coming to a close!

Well folks I have to make an announcement! I've decided that I'm leaving tumbler and focusing solely on my blog, TheNativeTraveler. I am found on Word Press if you would like to follow. Keeping up with 2 blogs 1 fitness 1 travel was just too much for me as well as chasing a baby. I'm still going to be doing the exact same thing on here but I'm just switching blogs and incorporating travel babies fitness and health all in 1 an d the occasional poetry. I know I promised a video on tumbler but I just can't keep up with 2 of them right now. However I am incorporating videos on my other blog. Hope to see all of my dedicated followers over yonder! !

Don't worry! I'm still here!

I have allowed way too much time to pass in between my fitness blogging and travel and life etc;. Well, it ends today. My holiday running around and just pure exhaustion has been laying into me lately. no excuses!

Not only have I had the pleasure of taking on such a wonderful client in whom hired me specifically for prenatal fitness, I too have lost much more of my baby weight...and this is the stuff I need to be taking the time to share! It is such an encouragement to share it with you all. Especially for my past clientele that still find my blog helpful to them. So, for the next few days I will be posting some pictures of my recent workouts and even a (drum roll puh-leeze) a video on the most important topic regarding fitness during your pregnancy. It will be a 3 part video consisting of 1rst, 2nd and 3rd trimester do's and don't s, effective sample workouts and how to do them properly and my own personal experience during my pregnancy. Next, I will be demonstrating specific exercises that play an important role for the back. This will include the incorporation of various healthy foods, stretching and the importance of posture.

Your body and it's response to emotion ~

What an amazing machine,our body is! Just think: We eat and don't even have to think about how to absorb it, digest it or chew it: It just happens!

That's the beauty of our human bodies. Our body and mind working together to create what we are and what we become.Do you ever think about what your putting in or subjecting yourself to everyday?Most will say that they don't. I never did. Until recently, as I began learning about all the things that make up a healthy lifestyle, mind, body and spirit.

Everything effects everyone all the time. We are made up to feel sad and happy. We are made up to be angry. It's what we chose to let these emotions effect our body in a negative way. For example, a happy and relatively content individual may experience the joy or many foods (taste, smell, presentation) while a stressed or depressed individual may resists these feelings altogether. When your body senses that negativity, it sends a signal that can inhibit peristalsis, reduce propulsion of food, decreases gastric secretion and reduces the blood flow to the stomach.

Overall, we are going to be stressed out or sad a lot of the time about many different reasons, but the point to take into count is that your aware of what these feelings do to your body and have a back up for coping with them!

Talking to friends and family, going to the gym, walking in the park, visiting a relative, massage therapy (I HIGHLY recommend), hold a baby, drink organic tea. Whatever it is! This is your body and your life:)

Food Diary

Food diaries may seem overrated and complicated but in reality they are a very useful tool in weight management and overall food intake. Writing down what you ate, every time you ate it, will give you just enough of an idea where you are headed in your diet and give you a heads up on where you want to be! from calories to sugar, to saturated fat and the actual nutrition that is in each food item, you will find that a food diary will keep you on track toward your goals.

Labor Day!!

Happy Labor Day,folks! Are you taking this day to relax and enjoy the festivities that the American tradition hold? I hope so. I will be studying, exercising, chasing a one year old and babying my 5 month old :)Believe it or not, this what a day of rest means to me. Anyways, I hope you can at least get some cardio in, say, 30 min in between meals and leisure! and remember: a cheat day is necessary although don't over due it!

Here is a little routine to help get you started today, anytime:

3 sets of 12 push up (any style)

3 sets of 12 jump squats (with or without weights)

3 sets or torso twists (with or without weights)

You can do this! and it wont take you all my 15 minutes:)

A little out of order, at the moment ~

Sad news, kids. Well, sad for me. I'll be out of commission until further notice because I have been in absolutely excruciating pain from the afterbirth of my son. Because the labor was so long, I was unaware that I needed to get chiropractic adjustments the first couple of weeks and just started working out again. I will keep you updated with info in regards to fitness and health stuff and I will continue fitness training, just not any kick boxing, post/pre natal fitness training as this time. This REALLY cuts into my training for the show *sigh*. I am getting help from a good chiropractor in west Palm Beach (Shtulman Family Chiropractic) who is putting me back together! 

As stated, I am still taking clientele for PT ONLY.

Boston trip ~

T minus 6 days until touchdown to Boston. I not only get to witness my (other BFF) get married, but I AGAIN get to be apart of her glorious, memorable day *tears* oh man..

What I love about her is that her ''Bridesmaids Itinerary for T's wedding'', included ''Work out time''...yes. Thas my girl lol. She actually reserved a spot for an hour or two of gym  time...

I will be posting pics of our various gym time and bridesmaid shenanigans!
