Based off of post that goes like:
“Sifo-Dyas never found his crystal...
... but that's okay because he has Dooku”
Lol waiting for new prompt to drop for new fic ideas, but thought why not give it a shot now? Not sure if this is allowed, but thought about using this post as inspiration for my (first ever fic) and Mines Monday!!
EDIT - Also reposting as new post so people can see it lol
Sifo-Dyas was cold. The cave was dark, large iceicles casting reaching shadows on to the walls. He clambered further inwards and followed the pull of the force, as he searched for his Kyber Crystal. It was getting later, and he had no idea how many of his fellow crechlings were already bundled back up on the ship. Over and under, up and down, to the right of one ice shard, to the left of another. Sifo-Dyas continued on.
Time went on, Sifo-Dyas tried to calm the ramblings of his tired mind to focus on the Force, but to no avail. As he searched, thoughts of failure, of rejection by the Force, and anxiety about being locked in overnight. He knew that Dooku must have found his crystal already, he smiled at the thought of Dooku getting out of the cave and being able to present his new crystal to the Creche masters. The cold filled the cave with a large gust, and Sifo-Dyas shivered. Following the pull of the Force, he clambered up a small icy hill, before - crack!
Slipping and sliding downwards, screaming all the way down, Sifo-Dyas fell down, down, down. The Force pulled him towards the wall in front of him, and as his eyes adjusted to the sudden darkness he realised he was completely trapped. At first he tried to follow the Force, to break down the thick barrier blocking his path, but his arms quickly grew tired. He tried to find an iceicle from earlier to help chip away at the ice, yet the hollow was smooth, and unyielding. Next, using the Force to push himself up, Sifo-Dyas tried to climb up the walls, to try and go around the obstruction, however the steep slope was too high for him to climb up, and the Force was adamant about keeping him there.
Anxiously he continued to look for a way out, but the Force kept pushing him towards the wall. As he began to panic, instinctively he went to cuddle next to Dooku, only to remember that he was alone. Completely alone. Only he could find his crystal, with the help of the Force. Trying to focus his mind, he tried to practice the breathing patterns the Healers taught him last time he struggled with a vision. Breathe in, breathe out. Breathe in, breathe out. Yet still the Force pulled him towards that solid wall of ice.
Suddenly, there was a smack-crack! And shards of cracking ice began to spiderweb out from where something had hit the wall from the other side. Sifo-Dyas scrambled backwards, watching the walk with large eyes as the cracks grew. There was another smack-crack! And then, from a second point no higher than the first, more cracks! The Force seemed to yell at Sifo-Dyas to move, to help, to go! As Sifo-Dyas moved forwards, there was a final smack and the ice began, slowly at first, to crumble at his feet, creating a hole big enough for him to crawl through it. Sifo-Dyas listened to the Force, taking in the feeling of rightfulness and happiness seeping from it as he emerged… into a nearly identical cave. No glowing Kyber, no chorus of Space Angels heralding his find, nothing. Nothing at all. Nothing… except… Dooku?
Sifo-Dyas looked at his friend, who was holding a sharp iceicle, and brushing off ice shatterings from Sifo-Dyas’s cloak. They had all been given a small pouch to hold the crystals when they found them, and in Dooku’s Sifo-Dyas could see a soft glow shining through it. Dooku gave Sifo-Dyas a hand, and helped him to his feet. The Force sang loudly. Sifo-Dyas rolled his eyes.
“Sy, are you alright?” Dooku asked, a concerned loom on his face. Sifo-Dyas sighed, looking down at the floor.
“Yeah, just looking for my crystal” he said, before his head whipped around and stared at his friend “but wait, have you not yet found yours?” Dooku smiled, and opened the he glowing pouch to pull out his crystal, lighting up the little alcove with a soft blue tinge.
“No, I did. But I wasn’t going to be leaving without you now, was I?” He smirked, and Sifo-Dyas couldn’t help but mirror him with a grin. However Dooku looked at his watch, a gift from a little boy they had once helped find his way back to his parents, and looked up at alarm. “It’s later than I thought it was, we should start searching” he said, grabbing Sifo-Dyas’s hand and pulling him towards a hidden tunnel to the side. Sifo-Dyas dropped his hand, causing Dooku to suddenly twist back around, confused.
“No, Doo, it’s okay” he smiled “the Force thinks my crystal is here, but there is nothing here. I must have been meant to meet you, so we can go back together.” Dooku shook his head in disagreement. “Come on Doo, everyone knows I’m kind of a broken jedi anyways, with my visions and stuff. Why would this be any different?” Dooku looked at his friend, both upset for his friend and upset at those who caused such a statement to leave Sifo-Dyas’s mouth as if stating the weather.
“Wait. Sy. Crystals come im different shapes and sizes right?” Sifo-Dyas nodded, and an idea started to form. Dooku grinned, and without a second thought snapped his crystal in half. Sifo-Dyas gasped, and rushed towards Dooku. “Take it, Sy. We can share!” Sifo-Dyas looked at Dooku’s outstretched hand, holding the second half of the crystal, and ran straight into his arms, hugging his friend as tightly as he could. “Now we’ll always have a piece of the other, no matter where we are” Dooku said into Sifo-Dyas’s head, as he returned the hug carefully so as to not crush their crystals.
“Thank you Doo” Sifo-Dyas said softly, and they slowly began to climb back out of the cave.
Dooku sat at his desk, looking at his lightsaber, and at Sifo-Dyas’s. He held both, one in each hand as he thought about when they found their crystals together, about all the battles they had fought holding a piece of the other. Now that piece of them both was dead, or at least as good as. Although only one body went down on Oba Diah, two souls fell. Dooku looked into the mirror, and ran a hand through his hair as he stared into his bloodshot eyes.
The holorecorder beeped, and he answered with a curt greeting.
“I require your assistance on Geonosis. Meet with the Trade Federation and Geonosions about the production of the droids.”
“Yes Master” Dooku said dutifully, bowing his head.
“It seems your grandpadawan is looking into Kamino.” There was a pause as Sidious considered his apprentice. “Silence him.”
The recorder buzzed and the projection disappeared. Dooku took a deep breathe in, and thought about his friend, his lover, his life. He may have failed to save Sifo-Dyas, however potentially a change of fate could occur for his dear grandpadawan…
Done! Hope you didn’t hate it - would love and appreciate any feedback, or constructive criticism! Because I have no self control, may turn this into a longer fic and incorporate different Monday prompts into it? I dont know yet. But yeah, thank you so so so so much for reading up to this point!!!
