he's lost in thought.
you're about to ask him a question but you hesitate, and settle for watching him instead.
the way he taps his mechanical pencil to the table, his foot tapping to some rhythm that is only accessible to him, the way he huffs in frustration, looks at you for a second, before quickly returning to his task.
it's like a flurry, a whirlwind of emotions, and you chuckle to yourself softly at the sight, the silliest thing you've ever seen.
the sound causes him to look up at you, face blank and oh-so-cutely confused, a small 'what?' slipping out, before you shake your head fondly and say 'it's nothing.'
and that's your boyfriend for you.
his enthusiastic and semi-anxious bouncing is what snaps you out of your thoughts.
he moves, once again a whirlwind, and you smile, grabbing his hand and dragging him along.
there are no protests, he is not some anxious dog waiting to go on a walk.
however, he is very energetic.
he pays attention as you talk to him, nodding and looking at you incredulously when you spout utter nonsense.
his animated and very bubbly laugh blends into your conversation at times, fitting perfectly with the two of you.
the way satoru loves is intense and messy, but it's still the best thing yet.
gojo might be the strongest sorcerer, but when it comes to you, he can ignore his duties peacefully.
with you, gojo is not the strongest sorcerer in jujutsu tech. he's not gojo satoru, a jujutsu sorcerer, either.
he's just satoru.
your satoru.
your sweet, loving, playful, sometimes immature satoru. you treat him like a normal person.
there's no fear in your eyes, no hatred, no awe. he's human around you. and he feels so grateful to find a beloved that doesn't take his powers for granted.
there's something so serene when he's with you. he doesn't have to worry about his students, or his missions, or anything.
most of the time when he's free he ends up trailing you like a lost puppy. he's so used to being busy and needed for extra work and missions that he doesn't know what to do with his free time.
usually he sleeps in, too. even when you complain and insist you have to get ready for either work or your day, he doesn't let go. he'll cling to you up until noon, occasionally convincing you to skip work when he's off.
he only releases you when you say you need to go to the restroom, and he still has trauma from the last time you said that, only for him to find you 8 minutes later getting ready for work...
either way, satoru loves you a ton, like really does.
you mention something once, and he's conveniently in the area for a mission? well, he returned with 15 bags once, with ijichi in tow, carrying the rest of the 20 bags.
he's not exactly the type to shy away from spending a lot, given his status, but he appreciates when you tell him not to spend too much.
however, he doesn't really mind if he gets to see that look on your face every time you open his gifts.
satoru is someone who loves boldly and unashamedly, someone who proudly presents his partner without any hesitation.
guys I'm 3 days late to his birthday help,, I tried getting back into writing again..
there he stood, before you. after so long. after months and weeks and days of thinking about him. of wondering if he ever thought about you– ever missed you the way you missed him.
you knew it was him.
you had the strongest gut feeling it was him.
except, you couldn't see his face. couldn't remember it. it'd been too long, hadn't it? he wasn't someone you knew anymore.
he was someone you used to know.
and that fact stung a lot more than it should've. because no matter how many times you told yourself you didn't care, that you were done, it was all a big lie.
just something made up to help you think clearly, to help distract from the fact that he was the only one you wanted to see. the only person that mattered, the one you wanted to talk to.
how did his voice sound like, again? did it have an accent? what was his tone like? was it soft when he spoke to you?
it wasn't that long.
how come you didn't remember?
oh, you wished you did. you wished you had more time. you wish he wasn't gone.
you startled, sitting upright. it was a dream. just a dream.
right, of course it was.
because he was gone and he was never coming back.
this works with any character, just imagine whoever !
the fact that you had no reaction to his flirting, or the fact that you didn't ever respond.
at first, he thought you were shy.
(he also thought you were easy, though he regrets underestimating you..)
but after a couple of times, and embarrassing silence and stares, he realized his earlier thoughts to be inaccurate, to which osamu laughed at him.
sure, you would nod, but it was a lot more embarrassing because you weren't blushing. you weren't talking either. just a polite nod, a small smile, and then went back to doing whatever it was you were doing before.
it frustrated him to no end. what did it matter if girls swooned at him when he flirted or covered their mouths to stifle their giggles, if he couldn't even get your full attention, or at least a word from your mouth?
did you think he wasn't worthy of hearing your voice?
that thought alone irritated him. how dare you look down upon him?
(you didn't at all, contrary to his belief. you just didn't see what his motive was)
and yet, he kept trying. he told himself it was merely to save his pride–that he kept coming back only so he could emerge triumphant, having made you blush, or at least any sort of reaction aside from your usual one.
until one day, he fell sick. unfortunately, he couldn't exactly skip school. so, for the whole day, he had to sit through boring classes and whatnot, sick and feeling awful. the only thing he was looking forward to was practice.
