What would you do if you were scrolling through recommended tumblr posts and one was from someone you don't know and it was just a picture of your dad captioned "fucking hate this guy" and it had hundreds of notes
reblog it
You cannot be safe for transfems if you are not also transfeminist. You cannot be an ally to transfems and our liberation if you are not explicitly and loudly transfeminist. Not being transfeminist is not morally neutral or unbiased, it is a clear failing to consider and support the transfems in your life and around the world. If you cannot be transfeminist, then you shouldn't talk to transfems, you shouldn't talk about transfems, and you have no place in our lives or in this world. If there is truly to be revolution or liberation of any kind, it cannot leave anyone behind, and unless you loudly support us then we must assume you are okay leaving us behind.
This includes refusing to engage in callout culture. This includes denouncing the existence of "misandry" and its derivatives. This includes materially supporting the transfems around you through friendship, community, respectful inclusivity, representation, and financial support (where possible). This includes making space for transfems and shutting up to hear transfem voices and uplifting transfem lives.
Words are good, but they alone are not enough. You must be loud, but you must also support us.
- cherry wine is about domestic abuse. itâs now called a cute proposal song.
- too sweet is about seizing the day and ignoring healthy habits in favor of having more fun with unhealthy ones. heâs actively critical of himself in the song. itâs now called a song about thinking youâre superior for drinking black coffee.
- take me to church is about worship as a metaphor for sex. itâs called a religious song.
- eat your young is a song about war and political greed. itâs called a song about sex.
- now, the strongly political message of nobodyâs soldier is being ignored in favor of calling it a metaphor for hozierâs relationship with his fans.
when are we going to stop simplifying hozierâs music down to cute little cottagecore bogman forest music? maybe you dont want to hear this but i donât care. quit listening to hozier for the aesthetic. thereâs a reason why empire now, foreignerâs god, butchered tongue, etc. songs with unignorable political messages are among his least popular songs.
One of the best things I've done for myself as a disabled person is get rid of my shame around sitting or laying in weird places. Bathroom floor? Check. Random sidewalk? Check. Lobbies of various professional buildings? So many checks. It is not embarrassing or shameful for me to take care of my body but it is embarrassing for architects and city designers to value appearances over accessibility
I got that dog in me
(Obsessive tendencies and abandonment issues)
so many people ive known have pushed themselves to burnout trying to deny their disabled reality, skipping accommodations, skipping rests etc. and the world convinces them that the solution to their burnout is to push even harder. itâs a huge tragedy. i know social pressures make it tough but i want more disabled people to make things easier for themselves where possible, to opt out of things that harm them when possible, to quit while theyâre ahead. be that person today! protect yourself where you can! take micro breaks while doing your hobby. get that shower chair. sit to brush your teeth. lie down in the middle of the day, even if only for 5 mins. these things add up and itâs so worth it.
happy disability pride month! ACCOMMODATE YOURSELF TODAY!
I've been coming to terms recently with just how fucked my memory issues are, and something I don't see talked about a lot is how much harder it is to get to know people when you can't answer questions like "so what are your hobbies?" or "what have you been up to lately?" because doing so would require a long memory delve to even have a chance of remembering anything about yourself
Something that really effs me up is how a large amount of society's "undesirable" adjectives are traits you can acquire due to disability.
Unemployed. Lives with their parents. Provides little to no economic value. Physically weak. NEET. Social outcast. Burden on others. Useless. Out of shape. Needs special care and attention. Over-sensitive. Medication-reliant.
I am platonically incredibly homosexual.
Shoutout to cripples who do stuff even though they're not meant to like drinking caffine. Yes it messes with my body but i want a cup of tea and i want it strong. Shoutout to cripples who aren't always perfect and compliant in their treatment
And don't you dare shame cripples who do stuff that's bad for them if you don't shame ableds for drinking alcohol or eating junk food because we all do stuff that isn't good for us and being a cripple doesn't mean we have to be perfect. We can be angry and reckless
Disabled and chronically ill people are allowed to enjoy things and do things they like (if theyâre able) while still being sick and disabled. Yes, even if they arenât employed. Hope this helps.
reminder to all disabled people that youâre allowed to tell people âi canât do thatâ about stuff you can âtechnicallyâ do but which harms you or requires a period of recovery or preparatory rest etc. you donât have to explain the complex nuances of your condition to anybody who demands it. iâve found itâs honestly better to give the least amount of info about your symptoms unless you trust a person a lot. you hold the power over your health information. you choose whether or not to share the details of your condition with people who might not understand.
at some point deltarune is gonna end and everyone who thought it was about jevil or tenna or spamton or fucking gaster is gonna throw up cause it was about the teenage girls and the tma enby main characters and not any of the male side characters
i could be the most incompetent attack dog youve ever seen
ah ok gooseworx's tumblr account got banned
extract celebrated culture from transfem and then drop them like a brick
exactlyyyy! you get it! i've seen this cycle like 5 different times minimum
what they donât tell you is that it lives inside you until you let it out
