When your bfās suit arrives early enough for you to do suit alterations beyond just hemming
Gonna make him so sexy
Finished the alterations with plenty of time to alter my dress as well! Iām not in the wedding ceremony but my dress has been needing the adjustment.
No pics yet but my bf looks SO good. Had already finished the pants hemming and the jacket sleeve tapering on Thursday. Then today I did the jacket body tapering and hemming.
Thank the shipping gods this was not me:
the thing about fiber art that nobody tells you about is that every single kind of fiber art is a gateway drug to other kinds of fiber art.

14th Century Shoe
In a year or so, this is going to be re-introduced as the next fashion trend.

Making new set of 18th century stays due to weight gain. Same pattern as my current ones but new size, Redthreadedās 1780ās front lacing stays
And ugh
What do you mean I need to test fit the pattern why canāt it just be magically already /my/ size š«š«š«š«
I write this as I already have the mockup cut out
Glad Iām doing the mockup. Turns out Iām not /that/ much bigger than I thought. But now these donāt fit either. I can take out an inch from the center back but Iāll need to take out more than that⦠and itāll need to be from the side seams
Aaaaand I had cut from the smallest size from the plus size pack, and Iād have to throw another 20 bucks to get the regular size packā¦
Iām going to compare my original pattern (back when red threaded sold single sizes and not packs =_=) and see what I can do from there in terms of boning channels as well as taking in the sides.
phm is decently popular in japan and i mostly see this when i check twitter and see accounts posting pictures of handmade rocky plushies that are so fucking round looking it brings a tear to my eye
he keeps me sane
btw, idk if this will be seen by any of the countless people who already have seen and reblogged this post, but heres the original guide posted on how to make the chibi-rocky! the OP also has a separate guide for a more accurate rocky, though obviously less simple of a guide than the little thingy shown off
(im surprised this post gained any attention, haha, if i had known i would have just shared the guides, the more handmade pebbles in the world the better)
sewing affirmations
itās okay that i donāt have a sewing machine
i love backstitching by hand for hours
this has got to be great for my back
millions of my ancestors did this and they lived almost as long as i want to
iām making so many beautiful things for my houseāoh goddamn it

Finished this dress in time to celebrate the winter solstice with my friends last weekend! The days are getting longer and brighter from now on āļø
This is the only known photo of the first trans woman to have her gender legally recognized in Switzerland.
In 1914, Adine T. sent a letter to her local police to grant her a pass to dress as she pleased. She petitioned that "I be granted permission to live as a woman, to wear female clothing and to pursue female occupations, and to be considered a woman before the world in all and every respect, since my emotional feelings are totally feminine and I feel unspeakably unhappy in male clothing."
Her gender was so clear that even the conservative Swiss government had to recognize it. Obtaining permission to live as a woman "is a matter of life and death for me," Adine added.
111 years ago, it was the first pass of its kind in her nation (although not the first in Europe). When interviewed, Adine described herself similarly to other trans lesbians in the 20th century: "a homosexual woman in a male body.ā Source: Matthias Ruoss, "Arnold, Arnoldine, Adine."
Very excited to finally share some pictures of my Dread Pirate Frogerts build! I've been thinking about making this outfit for my Kermit for a while now, but the proper motivation to actually get this done was hearing that Cary Elwes was announced as a guest for my local comic convention! So with any luck Dread Pirate Frogerts will be getting to meet the real Westley very soon.
A shocking amount of work went into making this little outfit... I completely underestimated the amount of time I would need to put all this together. Though a good chunk of that was me getting way too wrapped up in perfectionism... ask me how many times I re-did the smocking on the sleeves (On second thought, don't, it's embarrassing). Here I thought I had been con-crunching with Piggy last year... technically, I only just finished Kermit today, and the convention starts Thursday. Lots of internal (and external) screaming was had with this build. I did film the majority of it, with plans to turn it into a full video and reel in the future... maybe once I've had a chance to recoup from aforementioned con-crunch.
Where do reenactors even get all those clothes? And how do I get them for myself?
We make them. Sew them for ourselves, as gifts, as commissions, or pass them around as loaners and hand-me-downs. Sew, learn, upgrade
And it isnāt something we just know how to do to start with! I didnāt sew before I started reenactment in 2020, but now itās like, my primary hobby. You can start reenacting and THEN gain the skills I promise <3

I've printed it for personal use already to refresh my knowledge~
**my toupee is from Jenny Lafluer, she is incredible and is worth every penny. However my piece needed a restyle. And Iām much happier for it.
***those two styling photos are of the wig upside down. I apparently am illiterate and cannot read nor ever interacted with a wig before this day. Anyway the finished photos are of the piece worn correctly. I used a much smaller curler and a ton of steam. The braids are my actual hair.
Second best dressed at the independence hall. Now to wait for some of these liberty weirdos to join me for a drink