..to which kita kicked him out of, sending him home with a bag full of medicine and a note that almost made him cry.
he completely forgot about you, and about getting some reaction out of you. to be completely honest, he was tired. even more so, as he trudged home with kita's bag in his hands.
a faint atsumu could be heard but he swore it was his imagination. after all, it was so quiet.
"..atsumu!"
oh great, he was hearing things. he sighed, already wanting to return to the comfort of his house, where he didn't have to worry about anything.
and suddenly there was a hand on his shoulder, stopping him in his tracks. he turned around, wondering who exactly chased him all the way, and lo-and-behold, you're there. panting and out of breath, hair wild, sure, but it's you.
atsumu's heart kicks up a notch, and he blames it on you startling him. definitely not feelings. nope.
when you finally catch your breath, your eyes meet his and you raise a bag of medicine and water bottles. you give the tiniest smile as he takes it, stunned, and wave before leaving.
he stares, his brain struggling to process what the hell happened. the fact that you, the very person that doesn't say anything to him at all, gave him medicine and water is beyond his comprehension.
that alone made him think about you all day. only because he was confused, of course. totally.
you cared for him, despite his annoying flirting. you didn't look down on him. that made him smile, and then he realized what he was doing.
the next day he was feeling better. much better.
he also noticed things.. because he was curious. yup, that's what it was.
he noticed how you smiled the tiniest bit when he messed up a line, right as he was sheepishly rubbing the back of his neck and muttering, "that's embarrassing..."
he also noticed how you hummed absentmindedly when there was a song stuck in your head.
before he knew it, the exact way your laugh and voice sounded was memorized in his brain. he could easily recognize you from those, and he never failed to turn and look for you each time he heard something similar.
he began examining the way you smiled, the way your hair framed your face. your appearance and face were engraved in his brain.
it was interest. merely curiosity. there was nothing more to it, he told himself. he was just hyperaware. in due time it'd go away. there was just something wrong with him.
and yet, his close attention to you remained, even as he toned down the flirting and you talked more with him. you weren't staring and nodding anymore. you were smiling, laughing, and even rambling sometimes. he didn't know what to do with himself.
his heart raced for reasons unknown to him.
he stuttered for no reason.
his brain blue-screened randomly.
his ears burned.
all of these happened when around you, and atsumu chalked it up to weird things that would pass.
it wasn't a crush.
..right?
no, that wasn't possible. he wouldn't ever fall for anyone. people fall for him, not the other way around. besides, he was too preoccupied with volleyball for him to bother with a partner.
there's just simply no way he can have a crush. especially not you, of all people.
except there is.
atsumu's talking to you one normal day, mentioning an upcoming volleyball game, and how they're definitely going to crush them.
what he doesn't expect, however, is you showing up.
there you are, moving in the stands, already taking a seat. your eyes meet and when you smile, it goes straight to his heart. every reaction he's been having before? intensified. his whole face turns red–hell, even his ears and the back of his neck are red!
suna is quick to notice and even more quick to tease. "is mr. popular over here getting flustered over a simple smile?" he says, a dry smile on his face as he passes, but boy, is atsumu too in-love with you to register suna's snarky remark.
from then on, it's 10 times worse whenever atsumu's around you. his ears are always burning when talking to you, his heart speeds up the slightest, and if you give him one of your pretty smiles, he's practically done for.
(he thinks all of your smiles are pretty, but your genuine and wide ones are the most pretty)
you, unaware of how many times you send his heart into overdrive and brain into a frenzy, merely ask if he's okay with a simple tilt of your head.
to which he stutters, nods, and can already hear osamu and suna teasing him.
yes, he might look like a fool, a lovesick one at that, but he doesn't care. he's too far gone for you to ever care about something as simple as that. so, he'll continuously let you fluster him if it means that one day maybe you'll smile at him and wait for him to finally catch up to you.
but until that day comes, atsumu will be waiting and chasing after you like a lovesick puppy.
he doesn't mind.
a few people were asking for more of it and I was gonna write something but I just decided to go more in depth..
i know we all got hit hard by the “why couldn’t you love me?” - “i do” - “all of me!” scene between rumi and celine, but what makes this scene hit so much harder is that celine refuses to touch any of rumi’s patterns
while trying to comfort her, celine raises her hand and almost touches rumi’s cheek, the one where her patterns and eye are glowing specifically, but pulls her hand away in the last second. and it’s only after putting her jacket over rumi’s shoulders that she actually makes contact with her. she literally won’t connect -physically and emotionally- with rumi’s demon side
combined with her refusing to look at rumi and even at this point being more concerned with appearances… oh this movie and its metaphors, i’m gonna be so ill
you were reserved, quiet but not shy, and overall just in your own world. at first atsumu thought you were shy. he thought, "she'll probably fall for me once I talk to her."
oh, how wrong he was.
he walked up to you, mildly flirting, and all you did was give a polite nod and smile. barely answered. no blushing. no stammering. nothing.
just politeness.
he chalked it off as shy, because surely you were just pretending to be uninterested, right?
except he began to doubt himself when you continued.
you weren't interested, and he was beginning to grow more frustrated with the thought.
especially because he kept coming back, for reasons unknown to him.
whatever those reasons were, it definitely wasn't because he liked you.
"she gets on my nerves, 'samu! why can't she just be flustered or somethin' when she's talkin' to me?" atsumu grumbled, trudging through the hallways with a bored osamu walking next to him.
osamu shrugged, not even interested in the rant that his twin was going on about. "maybe you just suck," he commented dryly, entirely fed up with his twin brother. atsumu merely grumbled once more.
until the day you offered him medicine when he was sick. you held it out to him, after you had caught up to him, and as soon as he took it you left without a word.
that was the day atsumu realized something.
you did care, you just cared in your own quiet way. and maybe you just weren't interested in him, but you did notice things.
you noticed him.
and that fact alone wouldn't stop bothering him for the rest of the day.
after that he started noticing things. like how you gave the tiniest smile when he messed up a line while trying to flirt with you, or how you hummed sometimes when there was a song you just couldn't get out of your head.
he noticed the way your laugh sounded, the exact way you smiled, how your voice sounded, and how your hair framed your face.
he thought that maybe it was just him being hyperaware, that it would go away.
oikawa, slow to fall in love, and even more slow to realize it himself.
oikawa was used to the popularity. he was used to the attention and the fame that came with being aoba johsai's famous captain and setter. he didn't mind, really. instead, he thrived in the attention, basking in it like a cat in the sun.
until you, of course.
aoba johsai was in need of a manager, and you just so happened to agree.
over time, you learned all of their names.
oikawa tooru, the captain and setter of the team.
iwaizumi hajime, vice-captain, wing spiker, and ace of the team.
kindaichi yutaro, middle blocker.
kunimi akira, wing spiker.
yahaba shigeru, backup setter.
matsukawa issei, middle blocker.
hanamaki takahiro, wing spiker.
watari shinji, libero.
kyotani kentaro, wing spiker, and the infamous "mad dog."
last but not least, coach irihata.
once securing the position of manager, you instantly clicked with aoba johsai's team. you supported them, helped them, and looked after them.
you were quiet and calm, the type of person oikawa wasn't used to.
he was used to loud, squealing, energetic girls. not this, not you.
and yet he liked it. thought of it as a challenge at first.
"don't go falling for me, alright?" he'd said with a grin, when you smiled at him a bit more genuine the first time. you merely rolled your eyes playfully, that smile still on your face.
he was used to blushing, to stammering, to red ears and flushed faces.
not this.
and yet it intrigued him all the same.
you didn't flirt with him, didn't crowd him or ask for his number. hell, you even signed up of your own volition.
you weren't there for him. you didn't orbit around him, like how he was used to. you just drifted in your own unique orbit, like he was a small star.
you smiled politely at him, talked as much as you needed to, and joked a little. you had personality, sure, but you were the calm that was unfamiliar to oikawa.
it wasn't until he actively started seeking you out, did he realize that he had begun falling for you.
and once he started, he had no idea how to stop. like the brakes had jammed and refused to work.
it started with the simple things, like looking at you or memorizing your simple habits. then, he took note of how you acted around others. then, he started following you around like a lost puppy. he started showing off more during games and practice, hoping to impress you (all he got was a 'don't overwork yourself, oikawa.,' but he was content with that).
he hadn't realized he'd focused so much on you to the point where he was surprised by the slight disappointment tugging at his heart strings when you were nowhere to be found. you'd only been a little under the weather for a day, and yet he missed you already.
as soon as you came back, he visibly looked happier, to the point where the team asked him what happened (he made up some lame excuse that the whole team bought, besides iwaizumi, who stared at him with a raised brow).
immediately walked up to you, too, and said something dumb like, "you missed me so much that it took you only a day to recover, right?" and thought that was smooth.
he was not (the whole team started snickering as you stared at him dumbfounded).
he denied that he liked you, claimed it was curiosity, up until you smiled, and oh, he was done for.
honestly, he thought he was smooth up until he met you.
and the worst part?
he would gladly fumble every time if it meant he got to see you smile.
I gave up halfway because I fell asleep and lost my train of thought goodbye
